Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 354: Final Strike

Chapter 354: Final Strike

Mayven was full of resentment.

He couldn’t understand why things had turned out like this.

He had planned for this moment for thousands of years, even going out of his way to create an independent clone.

By placing this clone beside the Demon God and gaining his trust, he was prepared to betray him and become the final victor of this fateful day.

Unfortunately, everything had gone wrong.

First, the appearance of the Outsider forced him to reveal his second clone and forcibly merge the two bodies together.

Then, the Demon God showed his terrifying side.

Although Mayven was not as knowledgeable as Liora and could not guess the truth of this world, he had already seen some clues.

However, he had never expected that the strongest person in this world, the Demon God, would have secretly been controlled by two higher-level powers.

Staring into the bloodthirsty Demon God and feeling his own vitality gradually flow away, Mayven’s eyes grew bloodshot.

He was unwilling! He didn’t want to die!

He hadn’t yet reached the apex of this world!

He wanted to see the world outside! To break free of this world’s shackles and become a true powerhouse, able to roam free across the Heavens!

As his resentment surged, Mayven seemed to have broken free from his shackles and achieved enlightenment. If he were to find a place and practice in seclusion, he might be able to break the shackles of the Demon Sovereign realm within a couple of years.

However, it was already too late.

A horrifying light flashed in his field of vision, and the Demon God slashed at him one more time.

It was the final attack.

The vitality in Mayven’s eyes dispersed.

The sky cracked once again, and bloody rain fell down, this time more intense than ever before.

But soon, the bloody rain also dispersed.

Not on its own, but because the two eyes in the sky blinked and exerted their power.

Time paused.

The Demon Weapon World became still, and the two eyes were the only "people" that could move.

Everyone else, including the Demon God and the other Demon Sovereigns, became motionless, powerless to resist under the two higher-level worlds’ power.

The only person who could still persist was none other than Liora.

Not because she was the strongest, but because the projection of the Land of Nothingness appeared on its own and protected her.

Although it didn’t help her to completely break free, it at least enabled her consciousness to move.

Without hesitation, Liora was about to activate the World-Descending Array and leave.

But before she could do so, her gaze suddenly moved.

She stared at the Demon God and frowned slightly.

She had sensed something amiss at this moment.

Just when she was wondering whether to investigate further, a familiar voice rang in her mind.

"How about we make another deal?"

"Haven’t you been searching for your companion all this time? In fact, I’ve found their location long ago."

"As long as everything is over, I can help you two reunite."

The person who spoke was none other than the Demon God. Despite what his frenzied state would suggest, his voice was calm and composed.

Seeing this, Liora’s eyes narrowed.

"What do you want?"

"Don’t expect me to fight against these two beings. If you want to die, you can do it on your own.", she stated, and the Demon God was quick to reply:

"I don’t need you to fight. What I want is for your help after everything is over."

"I want you to wipe out the powerful beings in this world."

"It’s best if all the Divine Race members, the Divine Weapons, and the Evil Spirits were killed and destroyed."

His answer caught Liora off guard.

She had originally expected the Demon God to use Alpha to threaten her.

If he had done so, Liora was planning to leave. She wouldn’t let herself be threatened.

At worst, she would return to this place once she became stronger, reviving Alpha and taking revenge by the way.

Fortunately, the Demon God seemed to have guessed her thoughts and didn’t dare threaten her.

Indeed, for beings of their level, they had already seen through life and death.

They knew that as long as they became powerful enough, the past did not matter.

If they reached the apex of the Heavens, reviving someone or even going back in time required nothing but a thought.

Since that was the case, Liora did not rush to activate the formation. She nodded to the Demon God and waited, wanting to see what he was planning to do.

Thankfully, the Demon God did not keep her waiting. Upon reaching an agreement with her, he directly took action.

The crimson in his eyes receded, and they regained their vitality, as a tiny light flashed across his forehead.

The golden part of the light had almost disappeared.

Most of it was dyed black and crimson, with less than five percent remaining being normal.

Clearly, the Demon God’s corruption had become extremely severe.

Just when Liora looked at the light and understood something, the Demon God raised his head and stared at the two eyes covering the once-blue sky.

The latter seemed to have sensed his gaze.

Their attention shifted to him, and they became furious!

How could a mere pawn try to escape their control?!

This person should die!

They did not voice their thoughts out loud, but the Demon God seemed to have guessed what they were thinking.

He looked at the eyes and chuckled, before his smile turned into full-blown laughter.

"Thousands of years... I have been waiting for thousands of years..."

"Do you know how I’ve lived all this time?! Do you think I wished to huddle in a dark space for thousands of years?!"

"Damn it! This whole world is a trap!"

"Evil Spirits! Divine Weapons! Both powers are sources of corruption!"

"You dare to call yourselves the Divine Race? We are all nothing but puppets!"

"Are we powerful? When our ’master’ arrives, we have to bow down and have no chance to resist!"

The voice of the Demon God was calm at first, but grew increasingly crazed the more he spoke.

His face and voice were full of resentment.

Mayven believed that he was unfortunate, but had he ever gone through what the Demon God had gone through?

Compared to him, Mayven’s life was nothing but a paradise!

Recalling the resentful look that the opponent had displayed in his final moments, as if cursing him for his ruthlessness, the Demon God became even more furious.

"Damn it! Damn it!"

"You’re all forcing me! You’re all forcing me to do this!"

"Since that’s the case, die! Die! Die!"

The moment the final "die" fell, the already powerful aura of the Demon God surged even further.

He raised his sword and pointed towards the sky. An oppressive aura spread from him as he gathered his momentum.

Liora, on the side, looked at this sight solemnly. She could sense the Demon God’s current state.

He was planning to launch an attack similar to her Blood Blade Technique.

One strike, putting everything on the line. Using his life as fuel, he bet that he could kill them.

If the opponent didn’t die, then he would!

However, Liora was still doubtful.

Was this the Demon God’s trump card and his source of confidence?

If that was the case, then he might have underestimated the power of the two higher-level worlds.

Just as she was about to shake her head in disappointment, her pupils suddenly shrank.

The sound of a river flowing echoed in her ears as a translucent river emerged behind the Demon God.

The river was semi-transparent, existing between reality and illusion.

Yet, as soon as it appeared, its momentum spread everywhere.

The world itself was already still, but this was achieved through the oppression of the two eyes.

However, as soon as the river appeared, time itself seemed to have really stopped.

Even the two eyes stopped blinking, and they had no way of contacting the outside world.

Only Liora possessed the ability to look at what was happening around her.

Instantly, she saw countless figures appear on the river behind the Demon God.
