Chapter 384: Respective Powers
Chapter 384: Respective Powers
Water elements gathered with Liora at the center and poured into her body.
The temperature around her instantly dropped to a freezing point, as if she had turned into an iceberg.
A thick layer of frost formed beneath her feet and, before anyone could react, started to spread.
One meter, ten meters, one hundred meters...
In the blink of an eye, a glacier spanning several kilometers had emerged, stunning the Zerg.
Due to their strength and race, they possessed extraordinary resistance to elements.
Unfortunately, Liora’s ability, activated with Demonforce, was obviously not a simple elemental attack.
Before the Zerg Servants could react, much less notice her existence, they were all covered in a layer of ice, becoming one with the glacier.
The most powerful among them tried to resist at first.
But gradually, their movements grew slower until their struggle finally ceased to exist.
With just a move, Liora had trapped tens of thousands of Lesser Devils.
However, she didn’t show any excitement. Considering her current strength, this was hardly an achievement.
After taking a deeper look at these creatures and becoming even more disgusted, she suddenly clenched her hand, and the ice began to break apart.
Fractures quickly formed all over its surface. A moment later, it collapsed.
The Zerg Servants trapped within did not have the time to celebrate, though.
As the ice broke apart, they also began to crack.
Following a loud crash, the bodies of tens of thousands of Lesser Devils shattered as if they were made out of glass.
The matter making up their bodies was completely wiped out, leaving only their remnant souls to float in the air.
Liora collected them with a flick of her wrist.
However, as she looked at the souls dancing within her palm and observed them closely, she couldn’t help but click her tongue with faint disappointment.
"Zerg Servants are barely considered a lifeform."
"Although there are unique individuals among them who can awaken their intelligence and improve their strength of their own, most of them are merely the Zerg Queen’s puppets."
"As such, the quality of their souls is... average."
Mediocre was a kind term to describe it.
In fact, Liora could sense that their souls barely reached the threshold of the Lesser Devil stage.
Altogether, these tens of thousands of souls were hardly as useful as one from a True Devil.
"Fortunately, the number of Zerg Servants is enough to make this journey worth it.", Liora raised her head and thought.
She could sense millions of Zerg Servants just in the area she was responsible for. Overall, the number of Zerg was truly massive.
After pausing for a while, Liora did not linger in the plain for long. With a thought, she rushed to another place.
This place was no different from before. Remnants of a lush forest could be seen, as the grass, the trees, and the creatures within it had long been devoured.
Occupied by Zerg Servants of all types who devoured everything along their path, the forest now looked like the nest of a terrifying insect monster.
Looking at this scene with faint disgust, Liora took action once more.
She didn’t use Elemental Affinity this time, but instead controlled the power of Nothingness and turned it into a sea.
Without the need for the Demonforce’s assistance, the Nothingness soon engulfed the Zerg Servants, sending them to their final destination, back to nothingness.
Liora did not pause after wiping them out.
Collecting their souls, she continued the hunt, flashing from one place to another and slaying the enemies below.
–
Liora was not the only one working "hard" to slay the Zerg Servants.
Upon receiving the Commander’s signal, every Greater Devil began to use their means to deal with the enemies.
Compared to Liora, who was able to easily overwhelm her opponents, these people were not as comfortable.
Assira, the two True Spirit Greater Devils, and the Commander were all fine, but the Greater Devils who had only reached the Indestructible Soul stage did not fare as well.
Among them was Alpha. Since she was one of the five people who had accepted the mission, she also had to participate.
If it were in the past, she might have been unable to compete with the sea of Zerg Servants.
But thankfully, her strength had increased dramatically during the trip to the Demon Weapon World.
By now, her strength was equivalent to a peak Greater Devil, albeit she was slightly lacking in means.
Just like Liora, she was also facing a large number of Zerg Servants at the moment.
What was different from Liora, though, was that she had no way to hide herself.
Not long after her arrival, the Zerg Servants noticed her existence and pounced forward, wishing to devour her.
Fortunately, the signal to take action arrived not long after.
Alpha knew that she could also begin her slaughter.
Glancing at the menacing sea of Zerg coming in her direction, her amber eyes maintained their aloof expression.
Waving her hand, a circular disk appeared in her palm, and dozens of blurry silhouettes emerged from within.
As soon as they landed on the ground, their appearances were revealed.
They were all women with brown hair and amber eyes, looking the same as Alpha.
The only difference was their strength.
Unlike the real Alpha, these puppets only reached the True Devil stage.
Their number was nothing compared to the sea of Zerg, less than a hundred in total.
Yet, the moment they appeared, a strange connection was formed between them.
The power of all the puppet clones poured into the real Alpha, enhancing her strength even further.
Countless threads shot out of her palms and struck at the enemies, like the tentacles of a vicious beast.
The power of each thread was impressive, and they were able to easily tear apart the Zerg Servants.
Soon, a large area around Alpha had been cleared. Bloody corpses and remains stayed behind, as she continued swinging the threads to strike at her enemies.
–
On the opposite side of the world, a beautiful woman stood surrounded by countless Zerg Servants.
Compared to Liora and Alpha, who chose to fight against these opponents, the woman showed no intention of attacking.
She stepped forward with a smile on her face, as if she were not surrounded by enemies but was taking a walk in the park.
A strange power emerged from her body and permeated throughout the surroundings.
The sound of heels echoed. With each click, the eyes of the Zerg Servants around her grew more confused, until finally, their eyes completely lost their brilliance.
Like puppets, they bowed respectfully towards the woman before turning around and pouncing on their former companions.
The woman chuckled upon seeing this scene. Then, as if nothing had happened, she continued her walk.
–
Each Greater Devil had a different method to deal with the Zerg.
No matter what method they used, though, the number of Zerg gradually dwindled.
This went unnoticed at first.
But as more and more Zerg Servants died, a person sleeping at the center of the world awakened.
Her gaze penetrated through time and space and landed outside, taking in everything that was happening.
Zerg Queens had no attachment to the Zerg Servants they gave birth to, regarding them as tools to improve themselves.
However, seeing her children die in front of her eyes thousands at a time, the Zerg Queen couldn’t help but become furious.
