Chapter 386: Teleported Away
Chapter 386: Teleported Away
"The Zerg Queen has gotten stronger since the last time I saw her. She has likely reached the peak of the Greater Devil stage."
"Moreover, although we killed most of her Zerg Servants, there should be some still alive."
"Everyone should be careful. Gather together and don’t let her pick us off."
If they were facing an ordinary peak Greater Devil, no one would have cared or been so cautious.
Let alone so many people, even the strength that Liora had displayed was enough to easily deal with the opponent.
However, the Zerg Queen was not an ordinary creature.
Just like Devils, such beings were truly extraordinary and possessed countless trump cards.
Moreover, just like the Commander said, no one knew how many Zerg Servants she still had under her command.
It wouldn’t be surprising if she had several Greater Devils guarding her.
No one needed the Commander’s warning. Everyone was experienced and understood the danger.
However, since they dared to participate, they had the confidence to remain alive.
At least, this was the case for Liora and her companions.
The same was not necessarily the case for the other Great Devils, though.
As Liora glanced at the personnel of the Universe Chamber of Commerce, she was surprised to discover that they were all quite weak.
Half of them were at the Indestructible Soul stage, while the other half was only at the Indestructible Body stage.
Possessing such a force was already impressive, worthy of being an organization with an Archdevil in charge.
However, considering that their objective was to deal with a Zerg Queen, these people were barely better than nothing.
Looking at these Greater Devils, at the formation below, and then at Assira on the side, whose eyes were glinting with undisguised excitement, Liora’s intuition told her that things were far from simple.
Unbeknownst to everyone, she secretly gestured for Alpha to approach her, seemingly unintentionally.
Then, she continued listening to the Commander’s suggestions.
The Commander did not talk for long.
After giving a set of instructions, he turned towards the dead land and was about to ask everyone to step in.
However, just when his mouth had opened, and he was about to speak, the dead land in the distance trembled.
Originally, their group stood a few hundred meters away from the edge of the formation, knowing that stepping near it was bound to be dangerous.
But the next moment, the formation, and thus the dead land, began to spread at a terrifying rate.
One meter, ten meters, one hundred meters...
In the blink of an eye, the formation had arrived before them and completely submerged them.
Its speed was extraordinary, giving them no time to react.
Obviously, the Zerg Queen had been waiting for a while, and her opportunity to take action had finally arrived.
The next moment, Liora sensed a teleportation force appear around her. She found it impossible to resist, even with her current strength.
As she turned around, she discovered that she was not the only one in such a situation.
Everyone, including the Commander and Assira, was also struggling to break free, though their efforts were for naught.
Liora roughly understood the Zerg Queen’s purpose.
Feeling that she was getting closer and closer to teleporting, she looked at Alpha and spoke up:
"Merge!"
She only said one word and didn’t give a further explanation, but Alpha quickly grasped her meaning.
Her body instantly decomposed, and only a shiny orb remained behind, floating in the place she once stood.
With a sudden swoosh, the orb entered Liora’s body, and the two were seamlessly integrated.
The Greater Devils around them noticed this but had no time to pay attention.
Before long, the time had arrived. The dead land trembled, and countless white arms grew out, as the teleportation force engulfed them.
Soon, the consciousness of everyone, including Liora, went dark, and they were teleported away.
--
It took only a moment for Liora to recover.
Yet, although only a short time had gone by, she found herself in an unfamiliar place. Surveying her surroundings, she discovered that her companions were nowhere to be seen.
A flicker flashed in her eyes, and her consciousness spread in her body. Soon, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, Alpha was still with her, and the two had not been forcibly separated.
Despite this, she did not calm down just yet.
Liora remained alert and continued surveying her surroundings, knowing full well that she was still in danger.
Obviously, the Zerg Queen had known that the Universe Chamber of Commerce would attack her and had already made sufficient preparations.
Although she didn’t know where she currently was, Liora didn’t believe that the opponent would teleport them to a nice place.
Thinking of this, she cautiously looked around, her body tense and ready to take action in case of danger.
She discovered that she was currently at one end of a long, dark corridor.
Behind her stood a high wall, blocking her retreat route as if urging her to go forward.
The corridor was several meters in length, and the ceiling was hundreds of meters high, enough for even the tallest of giants to easily go through.
Several torches hung along the walls, driving the darkness away and allowing Liora to see.
This sight, coupled with the result of her consciousness’s investigation, let Liora know that there were currently no enemies.
At the very least, as far as she could see.
She didn’t let her guard down just yet.
With a move of her mind, she communicated with Alpha, and the mechanical core was ejected from her body.
Before the core could fall on the ground, Alpha’s body materialized once again and landed right beside her.
The two exchanged a glance before Liora spoke up.
"Be careful.", she reminded her.
"This place looks safe, but since the Zerg Queen dared to bring us here, it is obvious that she doesn’t have any good intentions."
"Either this place is a carefully arranged trap, or it is a forbidden place filled with natural dangers."
Of course, it could very well be both.
