Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 464: Awakened Being & Gathering Body Parts

Chapter 464: Awakened Being & Gathering Body Parts

Only a few minutes later, Liora stared silently at the empty space in front of her.

Her muscles tensed as she clenched her fist, delivering a punch straight into the air.

She neither used Sinforce nor activated any of her abilities.

She didn’t even boost her force by channeling her demonic energy.

Yet, as the punch landed, the space began to crack before finally exploding.

Colorful fragments scattered everywhere, like pieces of glass.

They started to merge under an inexplicable power beyond Liora’s control, transforming into a miniature black hole.

Liora showed no surprise at this strange phenomenon. She already witnessed something similar in her bloodline memories.

The Demon World did not exist as a whole but was subdivided into different Layers, each of them unique.

No one knew exactly how many such Layers there were.

All Devils knew was that each of them was ruled by a powerful Devil who held certain authority over them. The lower the number behind the Demon Layer’s name, the more powerful its Ruler would be.

Traveling among these Demon Layers was troublesome for most Devils.

It required the use of special teleportation arrays, most of which were in the hands of the Rulers.

That meant that if a Devil wished to leave the 173rd Layer of the Demon World, they would have to obtain the permission of the Hollow Ancestor.

Or rather, they would have to negotiate with the City Lord’s Mansion.

Teleportation was allowed in most cases, only requiring the Devil to pay a certain price, as well as to personally visit the city-hub.

Liora had no issue with the former, but the latter... was a big issue.

Raising her head, Liora stared at the mist-covered Hollow City that was trembling violently.

Though she could not peek into the city itself, she could sense several powerful auras colliding fiercely.

Clearly, a war was currently taking place—one involving dozens of Archdevils, some of them strong enough to shake the entire Origin Sea.

Liora breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

"Fortunately, I was lucky enough to become an Archdevil before the chaos began. Otherwise, my only option would have been to go through the Origin Sea.", she whispered, turning her attention to the black hole floating in front of her.

This "black hole" was an innate ability bestowed upon all Archdevils by the Will of the Demon World.

Using it, an Archdevil no longer needed to use teleportation arrays. They had the choice to travel through the Demon Layers independently.

After taking a deeper look at the black hole and marveling at its unfathomable power, Liora no longer hesitated.

She had a hunch that she would deeply regret it if she were to waste any more time.

After glimpsing into her Space Orb and confirming that Alpha, Scurry, and everything she needed were already there, she finally moved.

Taking a step forward, she walked straight into the black hole.

An overwhelming power emerged from this peculiar structure, attempting to tear apart both her body and soul.

Thankfully, Liora’s strength had long reached the Archdevil level.

A sheen of demonic energy attached to her skin on its own, protecting her from this force.

Perhaps because the black hole realized it could not do anything to her, the tearing force retreated.

The black hole expanded and swallowed her entire figure, causing Liora’s figure to disappear.

--

By the time she recovered, Liora had appeared in a dark void, surrounded by countless white stars.

She needed no explanation, knowing full well that these stars represented the many Demon Layers.

There were tens of thousands of them in total.

Yet, she didn’t try to study them further, but selected one star at random.

For her, all the Demon Layers were foreign. With her level of strength, she’d be able to prosper no matter the destination.

There was no need to be overly picky at a time like this. Stretching her consciousness, Liora communicated with the stars.

The power of the Will of the Demon World responded to her call. Its power descended, shattering the dark void.

Its remaining power wrapped around Liora’s body and began to transfer her away.

--

The sensation Liora experienced was quite similar to when she activated the World-Descending Array, making her wonder if the two things were related.

Yet, there was also an obvious difference.

Perhaps because she had reached the Archdevil stage, or perhaps because of the peculiarity of this ability, Liora was fully awake during her journey.

She saw herself blending into the surrounding world and rising into the sky, soon appearing in the sky above the 173rd Demon Layer before going beyond that.

From this point of view, Liora could take a glimpse of the Demon Layer’s structure.

It was the first time she had done so, and the result left her stunned.

Though she had experienced several world invasions and had "toured" the Origin Sea, it was the first time she saw such a structure.

An infinite number of massive continents, all fused together to create a colossal unified landmass.

Millions of demi-planes were connected to each of these continents, making the 173rd Demon Layer look like a honeycomb.

If that was it, Liora would have been surprised but not astonished.

What shocked her, however, was the fact that she was able to peek into the other Demon Layers.

They were stacked on top of each other in a pyramid-like shape, with only a stretch of empty space dividing them.

The higher one went, the vaster the Demon Layer would be, while those below would grow smaller.

The gap was huge.

The 172nd Demon Layer was nearly double the size of the 173rd Layer, and the same was true for the 171st Layer.

By the time one reached the first ten Demon Layers...

"I’m afraid that each of these Layers is vaster than all the worlds in the Origin Sea—combined.", Liora couldn’t help but whisper in shock, ignoring the sensation of "dropping" down.

Clearly, her destination was one of the Demon Layers below, and the power of the Demon World was guiding her accordingly.

Gradually, the 173rd Demon Layer grew smaller and smaller in her vision, becoming far more distant.

Within seconds, she had almost completely left it behind.

But just then, the 173rd Demon Layer started to tremble violently once more, causing her to turn around and take another look.

From this angle, Liora had a panoramic view of everything that was taking place.

She saw a towering being rise up and let out a powerful roar, full of anger and hatred. Its mere voice destroyed countless continents.
