Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 541: Human Emperor Sword

Chapter 541: Human Emperor Sword

A low hum spread throughout the continent, starting from the very center of the central region and soon reaching all its lands.

An overwhelming force arose, accompanying the low sound.

Although Liora was countless kilometers away, she sensed a sharp energy brush against her face, nearly making her hair rise up.

She had no time to pay attention to this, however.

Her eyes narrowed as her gaze pierced through time and space and landed on the sky above the central region.

There, she could see a sword.

Seemingly ordinary in size but also larger than the entire continent beneath it, the sword’s handle was engraved with intricate patterns and images of the human race’s history.

Through a brief glance, Liora seemed to have traveled to the past, witnessing the human race’s history firsthand.

From the oppression they faced by the demons and their lives as livestock, to the humans’ rise under the banner of a single charismatic man.

Liora seemed to have personally witnessed this all through the sword’s eyes.

Yet just as she was observing these scenes, a faint whisper snapped her back to reality.

“Human Emperor Sword.”, the voice was filled with surprise and astonishment.

As Liora turned toward Ysset, the latter seemed to have sensed her confusion.

Having long guessed Liora’s identity as an Otherworld Demon, Ysset understood she didn’t know what she was referencing.

She took the initiative to explain:

“My Lord, you may not know. The Human Emperor Sword is the signature weapon of the Human Emperor.”

“Legend has it that it was an ordinary sword accompanying him from when he was young, until he managed to reach Rank 11.”

“The Human Emperor Sword advanced with him. Bathed in the blood of countless demons, it has long surpassed the rank of ordinary weapons.”

Ysset paused briefly.

She didn’t make an attempt to conceal her fear, feeling it was completely natural for her to have such a reaction.

A couple of moments later, she added:

“If there is such a thing as a Divine Weapon in our world, then the Human Emperor Sword is it. In a sense, it has faintly surpassed the constraints of Rank 11.”, she said, her admiration evident in her tone.

Liora nodded in response.

She could indeed tell that the sword in the sky was extraordinary.

At least, it was the most powerful weapon Liora had ever seen, able to exert the power of an Ancient Devil on its own.

Sensing its momentum intensify and gradually spread, as well as the hidden consciousness attached to it, Liora acted quickly.

The Snake of Time immediately emerged from her body. It transformed into an illusory river and wrapped around her.

After a brief moment, Liora decided to also wrap Ysset with her.

The female dragon was momentarily surprised.

But as the illusory river bound her, she didn’t feel any pain or fear.

Instead, she felt as though she had transcended the constraints of this world, having jumped out of the clutches of time and standing on the banks of the River of Time.

Liora nodded in satisfaction. With the Snake of Time protecting them, she could be certain that few people could locate them. Even Ancient Devils would find it nearly impossible.

Breathing a sigh of relief, she lifted her head and continued observing the Human Emperor Sword. She wanted to see the reason behind its appearance.

Had the Human Temple decided to take action to kill her… or was someone else controlling it?

The sequence of events sounded complicated.

Yet from the time Liora realized something was wrong, to the moment she concealed herself and Ysset, only a split second had passed.

The Human Emperor Sword had not taken any action during this time. It was only after Liora was concealed that it finally began to move.

Its edge vibrated violently. The humming sound it produced became even louder as its vibration caused the space around it to collapse.

The next instant, countless sword lights emerged from its body and shot throughout the central region.

Slashing sounds rang out.

The lights travelled through space and arrived directly before their target.

“No! No! Roar!”

A Devil let out a powerful scream. It was one of the few individuals with Liora’s bloodline who had managed to reach the Greater Devil stage.

But as one of the millions of sword lights slashed at it, the Devil discovered it could do nothing to defend itself.

With a single slash, its body was neatly divided into two.

Then, its separated parts burst into ashes, giving it no time or hope for rebirth.

This Devil was not the only one facing such a situation.

Within a few moments, the sword lights had harvested the lives of millions of its race members.

The Devils that had managed to enter the central region were being slaughtered.

Liora felt this clearly. As the source of their bloodline, she had supreme control over her descendants and could directly check their state.

In the map within her mind that depicted the Blood Forest Realm, the lights in the central region all faded away at the exact same time.

Moreover, the slaughter did not stop there. Following another hum of the Human Emperor Sword, the Devils along the regions’ borders were also affected.

It was as though the Human Emperor Sword was conducting a sweep through the continent, purging the unwanted Otherworld Demons from its lands.

Just as Liora believed that it would continue, however, the changes in the bloodline map suddenly halted.

The Human Emperor Sword stopped shaking.

As if a person was holding its handle, it rose upright before slashing down. Its aura locked to a faraway place, freezing space itself and rendering it impossible for its enemy to move.

The area the Human Emperor Sword targeted was surprisingly not the eastern region—the Land of Devils.

Instead, it was attacking in the completely opposite direction—at the western region.

More precisely, at a vast mountain range.

As the silver glow of its edge travelled through several landscapes, it finally landed there and razed the mountains to the ground.

“Aaah!”, a blood-curdling scream echoed throughout the continent, followed by a furious roar.

“Human Emperor!”
