The final words of the mysterious figure lingered in the air.
Although they hadn’t stated it explicitly, their meaning was abundantly clear to anyone who stopped to consider it.
During the trial, neither the figure nor its owner would care about the participants’ safety.
If someone managed to kill another participant, regardless of the method they used, they would receive no punishment whatsoever.

Liora immediately grasped its intention. As did everyone else.

Whether it was the tentacled Emperor or the Zerg Queen, both of them remained perfectly still, staring intently at the puzzle pieces before them as though they had forgotten each other’s existence.
Only Elaouthr showed signs of wanting to charge forward, but Liora quickly stopped him.
She shook her head.
With her experience, she immediately understood what everyone was thinking.
The figure had openly stated that fighting was permitted.
Precisely because of that, no one was willing to be the one to make the first move.
Had it remained silent, someone might have gambled on eliminating the others first. But now, those words had become invisible shackles.
“Everyone in the room is an experienced powerhouse. Regardless of how sincere that figure appears, no one is foolish enough to trust its words completely.”
“Compared to everyone else here, that figure might be the greatest threat.”
As such, everyone guarded against it.
They were unwilling to do anything that might end up benefiting the other party, even if that was what they wanted to do.

Within moments, the entire hall fell silent.
Everyone focused completely on the trial, almost as though the others no longer existed.
Liora also did the same.
Finding a relatively empty corner in the hall, she enveloped the billions of puzzle pieces with her power and took a seat.
Then, her gaze swept across them.
When on the screen, the puzzle pieces had numbered in the billions.
Although it had now been divided into six sections, each assigned to one participant, the number of pieces had barely become any more manageable.
Through a brief glance, Liora could be certain that they still numbered in the billions.
Moreover, their shape and uniqueness remained unchanged.
“The ‘game’ requires us to complete the puzzle of our section. This is… strangely familiar…”, Liora muttered inwardly.
When she had been in one of the many worlds near the Demon World, she had encountered the inheritance of the Path of the Mind.
To obtain it, she had to go through three different trials in a palace similar to this one.
Some of these trials tested her combat prowess, others her will, while some her qualifications.
Among them was a trial similar to this one.
Liora was forced to complete a complicated puzzle if she wanted to succeed.
Back then, she had been far weaker than she was at the moment.
At first glance, this trial should have become much easier. Yet reality was the exact opposite.
While Liora herself had grown stronger, the puzzle had become incomparably more complicated.
Moreover, the moment her eyes settled upon the pieces, she felt an invisible force clawing at her soul, as though trying to tear it apart from within.
