Chapter 643: Outburst & Past Era Beings
Chapter 643: Outburst & Past Era Beings
The blond man, Andrew, nearly choked at these words. Holding the position of a Guardian was something he had always been proud of.
Unlike the indifferent woman and elderly man, who paid little attention to Liora’s rise, he was perhaps the powerhouse who cared about it the most.
But after a brief falter, he regained his signature smile.
“Haha. Don’t worry.”, he waved his hand.
“Even if she has become an Emperor, it will take her a long time to reach our current level, no matter how talented she may be.”, he chuckled.
Both the woman and the elderly man who had been paying attention nodded secretly.
That was true.
The difference between Emperors was truly massive.
Part of it was based on the talent they had awakened and the Law they had comprehended.
Another was the techniques they had practiced, their combat experience, and the treasures at their disposal.
All of these were not things that could easily be made up for. They required ample time and effort to achieve.
For the foreseeable future, Liora would have no chance to enter their ranks.
In fact, the War God knew this as well. It was just that Anna’s latest words made him somewhat hopeful.
Even so, he didn’t try to insist.
After fighting for a few more minutes with Andrew, he shifted his attention to the other teams.
He recognized all of the gathered people.
But two names in particular caught his attention.
Cosmos Emperor. A demon who had reached Rank 10 long before the War God had been born and had stood at the apex of the Cosmic Universe ever since.
Heaven Emperor. A Zerg Servant who had only recently risen up, but whose strength was terrifying. His bloodline was suspected to have mutated, granting him several terrifying abilities.
As for the Mechanical Race, they lacked such a powerhouse.
However, one would not underestimate them. Their strange abilities made them as terrifying as everyone else.
The four teams continued confronting each other.
Part of their focus remained in the city, while the rest was focused on their present location.
Their consciousnesses constantly clashed in an invisible confrontation. Although unseen, the pressure was enough to kill Venerables.
Time slowly passed.
Even when the Heavenly Armor Pavilion appeared and the aura within it began to spread, they paid no attention.
At most, some of the powerhouses glanced toward the Mechanical Race with faint curiosity.
Yet just as it seemed that this state would last forever and that the four Apex Civilizations would let the “lesser” Emperors handle the city, a trace of surprise flashed across the War God’s face.
Just like everyone else, he could also receive messages through the Information World.
But due to his status, not everyone could contact him. Only powerhouses of a similar level could, as well as the Rank 11 and Rank 12 Awakeners of the Human Federation.
Being contacted at this point was somewhat surprising.
He didn’t hesitate. His consciousness ascended in dimension, entering the Information World and looking through his messages.
When he saw the name of the sender, a look of realization appeared on his face.
Then a smile.
“I don’t know why she is looking for me? Could it be that she is in danger and wishes me to save her?”, the War God muttered, shaking his head like an elder who had to clean up after the young generation caused trouble.
With a smile on his face, he opened the message, ready to comfort Liora and tell her he would do so as soon as possible.
But just then, his expression froze. His pupils shrank.
He looked at the message once. Then twice.
He scanned over it several times as though afraid he had made a mistake.
It was only after confirming that he wasn’t imagining things that he seemed to realize what was happening.
He didn’t send a message asking Liora where she had obtained this information or whether she was certain about it.
Since she had chosen to report it, she must have understood the impact of her words.
She should be absolutely sure about it.
With that thought, the War God did not waste any time. He couldn’t afford to.
His consciousness instantly descended to reality.
As he opened his eyes, he raised his head and stared at the Mechanical Race.
Murderous intent flashed across his eyes.
For a moment, his entire momentum changed.
If he had looked like a kind elder to Liora and a powerless friend in front of Andrew, then now he looked like a demon who had emerged from a sea of corpses.
War God!
The word “War” in his title was not there by accident! It fully demonstrated his true personality and temperament.
His sudden outburst attracted attention.
First that of his human companions and then from the other races.
Everyone was curious.
They couldn’t understand why he had suddenly gone berserk.
However, both the demons and the Zerg were happy to see this.
A clash between the Mechanical Race and the Human Race would benefit them greatly. Thus, they wisely chose to take several steps back, giving room for the two civilizations to fight.
Their movements were captured by the Emperor leading the Mechanical Race.
Despite the emotionless temperament, which all Mechanical beings possessed, the Mechanical Emperor appeared hesitant.
“War God! Don’t make any mistakes!”
“We’re only here to ensure that nothing unexpected happens! Please don’t force us into a battle!”
These words were correct. The War God’s human companions also attempted to persuade him to calm down.
But when the War God’s consciousness swept over them, and his voice echoed in their minds, their expressions also shifted.
None of them hesitated.
In unison, they all broke out with an overwhelming momentum.
A sea of golden light.
A blizzard.
A tree that grew along the space and towered above the entire world.
At once, several abilities were activated, launching toward their opponents and forcing the Mechanical Race to defend themselves.
In the meantime, the War God did not participate.
Much to the surprise of everyone, he didn’t fight, but hurriedly entered the ancient city.
Before anyone could stop him, he had appeared above the Heavenly Armor Pavilion.
Lowering his head, he surveyed the surrounding buildings. His gaze grew piercing.
“It seems that it’s true!”, the War God muttered.
Then, without any warning, he struck down.
Given his power, the buildings would have instantly crumbled into fragments, even if they were protected by powerful formations.
Yet although the surrounding barriers were shattered, the expected destruction never occurred.
Several unknown figures suddenly emerged. Whether their purpose was to protect the buildings or themselves, they stepped forward and blocked his attack.
The figures were all Emperors.
More importantly, they possessed the aura of an ancient era.
They were beings of a past Era!
