Chapter 660: Fake Heaven Emperor
Chapter 660: Fake Heaven Emperor
The Heaven Emperor had made many guesses about how his ploy to get close to the unknown powerhouse would end up.
At best, the other party would accept his offer, and he would be saved. He could perhaps use this opportunity to deal with Liora.
At worst, the other party would attack both him and Liora. By that point, he would be able to force her to cooperate with him to fight against this man.
Then, he would have many chances to successfully escape his current predicament.
Besides these, the Zerg Servant had made several other contingency plans, based on the unknown man’s decision.
However, what he had never expected, and could thus not prepare for, was the scene in front of him.
The man neither responded to the offer nor did he choose to attack them.
Instead, he remained motionless, allowing Liora to approach them and stand beside him.
The Heaven Emperor’s mind short-circuited for a split second.
He couldn’t understand how the man had suddenly become so approachable.
But soon, he seemed to have realized something.
A shocked expression flashed across his face, his astonishment apparently clear.
“You… you two are cooperating?”, he spoke, unable to believe this shocking discovery.
“Was this all part of your plan?”, he continued, seemingly having seen through everything.
All of this, the Heavenly Armor Pavilion, and the emergence of the ancient city were all part of Liora’s plan.
All in order to force him to take action, guiding him step by step into a death trap.
The more he thought about it, the more desperate the Heaven Emperor became.
This woman… was too insidious.
No wonder she had been able to force him to this point in his previous life.
Not only was she powerful, but her scheming was extraordinary as well.
“You’re worthy of being my destined enemy…”, the Heaven Emperor said with a wry smile.
On the other side, Liora witnessed the alternating expressions on the Heaven Emperor’s face and was somewhat confused by his reaction.
The initial disbelief and unwillingness to believe the “truth”, the subsequent acceptance, and then the terror as he stared at her.
Although she was unable to peer into his thoughts, she could make some faint inferences.
As such, she was left speechless.
She had to admit that this man truly had a great imagination.
If she really had the ability to coordinate with the cultivators of the ancient city, she would have simply rushed into the Zerg territory and slapped him to death.
Why would she have gone through all this trouble? Merely to torture him?
“However, the fact that this person thinks so further only reinforces my initial suspicion…”, Liora thought, and her eyes narrowed.
Fortunately, she had a way to confirm everything.
Glancing at the Heaven Emperor, Liora briefly looked toward Elaouthr beside her.
After confirming that he had nothing to say, she calmly stretched her hand.
Cosmic dust wrapped around her palm and revolved rapidly, forming a black hole that produced an overwhelming devouring force.
Facing it, the Heaven Emperor had no chance to resist.
Even if he could, the Heavenly Armor Pavilion would have rendered him unable to escape.
His decision to rush here had proven utterly incorrect.
Not only had he failed to save himself, but he had thrown himself to death’s door.
He could only watch powerlessly as Liora’s hand slowly approached him.
In what seemed like hours to him, but was just a split second, the black hole finally landed on him.
The expected collision did not occur.
The Heaven Emperor did not even let out a tiny scream.
When the black hole struck him, his body instantly broke down.
The carapace protecting him was unable to offer any resistance. It disintegrated.
The impact then spread further.
In just an instant, his body had been destroyed. Then followed his soul.
Both entered the Cosmic Sea, turning into its nourishment.
Yet at the same time, part of Heaven Emperor’s soul transformed into pure information. His memories flowed into Liora’s mind, broken down into pieces.
His life played out in her field of vision as she digested them.
Everything worked as she had learned, and just as she had guessed.
The Heaven Emperor was born as a lowly Zerg Servant, only to mutate when the memories of his previous life started to emerge.
Using that mutation and the memories and insights that constantly flowed through his mind, he managed to kill the Zerg Queen who had enslaved him. From then on, he had a relatively smooth journey to becoming a powerhouse.
It was only in the ancient city that things started to change, being the first and final place he had suffered a loss.
The memories… made sense. Perhaps too much sense.
As Liora processed them, the profound look in her eyes grew deeper.
Especially when she saw a familiar aura surrounding both the memories and the Heaven Emperor’s soul itself, everything was basically confirmed.
“Did this guy really never exist?”, Liora couldn’t help but mutter, her words confusing.
The Heaven Emperor obviously existed. Otherwise, who had she been fighting against all this time?
Whose essence had she just devoured?
Yet in Liora’s cognition, this was the truth, further evidenced by the power surrounding him–the power of time.
Combined with what happened previously, she understood something.
The Heaven Emperor was fake. Or rather, he had not been the Hollow Ancestor from the very start.
As for how he had achieved this and managed to fool her initially …
Liora’s eyes narrowed.
Her gaze focused on the remaining soul of the Heaven Emperor.
The River of Time on top of the Cosmic Sea trembled, as though resonating with her emotions.
Her vision suddenly shifted. The world became completely different in her eyes, as though she had ascended to a higher dimension.
More importantly, she was now able to see through the true nature of the Heaven Emperor.
“I see…”, she couldn’t help but mutter, her voice slightly shocked.
Even she, who had always been able to maintain her composure, was surprised by the Hollow Ancestor’s methods.
