Chapter 663: Hidden Space Layer & Kingdom of Gods

With Liora’s strength, the journey to the golden palace was nearly instantaneous.

Soon, her figure appeared in the familiar hall, where once thousands of stone statues were located.

Now, however, this place was utterly empty.

No statue could be seen, much less a sign of a living life.

… Save for Alpha, of course.

The moment her trusted subordinate noticed her return, she immediately bowed respectfully.

“My Lord.”, Alpha’s voice spread through the hall, as solemn as ever.

Her back only straightened when Liora waved her hand, gesturing for her to get up.

Liora approached Alpha.

After patting her on the shoulder as a sign of approval, she went straight toward the matter at hand.

“I asked you to investigate the golden palace before leaving. Did you find any clues during this time?”, she asked.

Her words did not catch Alpha by surprise.

After glancing at Elaouthr with faint curiosity, nodding as though in acknowledgement, she turned back to Liora and began reporting.

“My Lord, there is nothing special about this palace.”

‘I’ve already conducted an in-depth investigation, going as far as to employ my Mechanical Army to investigate.”

“Unfortunately…”, Alpha shook her head with disappointment.

“There is nothing unique about this building. It seems that besides the formation serving to awaken these cultivators, there is nothing else noteworthy.”

“It doesn’t even contain any treasures, much less hide any secrets.”

It was somewhat strange that the golden palace, being the center of the fortress, served no other purpose besides helping the cultivators awaken.

But if one thought about it, everything made sense.

This place was obviously not a real stronghold, let alone a fortress. It had been built to prepare for the eventual return of those cultivators rather than a true war.

Everything else, including the cultivators’ agreement with the Mechanical Race, was merely to advance that goal.

Liora nodded toward Alpha and watched as her subordinate’s lips twitched, as if she was finding it difficult to conceal her inner joy.

Then, she glanced at Elaouthr.

“What about you? You have occupied this body and should have plundered some of his memories.”

“Have you found anything special about this place?”, she asked once more.

Unfortunately, the result was exactly the same.

Elaouthr didn’t respond.

While digesting the pieces of information he had obtained, he studied the space before him.

Soon, he shook his head before going on to give the exact same answer as that of Alpha.

He didn’t seem to be lying, nor did he have a reason to do so.

At the moment, his rebirth depended entirely on Liora.

The stronger and more prepared this woman was, the higher the chances of his recovery were.

At this point in time, he wouldn’t try to scheme against her for no reason.

Hearing the repeated refusals of her subordinates, Liora let out a sigh.

She seemed to have been disappointed by their lack of success.

Or rather, by their unexpected weakness.

“It’s fine for Alpha to fail to discover anything. She is only a relatively special Rank 10 Emperor.”

“But you…”, Liora glanced at Elaouthr and shook her head.

“You were supposed to be a mysterious ancient powerhouse.”

“In that distant Era, you were not any different than the forefathers of the Human Federation, and the Mechanical Father of the Mechanical Race. Yet you’re still so weak…”

“I have to wonder. Is it really worth it to cooperate with a weakling like you?”

Her words caught both Alpha and Elaouthr by surprise.

Not by her demeanor and strange antics, but because of the content of her words.

According to Liora, there was something special in the golden palace that they had both failed to discover?

And Liora had done so, nonetheless?

Alpha quickly accepted this.

For her, her Lord was the most outstanding person in the Origin Sea. No matter what happened, she wouldn’t find it strange.

However, Elaouthr wouldn’t accept Liora’s one-sided words.

He chuckled.

“I must admit that your rate of recovery is impressive. I don’t know what method you used to achieve this.”

“However, this is ultimately not a matter of strength, but a matter of vision.”

“I don’t know how strong you were in your previous life, but the limits of this world are there. No matter how mighty you were, you should have been in the same stage as me.”

“There’s no way your vision and knowledge are greater than mine…”

Elaouthr’s words praised Liora, but also himself secretly.

It was as though he was claiming to have reached the limit of the Cosmic Universe. There might be people stronger than him, but they would be in the same stage as he was.

Yet, Elaouthr had no chance to continue his boasting.

Before he could speak any further, his expression suddenly changed.

He stared at the scene unfolding before him with widened eyes.

There, he could see Liora casually wave her hand in the air in front of her, a tiny golden light shining in her palm as she did so.

Under her blow, the space began to shatter.

Layer after layer was split open.

One. One hundred. One thousand.

The deeper one went, the higher the strength required to go any further would become.

If the force needed to shatter the first space layer was 1, then shattering the tenth was 1000. For the one-hundredth layer, it would reach millions.

Thankfully, for Liora’s quasi-Rank 12 strength, doing so was a simple matter.

Not only did she shatter those space layers with ease, but her blow continued unabated.

With a clang, it finally reached the very last layer, sending a ripple through the entire fortress.

It was that exact moment that Elaouthr was stunned.

That was because Liora’s blow did not stop there.

Under his incredulous eyes, it split through one more space layer, revealing a void that had previously not existed from his point of view.

That void was filled with holy golden light and accompanied by a sense of majesty.

It was as though this was the place where the Gods resided.

But the moment Elaouthr saw such a beautiful place, he showed no happiness at all.

The Kingdom of Gods seemed to have awakened the slumbering will he had previously suppressed.

Once more, the unknown cultivator showed signs of waking up and attempted to take control over his body once more.
