Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 666: Human Emperor

Chapter 666: Human Emperor

Liora’s words were shocking.

Although the fact that the other party had not stepped out of this golden prison to fight against them showcased that he had to adhere to certain limitations, this didn’t necessarily mean that he was truly weak.

There were also other explanations for this.

For example, there might be something rendering him unable to leave the golden prison.

Another example would be that he had other plans for them and simply let them escape.

Either way, facing this mysterious man, whose recovery process appeared far better than Elaouthr’s, it made sense that they should be apprehensive and cautious.

It was exactly because of this that both Elaouthr and Alpha were stunned by Liora’s words.

Wasn’t she simply trying to offend the man?

While preparing themselves for a potential fight, with the former digesting the power he had just obtained and the latter calling upon her Mechanical Army, they waited to see how the cultivator would respond.

Yet… nothing.

No sound or speech.

Only silence shrouded the surroundings.

Neither the man nor Liora spoke any further, merely sizing each other up as though she hadn’t said those words at all.

Thankfully, the silence did not last for long.

After several long minutes, the man finally spoke for the very first time.

“Can you be certain that I’m currently in a weak state and pose no threat to you?”

“You previously interfered with my faith. You must understand that I’ve been absorbing it for billions of years.”

“Can you guess how much of my strength has recovered? What would happen if I were to burn it?”, the man asked several rhetorical questions.

Contrary to what one would expect from a powerhouse of his level, his voice was neither mighty nor overwhelming.

Rather, it was plain and ordinary, a voice that would get lost in a crowd and be quickly forgotten.

It perfectly matched his ordinary appearance, though it heavily contrasted the majestic aura accompanying his every move.

Liora maintained her unhurried expression upon hearing this.

She didn’t show any fear regarding what he was implying—that he could be her opponent.

She even went ahead and smiled faintly.

“There is no reason to pretend. You have already seen that I understand the power of faith very well.”, she spoke before shaking her head.

“You might be able to fool most people of this Era and some creatures of the previous ones since faith is relatively rare and hard to encounter.”

“But such tricks won’t work against me…”

Liora raised her head to look into his eyes.

Immediately, vast amounts of faith poured out of the Cosmic Sea and subsequently flowed out of her body.

They didn’t disperse in the air.

Instead, they gathered behind her, fusing into a mighty figure formed solely out of pure faith.

The figure had Liora’s appearance.

Red hair. Crimson eyes. Beautiful facial features.

Yet unlike her true form, which was accompanied by an ever-lasting mysterious aura and total indifference, the figure was completely different.

It held a sword in its hand, like a knight ready to charge into battle.

Countless tiny spirits danced around it, cupping their hands as though praying to it.

An azure crown was resting on the silhouette’s head, exuding an aura that made everyone feel familiar.

It was not the aura of faith. That was already a given from Liora’s previous words.

What surprised everyone was the sense of majesty the figure naturally emanated.

It was comparable to that of the mysterious, except it seemed slightly… purer?

Yes.

That was the best way to describe it.

Facing this figure, the words “Empress”, “Royalty”, and “Ruler” would immediately surface in everyone’s minds.

At the same time, however, another title would emerge, regardless of whether they knew its true meaning.

“Human Emperor!”, Elaouthr couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, his voice filled with shock.

He recognized that aura.

It belonged to the Human Emperor!

This was not a title referring to the ruler of the Human Race like the ancestors of the Human Federation, but a title that carried a completely different meaning, transcending the concept of Eras and even the Cosmic Universe itself.

“Was this woman the Human Emperor in her previous life?”, Elaouthr wondered.

Recalling his demon identity and their previous interactions, he felt a shiver run down his spine.

On the other hand, the man also recognized that aura and knew very well what it entailed.

Even so, his reaction was far from as intense.

“I always thought the Human Emperor was an ancient legend. A tale left by the previous civilizations.”

“I didn’t expect that someone had indeed managed to obtain the status of a Human Emperor in the past.”

His gaze shifted away from Liora and settled on Alpha.

He raised his eyebrows.

“There is even someone else who has begun to condense the True Emperor’s status. I don’t recognize their race, but it should be quite powerful.”

“This…”, the man shook his head.

“No wonder you are so arrogant. It seems that leaving this space here was a mistake.”

The man’s words were somewhat mysterious.

However, Liora didn’t require an explanation.

She had already understood such things long ago.

More precisely, when she plundered the essence within the formation’s core and upgraded the Human Emperor Star one more time.

Human Emperor. True Emperor.

These were both related, statuses within the Cosmic Universe.

The title True Emperor referred to individuals who carried the destiny of an entire race.

No one knew exactly how one could obtain the status of a True Emperor, nor what abilities they would obtain as a result.

Some had tried building an empire. Others had tried to break the shackles of their respective bloodlines.

No matter what, all such experiments had ended in failure.

As such, they had always remained mere legends, with people doubting whether True Emperors existed.

Yet now, Liora knew.

They did. And with her, there were now two of them.

“Alpha has already begun to condense the status of the Mechanical Emperor long ago. Her ability to suppress and assimilate Mechanical beings comes exactly from this.”

“As for me…”, Liora’s eyes narrowed.

She moved her gaze away from the cultivator and looked at the humans living their lives below, not knowing that their peaceful lives were about to change.

Her mind stirred. The Human Emperor’s status was activated.

The result was immediate.

The faith of every human within the golden cage, which had originally been flowing toward the unknown cultivator, had now changed direction.

It no longer flowed toward him to serve as fuel to sustain his existence, but instead rushed toward Liora.

The Human Emperor Star absorbed all this faith, enhancing the Law it represented.

On the other hand, the cultivator’s aura was rapidly drained away, as though sucked by an invisible being.

Although he had already expected this upon seeing the figure behind Liora, the man still felt a mixture of emotions, never expecting the battle had been decided before it even began.

He let out a heavy sigh.

The “offer” Liora had just given him surfaced in his mind once more.

To surrender, or to die?

His mind rapidly moved between these two options.

In the end…
