Chapter 665: Faith & Opportunity

Liora and the unknown being remained in confrontation for several seconds.

Just when their auras were starting to subside, and it seemed that they would finally communicate, however, the arrival of a person ruined everything.

“AAAGH!”

The instant Elaouthr landed, a powerful force assaulted his soul.

The will he had been trying to suppress all this time began to riot once more.

This time, its reaction was more violent than ever.

A loud shout escaped his lips, even given Elaouthr’s composure. His wailing screams echoed through the world.

The golden prison seemed to resonate with the slumbering will.

Golden particles emerged from the creatures throughout the golden cage, rushing toward him and pouring into his body.

His strength increased as a result. His aura climbed upwards, and he was ready to regain his original strength.

Yet Elaouthr was far from happy.

The power of the slumbering will also grew increasingly stronger, threatening to break the balance between the two and use this body to be reborn in this world.

Elaouthr waved his hands in an attempt to sever his connection with the outside world, stopping the energy from pouring in.

He went as far as to shatter the space around him, wishing to create a small pocket of space that only he could exist in.

Unfortunately, his efforts all proved worthless.

No matter what method he used, he found himself unable to resist the unknown force.

Yes. Unknown.

This was the greatest difficulty that Elaouthr was facing.

He couldn’t recognize the energy affecting him and thus had no way to resist it.

He could only instinctively fight against it, using his raw strength to contain some of the impact.

The result, however, remained the same.

The unknown powerhouse would eventually awaken. It was only a matter of time.

The most he could do was delay the process for a few minutes.

Liora couldn’t help but frown as she watched this scene unfold.

She stared at the powerhouse standing not far away and then at Elaouthr.

A trace of realization flashed across her face. The frown on her face quickly faded away.

A disappointed look replaced it.

“I already told you that you’re really weak and asked you to be careful. Yet…”, she sighed.

“I truly don’t know whether it’s worth it to keep cooperating with you.”

“Perhaps it would be better to give you up for another, stronger ally.”

Her words clearly reached Elaouthr’s ears.

Strangely, despite the overwhelming pain that had caused him to freeze, he was able to hear her words clearly, as though she was standing right next to him.

Unfortunately, this only worked to further strengthen his misery.

Thankfully for him, Liora soon continued.

“But since we’ve already spent so much time together, there’s no reason to be so ruthless. Alas…”, she let out a deep breath.

“You’re quite fortunate to have met a kind person like me. Anyone else would have abandoned you long ago.”

The moment she finished speaking, Liora waved her hand.

She didn’t launch an attack.

Instead, she formed a tiny black hole on top of her palm, formed purely out of revolving cosmic dust.

Its devouring force descended upon the golden cage.

Seeing her actions, Elaouthr, who had been closely following her movements, wished to curse at her.

If getting rid of this energy were that simple, he would have already done so!

Why would he need to request her help?

But just when these words were about to come out of his mouth, his expression suddenly changed.

Under his shocked eyes, the black hole actually attracted the golden specks of light rushing toward him and devoured them in a single second.

The source of the newly emerging force in his body immediately disappeared.

The original owner of this body lost his source of power and returned to slumber.

Even so, Elaouthr was still stunned.

Had he known what was happening inside Liora’s body, he would have been even more stunned.

Countless golden lights had unknowingly appeared within the Cosmic Sea.

They surrounded the Law Stars, gently seeping into them and nourishing them.

They were far from the only ones doing so.

Besides these golden specks of light, several other types of light could be seen, greater in both volume and purity.

These lights had existed there long before the golden lights appeared. Long before Liora’s creation of the Cosmic Sea.

They were wisps of faith!

Liora had come into contact with this power in the worlds before the Cosmic Universe, but she had only gained the ability to absorb it in the Blood Forest Realm.

Yet since then, she had failed to gain any new believers.

The faith, which could permanently enhance her comprehension of Laws, had gradually fallen behind and been nearly forgotten about.

Now, however, it showed a hint of revitalization.

Watching the golden light fuse with the Law Stars and improve their strength, Liora couldn’t help but feel a trace of joy in her heart.

Especially when she recalled the golden cage in reality.

She knew this was the opportunity she had come to the ancient city in search of!

She wasted no time within the Cosmic Sea.

After splitting a tiny portion of her consciousness to observe the subsequent changes, the rest of her attention shifted back to reality.

Liora opened her eyes once more.

Although she had spent some time observing the faith, it had only taken her a split second.

The pain in Elaouthr’s mind had yet to fade away, while the unknown powerhouse was still watching them both.

Sensing his gaze and feeling the trace of curiosity in his eyes, Liora suddenly spoke.

“Elaouthr previously mentioned that you had likely made more preparations for your eventual rebirth. Is this place also one of them?”, she questioned, her gaze sweeping through the golden cage subconsciously.

Through the traces left by time, she could tell that this place had existed for a very long time.

Millions, perhaps even billions of years.

Thinking of how all the creatures inside had likely been producing faith throughout all this time, her eyes couldn’t help but turn red.

She made a decision.

She had to obtain this faith no matter what.

Her intuition told her this was the opportunity she had been looking for all this time!

But before that, she had to deal with something else first. Or rather, with someone else.

“I’ll give you one chance.”

“Surrender, or die!”
