Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 700: Technique & Request

Chapter 700: Technique & Request

Faced with Anna’s question, Liora chuckled.

“You should know this better than me.”

“Although the refinement has reached its final stage, the Hollow Ancestor still has to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of years in order to succeed.”

“For the Cosmic Universe and other powerhouses, such an amount of time is inconsequential. But for me…”

Liora did not speak any further.

She merely urged her True Spirit, showing her current age.

Not the age of her body, but that of the soul itself.

The moment a trace of its aura appeared, Anna’s eyes widened.

Although she was not a Devil and her control over souls was not as strong, her identity as the Information World meant that she had come into contact with countless souls.

As such, she could roughly estimate their lifespans with a single glance.

Upon sensing Liora’s True Spirit, she realized something.

Liora… was extremely young!

Even if she couldn’t pinpoint her exact age, Anna could be certain that she was less than a thousand years old.

“How… How is this possible?” she couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

Even with her identity as the Will born in the Information World, she seemed unable to comprehend what was happening.

She couldn’t be blamed for her gaffe.

Which Rank 11 being had not lived for millions of years?

It would not be surprising if Liora, a being that could contend against Rank 13 Awakeners, had lived for billions of years.

Learning that she had only lived for less than a thousand years caused Anna to suffer heavy mental damage.

She smiled wryly.

Her and humanity’s greatest trump card for their cooperation had been lost.

She understood that Liora’s words about leaving the Cosmic Universe were actually true!

In less than a thousand years, she had managed to become a Rank 13 being. If she were given another thousand years, wouldn’t she be able to transcend?

By that point, even if the Hollow Ancestor had refined this world and grown more powerful as a result, she would have nothing to fear.

Gradually, a trace of despair was born in Anna’s heart.

On the other hand, Liora watched the emotions constantly changing on the other party’s face and nodded in satisfaction inwardly.

This was exactly what she was hoping to achieve.

She needed these people to know that they were the ones who needed her. Not the other way around.

This would give her the upper hand in their inevitable agreement.

As for why an agreement was inevitable?

The reason was simple.

“If I want to leave this universe, I have to kill the Hollow Ancestor!”

Her bet against this Ancient Devil had been made under the witness of the Demon World.

Even now, after her advancement, there would only be a single result awaiting her if she dared to break the terms of their agreement.

She would be directly annihilated!

As for staying in the universe and slowly accumulating strength until she was strong enough to overpower the Hollow Ancestor?

This was equally impossible.

Liora had already exhausted all her trump cards and resources during this time. Unless something changed, her speed of progress would slow down for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, the opportunities within the Cosmic Universe had already been exhausted.

Most had been obtained by other Awakeners. The rest had already been plundered by Liora.

Thus, an agreement between her and the human race was inevitable.

However, it had to be done on her own terms.

Liora’s eyes narrowed.

She looked at Anna in front of her, who appeared to be deliberating over her next words, and then glanced at the gate leading to the Human Realm.

As her mind connected with the memories of the Human Emperor Clone, a smile slowly appeared on her face.

She followed up on her previous words.

“Of course, the human race has helped me tremendously during this time. Had it not been for you, I wouldn’t have reached this point so quickly.

“Since that’s the case, it’s not impossible to help you deal with the Hollow Ancestor.”

“It’s just that you are going to have to pay a certain price if you wish to get my help.”

These words didn’t make Anna happy. If anything, it made her apprehensive and cautious.

She knew that whatever her “niece’s” requests were, they were bound to be anything but ordinary.

Indeed.

Upon hearing what price humanity would have to pay in order to receive her assistance, Anna’s expression changed.

A mix of shock and anger appeared on her face, her aura trembling violently.

Within the Human Realm, Liora’s Human Emperor Clone sat with its eyes tightly closed.

The Human Emperor’s Book constantly danced around her figure, causing hymns to humanity to ring out within the small room.

For Liora, each of these hymns was a small piece of an enormous puzzle.

Slowly but surely, they gathered together in her mind, fusing seamlessly.

Until finally, they transformed into a complete technique. Similar to the Awakener techniques of this world, yet much more powerful.

At that moment, the Human Emperor Clone finally opened its eyes.

A terrifying azure light flashed across her pupils, while the Human Emperor Sword at her waist trembled, as though resonating with her aura.

It took several seconds before her momentum finally retreated and the extraordinary phenomena to stop.

Even so, the majesty around her appeared to have grown even stronger as a result.

For a moment, its aura even surpassed Liora’s true body.

“It deserves to be the trump card left behind by that formidable figure.” Liora sighed.

“Human Emperor Technique…”

“By gathering the faith and luck of humanity and bestowing it upon a person bearing the Human Emperor’s status, an invincible powerhouse can be created.”

“The enhancement in strength is limitless.”

“If enough faith and luck are gathered, that powerhouse may well surpass the Ancient Devil stage and perhaps even the Princess of the Demon World stage,” she muttered under her breath.

With the connection between the two bodies reestablished, Liora’s main consciousness had long controlled the clone.

Their memories were linked.

This technique, combined with Anna’s words, caused a terrifying thought to start taking root in her mind.

At that exact moment, her true body in the outside world finally stated her request.

“Impossible!” Anna’s furious voice soon rang out.
