Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 701: Visit & Request

Chapter 701: Visit & Request

“Father! Father! Do I really have to go?”

A young girl held onto the sleeve of a rough, middle-aged man, her eyes teary and red from crying.

Her black hair was tied into a ponytail that fell down her back, while her youthful face still shone with immaturity.

Seeing her behave like this, the middle-aged man sighed. He gently patted her head.

“Janna, don’t act like a child. What’s wrong with attending a School? How is it any different from enrolling in an Academy?”

The girl, Janna, bit her lip.

She wanted to say something, but looking at the gentle look on her father’s face, she ultimately swallowed her words.

She watched as her father controlled her to fly further, entering a planet and stopping in front of a large estate.

Janna lowered her head. A complex of buildings came into view.

Several young people could be seen weaving through them in a hurry, with some sparring near a large plaza. They were not too strong, merely Rank 1 and Rank 2 Awakeners.

Still, every battle was fierce, as though they were ready to decide life and death in the arena.

“Human School…” Janna whispered, recognizing the building.

The Human School was an organization that had become famous throughout the Human Federation over the past year.

The reason was that countless such schools had popped up all over the federation within a matter of months.

One had to know that the Cosmic Universe was vast.

For a power to have the ability to achieve this, there had to be a supreme powerhouse in charge.

Perhaps… even an Emperor!

Despite this, Janna did not feel any longing toward the Human School.

After all, her father was also an Emperor! The ancestral figure of a Super Academy!

How could a mere Human School possibly compare to him?

In her opinion, there was no reason for her to join a mere school!

Unfortunately, although Janna had many grievances in her heart, she could only hide them and follow her father obediently.

A few hours later, Janna found herself standing in a vast hall.

Besides her father, there was only a single other person in the room.

A woman.

Yet what caught her attention was not the other party’s gender.

Rather, it was that despite facing her father, a famous Rank 10 Emperor and a true powerhouse among that Rank, the woman remained calm and showed no reverence for him.

“Another Emperor!” Janna realized!

The rumors were true!

The Human School indeed had an Emperor in charge!

Yet upon seeing the woman act so casually in front of her father, Janna was full of complaints.

“Hmph! So what if you’re an Emperor?! How many Emperors has my father killed over the years?” she snorted inwardly.

However, just as she was thinking that the woman in front of her was overestimating herself, her father’s next words left her mouth hanging open.

“Your Excellency, it’s been a while.”

What had she seen?

Her father, one of the strongest people in the entire Human Federation, was now respectfully greeting another person.

This…

Janna rubbed her eyes, wondering whether she had unknowingly fallen into an illusion.

Yet no matter how hard she tried to wake herself up, nothing changed.

The situation remained the same.

“How… How is this possible?!”

On the other hand, the two other people in the room did not pay any heed to Janna’s thoughts.

Although they felt that there was something wrong with her as she stared at the pair absent-mindedly, they didn’t think much of it.

Liora looked at the man before her.

After several long seconds, she smiled faintly.

“It’s indeed been a while…”

“However, it seems that your current state is not very good. Have you not recovered from the injuries you suffered in the ancient city even after so long?”

The middle-aged man smiled wryly.

“Your Excellency is joking. For beings of our level, a mere year is nothing.”

“Especially for injuries sustained from fighting such a being, it’s impossible to recover in just a year. It will take a lot of time.”

“Your Excellency, on the other hand…” The man lightly shook his head.

“I’ve learned about the Human School’s expansion. I’m afraid that it won’t be long before it surpasses the War Academy and every other Super-Grade Academy in the federation.”

The conversation between the two revealed the man’s identity.

He was the apex powerhouse among Rank 10 Emperors, the ancestor of the War Academy, the famous War God! The man feared by countless races!

Although he and Liora had not had many interactions, every single one of them was significant.

He could be said to be one of the people Liora knew best in this universe.

Unfortunately, this old acquaintance of hers didn’t seem to be in good condition.

Just as he said, his injuries had yet to heal.

With a quick glance, Liora could tell that it would take centuries, perhaps even thousands of years, for him to regain his full strength.

Under normal circumstances, this was nothing.

However, given the impending doom of the Human Federation and the Cosmic Universe as a whole, he couldn’t afford to waste so much time. His current weakness could very well prove fatal.

Liora’s thoughts raced.

Soon, she understood why he had gone out of his way to visit her instead of retreating and working to recover from his injuries.

She turned toward the girl beside him with a smile.

“Is this your daughter?”

“Tsk. Tsk.” She clicked her tongue.

“The next generation is better than the previous one.”

“I can see that she only awakened her Talent this year. Yet she is already a Rank 3 Awakener.”

“Hisss… How terrifying…” She took a deep breath, as though astonished by the young girl’s progress.

An 18-year-old Rank 3 Awakener was indeed extraordinary and could be considered a top-tier genius.

Janna and the War God had a reason to be proud.

Unfortunately, the War God was not happy when he heard Liora’s praise.

Had it come from anyone else, especially a person of that level, he might have been smug about it. But when it came from Liora’s mouth, it sounded more like ridicule in his ears.

He knew very well that Liora was not even 20 years old yet!

But she had already become a terrifying being surpassing Rank 10, powerful enough to make the Human Federation tremble with a single wave of her hand.

Although there were reasons she had managed to achieve this that were not replicable, the War God still could not feel happy despite knowing this.

“Cough, cough.” He cleared his throat to hide his embarrassment.

“Your Excellency is joking. My daughter is nothing in front of your talent,” he said before grabbing Janna’s shoulder and pulling her in front of him.

“Still, my daughter is quite talented. I’ve learned that Your Excellency has only recently established the Human School.”

“You’re bound to be looking for new talents. How about you accept my daughter as your disciple?”
