Chapter 703: Lady in White
Chapter 703: Lady in White
Glancing at the white-haired woman’s back leading the way, Janna looked ready to say something.
Yet just as her lips parted and the words were about to come out, she suddenly stopped. A trace of surprise flashed across her face.
It was only then that she finally noticed something.
The white-haired woman’s aura… was terrifying.
Although it was not necessarily as strong as that of her father, it was more powerful than most of the Instructors she had met while at the War Academy.
This, combined with the earlier conversation, left her wondering.
Just what was going on in the Human School?
How could such a person possibly be tasked with guiding newly enrolled students? Had everyone gone insane?
The woman guiding did not seem to know her thoughts.
Without looking back, she continued weaving through the corridors while taking the time to explain a few things.
“The Human School does not have any requirements or rules, besides forbidding fighting outside the dedicated arena.”
“Similarly, you won’t have any responsibilities or tasks you need to perform. Whether you stay in the school or purchase a home outside, no one will care.”
Saying this, the white-haired woman continued speaking.
She talked about the Human School as a whole, explaining the missions, the system, and subtly pointing out its power structure.
It didn’t take long.
A few minutes later, the white-haired woman stopped in front of a statue.
“We’re here…” she whispered, snapping Janna out of her thinking mode.
When the young woman raised her head, she discovered herself standing before an enormous stone statue.
She found its appearance familiar.
A light bulb soon lit up inside her mind.
She recognized it.
It was a statue of the woman she had met before!
The only difference was that the statue looked slightly more majestic, as though bearing the heavy burden of guarding humanity.
Had any powerful Awakener been in her shoes, such as the War God, they would have been astonished upon looking at the statue. This did not seem to be a statue at all!
It was the condensation of huge amounts of faith!
But with her strength, Janna failed to discover its true nature.
She only sneered inwardly, feeling that Liora was truly narcissistic, making a statue of herself and placing it in her own school. Even her father had not done so!
Just as countless complaints were racing through her mind, the female guide suddenly spoke up.
“Extend your consciousness and touch the statue with it. As for what you gain, it will depend on yourself,” she said indifferently.
Her voice seemed to carry a strange power.
Before Janna could realize what was happening, her consciousness had left her body and gently touched the statue.
The moment it did, her vision suddenly went blank.
For a moment, she seemed to have appeared in a vast starry sky containing billions of tiny stars.
Planets, continents, and other structures surrounded them, making the scene look magnificent and captivating.
At the center of this starry sky stood a giant figure.
Its appearance was inexplicable and incomprehensible, impossible to make out even when staring directly at it.
It was as though the figure stood in a higher dimension, preventing ordinary creatures from peering into its information.
Janna’s arrival in this place seemed to have awakened it.
With a move, the figure extended its hand and pointed a finger at her.
A thunderous boom echoed within Janna’s mind.
A torrent of information flooded her brain. As that information was gradually digested and its pieces were put together, a technique slowly took form.
Human Force Technique.
A Technique suitable for Awakeners below the Emperor level, guiding them from Rank 1 to the comprehension of Laws.
It took several hours before Janna managed to digest it.
Even so, only a tiny part of it had actually been processed, merely the levels corresponding to Rank 1, Rank 2, and Rank 3.
In reality, Janna opened her eyes. Only a few seconds had passed since she touched the statue.
A profound look flashed across her face.
“Such an unfathomable technique…” she muttered under her breath and couldn’t help but wonder what that mysterious figure in the starry sky was.
A Rank 11 being? A God?
But halfway through that thought, Janna felt her mind go blank.
It was as if a high-level power was wiping away her memories.
Within moments, both the starry sky and the mysterious figure had disappeared from her mind. She did not even know it herself.
The only thing she could remember was the technique. As for how she had obtained it, she couldn’t remember anything about it.
“Have you finally woken up?” A voice suddenly snapped her back to the present.
“It seems that you’ve received various benefits. Since that’s the case, there is no reason to waste any time.”
“Return to your assigned room and digest the insights you’ve just obtained. If you need anything, you can ask the school’s teachers for instructions.”
The moment those words fell, Janna found that the white-haired woman who had originally been standing beside her had unknowingly disappeared.
Only she and the statue remained.
Janna, however, had no time to pay attention to it.
She was still engrossed in the technique in her mind, as well as the bizarreness of the situation around it.
—
“Has that girl obtained a technique?”
A few minutes later, Liora’s voice echoed throughout the hall.
The white-haired woman immediately nodded.
“Yes, my Lord.” She bowed respectfully.
“I’ve already taken her to the Human Emperor Statue. She seems to have obtained a high-level technique.”
Saying that, she hesitated briefly.
“My Lord, do you wish to tell the instructors to provide her with secret assistance? I can sense that this girl has extraordinary potential.”
“Perhaps she can become an Emperor in the future. Even going beyond that is possible.”
Combined with the fact that Liora had personally asked her to guide Janna, the white-haired woman couldn’t help but guess that this was her purpose.
Much to her surprise, however, Liora merely shook her head.
“There is no need. Whether she stands out among the students or not will depend on her own hard work and opportunities…”
“There is no reason to force anything.”
What Liora did not say was that an Emperor was nothing to the current her.
The help it could provide was minimal.
If she wanted, she could create hundreds of Emperors with a single thought.
She only attached some importance to Janna because of her relationship with the War God.
As for her talent? She didn’t care.
Liora would not say this in front of the white-haired woman.
After a brief pause, she turned toward her and calmly observed her.
The white-haired woman couldn’t help but tremble instinctively upon sensing her gaze.
She felt as though everything about her was being seen through. All her secrets. All her powers.
This feeling made her heart tremble, giving her the illusion that she was standing naked before Liora’s eyes.
Fortunately, Liora soon withdrew her gaze.
Before the woman had time to breathe a sigh of relief, though, her next words changed her expression.
“You’ve been wasting a lot of time dealing with the affairs of the Human School. Your own strength has already fallen behind.”
“Tsk. Tsk.” She clicked her tongue.
“You’re truly wasting your title as the Lady in White. I truly don’t know why I chose you as my pet…” She sighed.
