Chapter 711: Confrontation
Chapter 711: Confrontation
Liora immediately realized that she had reached her destination.
It would have been strange if she hadn’t.
The endless World Origin that had solidified. The two familiar powers crashing against each other, engaged in a fierce confrontation.
An invisible pressure that constantly crashed down on her, wanting to drive everything about her to extinction. Any Awakener below Rank 13 would have perished instantly.
Altogether, Liora knew that she had reached the core of the Cosmic Universe!
More precisely, the place where its Will lay.
She did not rush to take action. Instead, she chose to investigate this place first.
Her gaze slowly swept through her surroundings.
The first thing that attracted her attention was, of course, the World Origin.
It was truly infinite.
With a single breath, Liora felt that she had absorbed more World Origin than she had throughout her entire journey. Taking a breath in this place was akin to devouring more than a dozen low- and medium-level worlds.
“It deserves to be a high-level world that contains beings like the Human Ruler.”
“Even if something has gone wrong with it and it was in a state of constant reconstruction, the amount of World Origin it has accumulated far surpasses any non-high-level world.
The white of the World Origin was reflected in her eyes, causing their crimson to deepen.
In the past, she had been a World Devourer, a Devil that practically feasted on World Origin.
Now, though not one, she could devour World Origin to improve the Cosmic Sea and indirectly raise her strength.
As such, her first thought upon seeing such a large amount of World Origin was to rush forward to devour it all.
However, she quickly suppressed that impulse.
For no other reason than that she could sense two powers rushing toward her and probing her.
One was chaotic and filled with negative emotions.
The other was orderly and originally intimate. Yet when the thought of absorbing the World Origin took root in her mind, it was angered. It seemed ready to team up with the chaotic will and gang up on her.
Liora immediately knew she could not afford to touch these things for now. She had no intention of making them her enemy.
Her gaze moved, tracing the two powers back to their owners.
Instantly, she noticed two beings confronting each other in the distance.
One had an immaterial form, its body seemingly constructed from golden mist and runes. It shone like a sun, its power spreading out like threads to confront its opponent.
Unfortunately, it found itself at a disadvantage.
The being it was facing was not only more powerful, but also possessed more exquisite control over its power.
Liora recognized them.
A young man with an ordinary appearance but the bearing of a Demon Lord. His eyes were indifferent and ruthless, showing no emotional fluctuation at all.
Several wounds riddled his body, but he didn’t pay any attention to them. He continued to confront the golden mist without saying a word.
Slowly but surely, he gained the upper hand.
Although the man’s form had now become illusory and his aura had changed, Liora would never mistake him.
This man was the Hollow Ancestor!
Her archenemy and the reason she had arrived in this world!
The moment her eyes landed on his figure, a faint smile appeared on her face.
“It’s been a while since we last met…”
“It seems that we two have an unfortunate fate…”
A soft sigh escaped her lips.
Then, before the Hollow Ancestor could respond, she ignored the surrounding World Origin and approached the two.
Within moments, she had entered their battlefield.
Seeing her no longer target its World Origin, the Will of the Cosmic Universe regained its intimate attitude.
It allowed Liora to step close to it, while part of its own power receded, seemingly making way for her.
To this, Liora did not respond.
Like a tired traveler, she sat on the “ground” of the void.
Countless azure threads emerged from her body. Cooperating with those of the Will of the Cosmic Universe, they began confronting the Hollow Ancestor.
There was no use of abilities or sheer physical might.
The three beings appeared to be engaged in a meaningless battle, with three threads of different colors colliding.
It seemed unworthy of their status at first glance. But if a being at the level of the Human Ruler were here to witness it, he would be shocked.
The three were not fighting using their strength, but by employing their concepts.
The Will of the Cosmic Universe unleashed the power of Order, trying to destroy every anomaly and turn everything back to its predetermined path.
The Hollow Ancestor’s chaotic power directly countered it. Everything that touched it was divided into countless selves, each following a different timeline.
Liora raised her eyebrows.
It was no wonder that the Hollow Ancestor had been able to make the Will of the Cosmic Universe constantly retreat, gaining authority over the universe itself.
It was not only because the Will had been injured, but also because his power pointed directly to the Will’s greatest weakness.
Combined with his own strength, his victory was not surprising at all.
But now, things were bound to change.
The azure threads extending from her body lashed out.
Liora’s most powerful Law since her arrival in this World had always been Predation. Working as the cornerstone of the Cosmic Sea within her, it was also the Law that had received the most benefits.
Yet in the confrontation against the Hollow Ancestor, she didn’t choose to use Predation.
Likewise, she didn’t choose to use familiar concepts like Destruction, Time, Space, or even Dragon.
Much to the Hollow Ancestor’s surprise, an unfamiliar Law emerged from her.
He failed to recognize it at first. It was only after a closer investigation that he was able to see some clues.
When he finally confirmed the identity of the Law, a trace of surprise flashed across his face.
“Humanity…?” he whispered, unable to hide the tremor in his voice.
