Chapter 726: Confrontation
Chapter 726: Confrontation
Although the other party had not shown up and had only appeared as a single eye, Liora unleashed her full strength from the very beginning.
She directly used her strongest offense.
One Across Eternity!
The moment she activated this powerful technique, all the imprints she had left along the River of Time mimicked her movements, performing the same move as her.
They all raised their hands in unison before lightly extending their fingers.
For a moment, it seemed as though their strength had flowed through the River of Time, merging into the “present” Liora.
A great sense of oppression emanated from her body before a light shot out from her fingertips.
It looked exactly the same as the gray light it was facing—aside from the fact that it was red instead.
With their respective strengths, their attacks moved at an astonishing speed.
A moment later, Liora’s strongest technique and the attack of the unknown being finally collided.
The expected confrontation did not occur.
Liora’s blow, which could threaten Rank 14 Awakeners, crumbled in the blink of an eye.
The gray light continued unabated without slowing down in the slightest, striking directly at her.
Soon, the light disappeared into her body.
It did not cause her any physical harm.
At least, not at first.
A moment later, however, Liora’s consciousness was occupied by Nothingness.
Gray miasma appeared and swirled around her body. She began to melt.
Even the Cosmic Sea within her was affected.
Law Star after Law Star dimmed, and worlds shattered continuously, seemingly unable to withstand the pressure.
Liora could do nothing to stop this.
Her mind remained cloudy, as though it had been moved to another space and had become disconnected from her real body.
Fortunately, just when it seemed that her demise was certain, the crown on her head suddenly trembled.
The power of the Cosmic Universe surged, merging into her.
Under its power, she was forcefully brought back to reality.
Sensing her current condition, Liora reacted quickly.
A silver blade emerged above her melting body and struck downward.
The next moment, she split apart.
A new Liora emerged from within the shell.
Gray and black runes danced across her body, her momentum stronger than half a second ago.
The former runes came from the power of Nothingness from the unknown being. As for the latter, it was the result of the black lightning she had previously endured.
Under the influence of Return to the Origin, both of these powers had now turned her nourishment.
Liora had no time to feel happy, though.
She could sense that she had not fully expelled the influence of the gray light just yet.
It had not only attacked her present self.
It had directly targeted her past as well.
The power of Nothingness seeped through the River of Time, crossing different eras, gray droplets dripping down from the sky onto each Liora.
Although each imprint carried the same strength as Liora’s current self, they did not have the power to contend with a Prince of the Demon World.
“Sure enough, fighting against a being of this level based solely on my own strength is impossible.”
“Let alone defeating them, a Prince of the Demon World can defeat me with a single strike through time and space, rendering all my backups and trump cards invalid,” Liora whispered.
However, she did not panic.
Her source of confidence for daring to stand here instead of escaping was not her own strength.
Rather, it was the Cosmic Universe.
Having estimated her own strength and fully understood the gap between her and the unknown being, Liora no longer held back.
Her authority over the Cosmic Universe was fully unleashed.
Immediately, her strength soared to a terrifying level.
Every Liora raised her head, causing the power of Nothingness dripping from the future to disperse.
Sensing the sense of impending doom disappear, Liora looked toward the spatial rift.
She waved her hand.
Countless runes flowed out of her palms, weaving together into a membrane that fired forward.
Then, like bricks being placed by an invisible hand, they began to spread along the gap.
It did not take long.
Moments later, the Land of Nothingness had almost disappeared.
Although the being behind it seemed unwilling to accept this and constantly attacked, its power had weakened after passing through time and space to reach here.
There was nothing it could do to the Cosmic Universe.
At the very least, nothing that could threaten the world or Liora.
Still, before the gap was completely sealed, a furious roar echoed from the other side.
Liora could almost see the other being emerge from the sea of Nothingness.
A deafening roar echoed in her mind.
“My efforts of so many years!”
“You! I’ll remember you!”
The voice seemed ready to continue.
Unfortunately, the last missing section of the spatial rift soon disappeared.
The Land of Nothingness vanished, and together with it, the unknown creature did as well.
Liora subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.
Facing such a creature, she had previously been under tremendous pressure.
Thankfully, she had already gained control over the universe. Otherwise, the other party could have killed her with a single glance.
Of course, although it was dangerous, Liora felt it had been absolutely worth it.
Not only because she had resolved the biggest issue plaguing the Cosmic Universe, but also because she now had a real estimate of her own strength.
“Without urging my authority over the universe, I should be a relatively powerful Primordial Ancient Devil. If I were to advance to an Antiquity Devil, my combat prowess should reach the pinnacle of that stage.”
“As for when I use the Cosmic Universe…”
Liora paused briefly, considering everything.
“…I should be an extremely weak Princess of the Demon World.”
“Other beings of the same level can defeat me and have a chance of suppressing me. But anyone below that level can be easily killed.”
Unless she encountered a true Prince of the Demon World, Liora was invincible. Even against a Prince of the Demon World, she had a chance of escaping.
Thinking of this, Liora’s face broke into a faint smile.
This was an unexpected benefit, something she had never expected when she first arrived in this world.
In her opinion, it would have been good enough if she had only obtained the Hollow Ancestor’s possessions.
Controlling the Cosmic Universe had never been her goal.
However, she had achieved it!
“Moreover, with the opening to the Land of Nothingness sealed, the universe is finally a functional world.”
“It can begin accumulating World Origin and operate normally once again.”
This was extremely important for Liora.
Not only would this allow the Cosmic Universe to grow more powerful, but the accumulated World Origin could also serve as fuel for Profane Offering, increasing her “base” strength as well.
The more Liora thought about it, the wider her smile became.
She could already imagine her bright future!
“Still, before improving my strength further, I have to deal with some troubles first,” Liora whispered.
Before her voice had even fallen, her figure had vanished from the universe’s core.
