Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 742: Strange Rules

Chapter 742: Strange Rules

Faced with the attack of the extending hand, anyone, including Ancient Devils, would find themselves helpless.

Liora sensed that her demonic energy had become impossible to control, as had the various concepts she had comprehended.

Destruction. Devouring. Evil.

All these concepts had become useless. She was incapable of calling upon their power to strengthen herself.

Even her connection with her Throne had been severed, as though the River of Time had disappeared. Her control over the power of time had vanished, while her imprints on the timeline could no longer be used.

Liora knew why.

The Dimensional Gate did not lead to another world, but to another dimension.

And other dimensions operated according to completely different rules from the Origin Sea.

This was the difference between worlds and dimensions.

The things that powerhouses relied on in the outside world could not be used here.

“It’s no wonder that my clone died almost immediately.”

“In such an environment, it could barely exert five percent of its total strength. After all, it was only born from a single arm. Its own strength was not anything outstanding.”

“Most of its combat power came from the concepts and my abilities,” Liora whispered.

However, since she had dared to come here even after knowing this, she had already been prepared.

Staring at the murky hand clenching its fingers and surrounding her from every direction, she calmly raised her own hand and punched forward.

Immediately, the space struck by the edge of her fist trembled.

Then, an invisible force spread out, rushing toward the murky liquid.

A deafening bang echoed a split second later.

The confrontation did not last for long.

The black hand exploded!

It turned back into countless drops of black liquid that fell like dense rain, returning to the black sea beneath her.

Liora took no further action.

Although physical strength and certain abilities could still be used inside this dimension, explaining how the Chaos Beast had managed to survive, she was still unable to exert most of her strength.

The black sea was obviously the core of this dimension and its most threatening “being.”

Unless she directly used the power of the Cosmic Universe to suppress it, Liora was unlikely to gain any advantage in a direct confrontation.

She would have immediately chosen to do so if doing that would grant her any benefit.

But for the time being, she couldn’t see anything beneficial within this black sea.

Fearful that unleashing more of her strength might awaken something else inside this dimension, Liora shook her head.

After taking one last look at the place where the black hand had emerged from, she turned around and flew forward.

Perhaps because the invisible opponent had sensed her strength, whatever had attacked her let her go.

Following the traces of the Chaos Beast, Liora moved cautiously deeper into the dimension.

Fortunately, the spaces the Dimensional Gates led to were not too vast.

Although both they and the Origin Sea were considered dimensions, their levels were completely different, similar to the difference between lower-level and higher-level worlds.

As such, Liora soon arrived at her destination.

It was a gray island, the only landscape she had found so far inside this dimension besides the sea.

And unlike the endless black sea surrounding it, the island actually showed traces of life.

“Roar!”

“Roar!”

Powerful roars rang out.

If one took a closer look, they would discover that these cries came from creatures of the same race.

With bodies resembling lions but much larger in size and surrounded by bizarre gray flames, they looked almost identical to the Chaos Beast Liora had previously killed.

This made her raise her eyebrows.

Chaos Beasts were not divided into races.

After all, Chaos Beasts were not born like most beings and had no parents or relatives. Instead, they were born under the control of the Origin Sea.

As such, every Chaos Beast was supposed to be different.

Even if some shared similar characteristics due to their sheer number, it was impossible for them to be exactly the same.

Yet the scene before her directly contradicted the information contained in the “Human Emperor’s” memories.

Liora could see that all these Chaos Beasts belonged to the same race, possessing the same physique and even abilities!

Her mind wandered as she tried to think of a plausible explanation.

Soon, she came to the only possible conclusion.

“Is there something in this dimension, or more specifically on this island, that is affecting the Chaos Beasts and slowly altering their race?” Liora guessed.

She had to admit that her interest was piqued by this guess.

Although the Chaos Beasts on the island were not too powerful, there were several of them with strength equivalent to Other Shore Ancient Devils.

Combined with the Chaos Beast she had already killed outside, it meant that whatever existed on the island was able to influence even Primordial Ancient Devils.

That was more than enough to make Liora interested.

Under normal circumstances, she would have chosen to infiltrate the “tribe” and find the culprit behind these changes.

But this time, Liora didn’t.

Not because she had become overconfident and grown reckless, but because she simply couldn’t.

Most of her abilities had been rendered useless.

… And the only ones that could still be used were directly related to combat.

Thinking of this, Liora no longer hesitated.

“The cleanest infiltration is one that leaves no clues. As long as everyone who sees me is dead, it can also be considered a successful infiltration.”

The moment that strange thought took root in her mind, Liora directly unleashed her strongest power.

The Primordial Sin Art was activated.

The Wrath Avatar overlapped with her form, increasing her strength by nearly five times.

Sensing the formidable power coursing through her body, Liora focused her gaze on the strongest individuals among the Chaos Beasts.

Then, she sprang into action.

“One Across Eternity!” A soft whisper echoed throughout the island, and several beams descended from the sky.

Agonizing screams, accompanied by explosion sounds, followed.

Before long, however, all noise died down.
