Chapter 757: Imbuing the Concept of Sin
Chapter 757: Imbuing the Concept of Sin
The process of creating a Demon Layer was both difficult and easy at the same time.
It was said to be difficult because gathering the necessary materials was extremely troublesome and time-consuming.
Although these materials were not absolutely necessary and one could first create a smaller Demon Layer and slowly expand it afterwards, it was always best to do everything in one go.
Thankfully, once a Devil had gathered the materials, the rest of the process was easy.
Let alone Ancient Devils, with the assistance of the Demon World, even Archdevils could establish their own Demon Layers.
As such, upon sensing the Will of the Demon World descend upon her and assist her in the creation, Liora knew that it was already a done deal.
From now on, what concerned her was not whether she would be able to create the Demon Layer, but how powerful the final Demon Layer would be.
Looking at the crimson flames refining the fragments of the two Ancient Devils’ layers, Liora thought for a brief moment before making a move.
Her mind stirred, retrieving several items from the depths of the Cosmic Sea.
A giant mountain soon appeared before her.
These were the gains she had made throughout her journey.
Whether they were precious metals, extraordinary materials, or even the corpses of formidable powerhouses, she threw them into the crimson flames without any hesitation.
“Unfortunately, keeping the corpse of an Ancient Devil is almost impossible. At least with my current strength. Otherwise, using the two Ancient Devil Fallen Angels would have been even better.”
“Thankfully, I’ve kept the corpses of the Chaos Beasts and the powerful Awakeners who have died during this time inside the Cosmic Sea.”
Even though she was thinking, Liora’s movements did not pause. She enveloped the items with demonic energy and tossed them into the “furnace.”
With each material thrown into it, the flames grew increasingly fiercer.
Under Liora’s control, the flames and the Will of the Demon World worked together to refine the materials and forge her Demon Layer.
Soon, she faced a dilemma.
She had to decide what her Demon Layer’s shape would be.
Whether she established a floating continent, a spherical planet, or even an entire universe was up to her.
In fact, given her control over the Cosmic Universe and her familiarity with its structure, creating a universe would actually be the easiest.
Yet Liora made a surprising decision.
Perhaps because she had grown up in the 173rd Demon Layer, which was also in the form of a floating continent, she manipulated the flames to transform the materials into continents.
Yes.
Not one, but seven continents began to form under her control.
The process was time-consuming but proceeded smoothly.
Only a few days later, seven shrunken continents had formed in front of Liora, all separated by a crimson line.
“The first step is done!” Liora whispered as she looked at the seven continents, then immediately continued.
Her demonic energy boiled.
The seven Sin Avatars emerged behind her, not fused but as individual entities.
Sensing their strength and the power of sin they naturally emanated, Liora’s eyes flashed.
She pointed at the seven continents, one at a time.
A soft whisper escaped her lips with every movement.
“Pride.”
“Gluttony.”
“Wrath.”
“Sloth.”
“…”
With every sin listed, the corresponding Sin Avatar would tremble, a part of its concept extracted and fused with a different continent.
The materials they were created from were already extraordinary. Now, with the imbuing of the seven Sins, the continents grew even more terrifying.
When the last Sin concept was imbued into the final continent, they all resonated.
Bang!
A deafening explosion echoed in Liora’s mind.
The Will of the Demon World cheered.
Demonic energy began to be produced within the seven continents out of nowhere, showing that the Demon World had already recognized them as a part of it.
The already powerful continents grew even stronger.
Yet the one who received the greatest benefit was none other than Liora.
With the Demon Layer’s recognition, she seemed to have been granted a certain authority—the status of the Ruler.
Though surprised, Liora was not entirely unfamiliar with her current state.
In a sense, this was similar to her granting the authority of the King of the Underworld to Hermes inside the Veythalis World.
However, what Liora gained was not an authority within the pseudo-higher-level world inside the Cosmic Sea, but the authority of the Demon World, an apex world standing at the peak of the Origin Sea.
“It’s no wonder that most Devils are vying to establish their own Demon Layers and become Rulers…” Liora whispered, sensing the changes brought by that authority.
“I can feel that my potential has significantly increased. My practice speed has gotten faster.”
“As long as I stay within the Demon World’s boundaries, my comprehension of concepts will be easier.”
In particular, perhaps because her Demon Layer was built on these concepts, Liora felt that the Law of Sin had become extremely clear in her mind.
As long as she studied it for a few years, she would have the chance to bring it to the next level.
Granted, that was a matter for later.
With the Demon Layer established and having been recognized by the Demon World, Liora had to proceed to the final step.
She had to make her Demon Layer truly a part of the Demon World.
The way to do so was easy.
Glancing at the seven continents, she let the spatial power binding them disperse.
Without her suppression, the continents began to grow. Or rather, to return to their original size.
From merely being the size of tiny stones, they gradually became as large as planets and then grew even bigger.
Before long, Liora’s Demon Layer was no smaller than that of the Holy Land Demon Lord.
More importantly, the aura it exuded far surpassed it, evidence that its essence was higher.
Seeing this, Liora communicated with the authority of a Ruler.
Bang!
A moment later, a second explosion echoed.
This time, however, it not only echoed in Liora’s mind but instead spread throughout the Demon World.
Liora’s Demon Layer, originally hidden at the edge of the Demon World, moved toward the giant “cake” composed of countless worlds.
Then, it slowly descended, as though trying to find an area to place itself.
