This was another strange thing Michael had noticed about the Level 3 region.
The wolves here were somehow unwilling to retreat, even when facing certain death. Michael could only attribute it to the special nature of whatever lay within the barrier.
Gray energy gathered around the wolf's remaining claws. The surrounding air split apart beneath the pressure.
Beginning stood opposite it. Its condition didn't look much better, at least visually. Large chunks of flesh were missing from its torso. Green acidic blood continuously dripped onto the earth.
Sssssss!
The ground dissolved wherever the blood landed. Yet Beginning's aura, though it hadn't reached a first-stage burst, was considerably stronger than when the battle had started.
The wolf seemed to sense this as well. Its remaining crimson eye carried a faint trace of unease.
Unfortunately, it was already too late.
BOOOOOOM!
The wolf's body disappeared. Beginning's head turned. Its fist rose. The wolf appeared directly before it. Claws descended. Beginning shifted.
Whoosh!
The attack barely missed its neck. At the same moment, Beginning's fist struck the wolf's lower jaw.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The wolf's enormous head snapped upward. Several teeth shattered. Before its body could be thrown away, Beginning's other hand closed around its throat.
CRACK!
The wolf struggled violently. Its claws tore across Beginning's chest. Beginning ignored the attack. Its grip tightened. The wolf's claws struck again.
PUCHI!
Flesh exploded. Beginning's green eyes remained fixed on it. Then its knee rose.
BOOOOOOM!
The wolf's abdomen collapsed inward. Its entire body folded. Beginning released its throat before both hands grabbed the creature's head.
Michael's expression changed.
"Beginning, wait. The corpse…"
CRAAAAACK!
The wolf's neck twisted. Its massive body immediately went limp.
"…"
Beginning released it. BOOM! The corpse struck the earth.
Michael stared silently. Beginning looked toward Michael's hiding space. Their gazes somehow met despite Michael still being concealed.
"…At least the body is complete."
Michael sighed. He couldn't really complain. The head was still attached. More importantly, Beginning had actually listened to his earlier instructions throughout the battle.
It hadn't recklessly pushed Brutal Rebirth to its extreme or deliberately placed itself one step from death. It had simply fought. And won. Against a Level 100 creature while only being Level 96.
"Beginning really is getting ridiculous."
It hadn't even triggered the truly terrifying stages of its Law.
If Beginning had fought with the same recklessness it displayed against the Black Serpent Emperor, Michael suspected the battle would have ended much earlier.
"Good."
Beginning immediately turned toward another battlefield, this one involving the two Black Serpent ancestors. The Level 100 wolf fighting them had clearly been having a miserable time.
FWOOSH!
Blue flames covered the sky.
The first Black Serpent ancestor twisted through the inferno. Its enormous tail descended.
The wolf dodged.
Before the wolf could properly regain its footing mid-air, hundreds of pink flowers appeared around its body.
Hundreds.
The wolf's crimson eyes contracted as pink flames swallowed it.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
AWOOOO!
The wolf erupted from the explosion. Large sections of its scales had been burned black. Its jaws opened.
A gray beam shot toward the second Black Serpent ancestor.
The serpent's enormous body twisted, but the attack tore through a section of its tail. Yet before the wolf could capitalize on the injury, the first ancestor appeared. Its jaws closed around the wolf's neck.
CRUNCH!
The wolf roared. Its claws immediately tore into the serpent's body. The first ancestor refused to release it.
The second Black Serpent ancestor moved. Pink flowers bloomed around its head as it appeared to be charging a very powerful attack.
Michael's eyes narrowed in his hiding space and he hurriedly spoke.
"Don't destroy the body."
The second ancestor paused upon hearing this. The flowers disappeared.
It was at this moment that Beginning arrived.
BOOOOOOM!
Its fist struck the wolf directly in the side. The enormous creature was ripped from the Black Serpent ancestor's jaws and sent tumbling across the battlefield.
Beginning followed, and the two serpent ancestors followed his lead.
The wolf had barely risen when three enormous shadows covered it.

For some reason, Michael almost felt sorry for it.
The wolf howled furiously, only to receive a punch on its head from directly above.
BOOOOOOM!
Its head struck the earth. A blue-flamed tail wrapped around its hind legs.
The first Black Serpent ancestor pulled and the wolf's body was stretched across the ground.
The second ancestor descended and pinned one of its forelimbs beneath its body.
Beginning raised its fist.
Michael immediately spoke.
"Please leave a complete body!"
Beginning's fist changed direction.
BOOOOOOM!
The wolf's neck collapsed. Its body twitched. Beginning punched again.
BOOM!
The movement stopped.
Michael stared at the relatively complete corpse.
"…Excellent."
Two Level 100 corpses now in hand.
The three undead didn't linger and immediately charged toward the Bone Wyvern, which was the closest ongoing battle.
The Level 100 wolf fighting it had gained a considerable advantage.
The Bone Wyvern's earlier injuries had become increasingly problematic. Its left wing was now almost completely broken, and several sections of its skeletal body had been shattered.
The wolf had also suffered injuries, but nothing comparable.

The wolf lunged. Its claws descended toward the Bone Wyvern's damaged wing. The Bone Wyvern twisted, but it was too slow.

The wing nearly shattered. The Bone Wyvern lost balance. Its enormous skeletal body began to fall. The wolf immediately followed. Its jaws opened as energy gathered.
BOOOOOOM!
Beginning crashed into the wolf from the side. The gathered energy exploded harmlessly into the distance.
The wolf was thrown away. It twisted in midair when blue flames erupted beneath it. The first Black Serpent ancestor emerged. Its head struck the wolf's stomach.
BOOOOOOM!
The wolf flew upward, but it had barely gone far when pink flowers appeared above it.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The flowers exploded around the wolf's limbs, and the detonations tore apart scales and flesh.
The wolf howled in agony, its etes turning red in pain when a massive hand grabbed its throat in midair and rapidly carried it down.
BOOOOOOM!
