Chapter 1210: Demigod Panel
Chapter 1210: Demigod Panel
Her body looked almost untouched by time. The skin retained its colour, and the muscles had not decayed.
Even the faint pressure naturally produced by her flesh remained powerful enough that an ordinary Rank Three probably wouldn't have been comfortable standing nearby.
There was too much vitality for something dead. But Michael had already confirmed the truth repeatedly. She was dead. Completely.
Of course, he had made sure this was specifically the case the moment she entered the Mausoleum.
After bringing her into the Mausoleum, Michael had been extremely thorough. Every trace of consciousness he could find had been examined.
Anything that looked even remotely suspicious had been suppressed, removed, or destroyed.
Michael did not want to spend all this effort gathering resurrection materials just for the original owner to suddenly wake up halfway through and ask why he was touching her.
Now there was no consciousness remaining. The body was genuinely an empty husk. An unbelievably powerful empty husk, but an empty husk nonetheless.
Michael crouched beside her. His expression became serious. The next step required something from him personally.
Michael raised one hand. A goldish-red bead gradually emerged above his palm. It was his Blood Essence.
Michael's face became slightly paler as the bead formed. He didn't use much, as even a small amount of Blood Essence carried considerably more significance than litres of ordinary blood.
Michael brought his finger toward it. The bead stretched into a thin stream as he lowered his hand toward the Demigod's forehead.
Carefully, Michael began drawing a pattern.
The pattern wasn't particularly large. It occupied only the center of her forehead, but every stroke was deliberate. The symbol resembled several overlapping rings surrounding a central vertical mark.
The final stroke connected.
Buzz.
The blood pattern glowed. For the briefest instant, the Demigod's entire body trembled.
When he saw there was no issue, Michael stood up and distanced himself.
Jester had already moved beyond the innermost circle. Isabella remained much farther away. Even the ghost was watching from beside it with visible curiosity.
Michael raised both hands, and the entire ritual circle came alive. Michael's robes lifted despite the complete absence of wind.
Michael's eyes locked onto the corpse. The pattern drawn in his Blood Essence brightened, and the innermost formation activated.
BOOOOOOM!
A pillar of black and pale-blue light erupted around the dead Demigod.
The pillar did not disappear quickly. For the first few minutes, it only grew denser. Black energy surged upward from the outer formation while pale-blue soul light circulated through the middle ring. The two streams twisted around one another before continuously pouring into the body at the center.
The pressure throughout the region increased.
Michael remained outside the ritual and watched every change carefully.
Minutes became tens of minutes. Then an hour passed. The ritual continued without interruption.
Dark crystals buried beneath the formation gradually lost their shine. The Grave Flowers withered one after another as the soul energy contained within them was extracted.
The powdered Nether Soul Tree branches lining the inner formation burned with pale-blue fire, but instead of turning to ash, they slowly dissolved into energy and entered the Demigod's body.
Two hours passed.
Michael did not move. Jester remained nearby as well, occasionally adjusting the flow of energy whenever one section of the formation became unstable.
The ghost, on the other hand, had lost interest long ago. After watching the ritual for a while, she returned to the Nether Soul Tree and resumed floating lazily around its branches.
Only Isabella remained visibly tense. The more she watched Michael make his moves, instead of becoming more reassured, she only grew more unsettled.
She really wanted to know how this figure knew her father or what relationship they could possibly share.
Several hours passed like this before something changed.
The enormous pillar of black and pale-blue light suddenly contracted.
Michael's eyes sharpened.
The energy that had been continuously rising into the sky began collapsing inward.
The outer ring dimmed first. Then the middle ring. One rune after another disappeared from the ground as the remaining energy was dragged toward the center.
The massive formation that had remained active for hours began shutting down section by section.
Michael straightened, feeling a little anxious.
Even the ghost looked over again.
The final stream of pale-blue light entered the body. Then everything stopped.
Silence descended. The remaining light disappeared.
Michael stared toward the center of the ritual. The female Demigod remained lying exactly where he had placed her.
For several seconds, nothing happened.
Then one finger moved.
Michael's heartbeat immediately accelerated.
Another finger twitched.
A few seconds later, her eyes opened. They were blank, with no trace of the consciousness that had once inhabited the body. Only a new soul, created through Michael's necromancy using the body's previous foundation.
The woman slowly sat upright. The remaining dust from the destroyed ritual slid from her body. Then she stood.
BOOM!
The ground beneath her feet cracked.
Michael felt the pressure immediately.
Demigod. There was no doubt.
The resurrection had succeeded.
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
He had done it. His first Demigod undead. Not an undead temporarily pushed into Rank Five. Or an ally hired through Evolution Essence Crystals. An actual Rank Five undead belonging to him.
The woman stood motionlessly at the center of the ruined formation, awaiting instruction.
Before Michael could examine her more carefully, the ghost disappeared from beside the Nether Soul Tree. She appeared directly in front of the newly resurrected Demigod.
Her silver eyes widened with curiosity. She floated around the woman a few times, her spiritual perception sweeping through the new undead from head to toe.
The female Demigod did nothing.
"Weak."
Michael's expression twitched.
The ghost circled her one last time.
"Weaker than me."
Then, having seemingly learned everything she cared to learn, she disappeared again and returned to her tree.
Michael ignored her.
Of course she thought the new undead was weak. The ghost was Level 112 with a Three-Star Epic race and had likely spent an absurd amount of time accumulating her foundation.
Michael didn't know how strong she truly was, but he suspected even a Level 120 would struggle to do anything to her.
This undead had only just been resurrected.
Michael's attention remained locked on the woman with excitement.
"Status."
A translucent panel appeared.
