Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1211: Three Hours

Chapter 1211: Three Hours

Michael's gaze instantly dropped toward the bottom.

There it was again.

[Domain Law Technique: Sea of Blood Armour]

His eyes brightened. Exactly like the ghost. So it really was something associated with Rank Five.

Michael stared at the name.

"Sea of Blood Armour…"

Michael remembered what this Demigod had been capable of while alive. The enormous sea of blood. The way blood had seemed almost endless around her. The absurd regeneration. If Sea of Blood Armour was connected to all of that, the show of power made even more sense now.

Michael tried opening the information but got nothing. Just like Ice Wheel before he synchronized with the ghost, the system refused to reveal the deeper details. Or maybe it simply couldn't.

Michael wasn't disappointed, as he had expected not to get anything.

Instead, his gaze returned to the rest of the panel.

Level 103. Only three levels into Rank Five. That explained part of the difference between her and the ghost, but since she had a special physique, she should be much stronger than an ordinary Level 103 Demigod, given that she had been able to fight and hold her own for a while against his two enhanced undead.

Michael's gaze moved back toward the top of the panel.

[Race: Human]

His expression gradually became strange.

"Human…"

Michael studied the woman again. She might not be a High Human, but her physique clearly compensated for much of that weakness. Michael knew how absurd it was.

The amount of vitality contained within it was monstrous. Even after sustaining repeated injuries from his temporarily enhanced undead, she had continued fighting for a considerable amount of time.

The Blood Sovereign Physique alone probably allowed her physical foundation to compete with, or perhaps even exceed, some High Humans of the same level.

But that was exactly what made Michael's expression become stranger.

Comparable wasn't the same as actually being one.

But what would happen if she became a High Human?

Michael's heartbeat accelerated slightly. At higher levels, races stopped holding an overwhelming advantage like they used to, but their advantage didn't disappear and was still significant. It just wasn't as overwhelming as before.

Michael was just beginning to consider whether he should try evolving her directly when something appeared before his eyes.

A translucent panel unfolded without warning.

[Origin Battlefield Announcement]

[The Origin Battlefield will reopen in 3 Hours.]

[All qualified Awakeners are advised to prepare for entry.] [Several modifications have been made to the Origin Battlefield following the conclusion of the previous opening period.] [Details regarding these changes will be revealed upon entry.] [Countdown: 02:59:59]

Michael stared at the panel.

"…"

The countdown immediately began decreasing.

02:59:58.

02:59:57.

His thoughts about evolving the Demigod temporarily stopped.

The Origin Battlefield was reopening in three hours. More importantly, something had changed.

Michael's eyes remained on the third line.

[Several modifications have been made to the Origin Battlefield.] That was vague. The Origin Battlefield hadn't exactly been safe before. Only the heavens knew what difference this made now.

Michael's expression became thoughtful. Three hours wasn't much time for anything huge, but fortunately, he was already mostly prepared.

Michael's gaze remained on the countdown for several seconds.

02:58:41.

02:58:40.

Three hours really wasn't much time. But it was enough for something small.

His gaze slowly returned to the female Demigod. More specifically, to the first line of her status.

[Race: Human]

Michael's expression became thoughtful again. He had already been considering it before the Origin Battlefield announcement interrupted him, and after thinking about the matter for a little longer, he couldn't find any reason to hesitate, nor was he planning to.

He needed power. Inside the Origin Battlefield, Michael was practically untouchable, but if he wanted to give Aunt Mia and Lily their lives back, he would have to return to Aurora to check the situation.

Michael's gaze returned to the newly resurrected Demigod.

A Rank Five subordinate was already an enormous improvement. But if he could make that Rank Five subordinate stronger for almost no meaningful cost, why wouldn't he?

More importantly, evolving from Human to High Human was cheap. Ridiculously cheap compared to everything Michael had just spent Evolution Points on.

The Evolution Points required were almost insulting after watching millions disappear from his panel throughout the day. And unlike other evolutions, evolving to High Human didn't need days.

Michael glanced at the Origin Battlefield countdown again.

A little under three hours. That should be enough. And even if it wasn't, there was nothing forcing him to wait here.

Michael still needed to return to Aurora before the Origin Battlefield reopened. He also needed to speak with Lily. Perhaps by the time he finished that conversation, the female Demigod's evolution would already be complete.

Michael made his decision, his eyes briefly shifting toward the Nether Soul Tree.

The silver-eyed ghost remained lazily resting against one of its branches. Her eyes were half closed. At first glance, it looked as though she had completely stopped paying attention to everything around her.

Michael knew better now. Her perception was terrifying. Friendly or not, contracted or not, there were some things he simply wouldn't expose.

The ghost knowing about Evolution Essence Crystals was already considerably more than Michael would want outsiders to know.

His thoughts moved.

The female Demigod disappeared. Michael followed her location through his connection to the Mausoleum. He selected an isolated plain far from every other ongoing evolution.

Only then did Michael call upon Infinite Evolution remotely.

The familiar panel appeared before him.

[Human → High Human]

[Confirm Evolution?]

Michael didn't hesitate.

[Yes]

Michael then withdrew his attention and turned toward Jester.

"You're coming with me."

Jester bowed slightly.

"Of course, Master."

Michael's gaze then shifted toward Isabella.

The Skeleton Chief was still standing near the edge of the basin. She had stopped trembling as badly as before, but something about her remained noticeably tense.

Michael stared at her for a moment. There was still the matter of her father. He hadn't forgotten. But right now wasn't the best time.

"Isabella."

Her violet soul flames immediately focused on him.

"Yes, Senior?"

"When I'm free, we'll talk properly about your father."

Isabella remained silent for several seconds. Then she lowered her head.

"Understood, Senior."

Michael nodded. That was enough for now.

As for the ghost, Michael didn't disturb her.

With one thought, space folded around himself and Jester, and the two disappeared.

The region surrounding the Nether Soul Tree became quiet again.

Isabella remained standing where Michael had left her.

The ghost continued daydreaming.
