Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1213: Task [2]

Chapter 1213: Task [2]

Michael's eyebrow rose slightly.

Lily continued.

"I met Timi early, and we stayed together for most of it. I know it might not happen again."

Michael's expression relaxed slightly.

"As long as you understand."

Lily gave a small nod.

"I do."

Michael sank slightly deeper into the sofa. That handled the first thing.

"There's something else. Two things to be specific. The first is more important."

Michael looked at her for a moment before asking, "Did you enter a Level Three region last time?"

"Yes. But we didn't stay long. Timi said Level Two regions were already starting to become a bit dangerous for us, so going deeper without a need wasn't worth it."

Michael nodded slowly.

"That was the right decision. But this time, I actually want you to enter a Level Three region."

Lily's eyes widened.

Yoo! Wasn't he the one who told her not to go courting death?!

"There'll be risk involved, so don't force anything. If the situation becomes too dangerous, leave immediately. I don't care what you find there if getting it means putting yourself in a situation you can't handle."

Michael hadn't finished speaking when Lily suddenly leaned closer.

"I know, I know. Hurry and tell me what you want me to do."

Michael paused. Lily's excitement caught him slightly off guard.

What Michael didn't know was that this was the first time she could remember him speaking to her like this. Not telling her to stay safe. Not giving her something. Not preparing protection around her. He actually needed something from her.

For more than a year, Michael had changed Lily's life so completely that her first fifteen years sometimes felt strangely distant. Things she once worried about constantly barely existed anymore.

Money. Safety. Resources. Her future. Even her mother's life had changed.

Unlike Aunt Mia, Lily wasn't burdened by the same complicated guilt toward Michael, but she still understood that almost everything good in her current life had become possible because of him. And sometimes, quietly, she wondered what she had ever done for him in return.

Very little. Michael was always protecting her. Always giving. Lily rarely had anything he actually needed.

So hearing that Michael wanted her to do something for him produced an excitement she didn't completely understand herself.

Michael, naturally, knew none of this but simply decided not to ruin her enthusiasm.

"Fine."

Lily immediately focused.

Michael continued.

"I suspect every Level Three region has something important hidden inside it."

Michael's expression became thoughtful.

"I can't guarantee every Level Three region follows exactly the same structure, but based on what I saw last time, I think there's a high chance each one contains a major treasure or something equivalent."

Lily nodded slowly.

Michael continued.

"That's what I want you to look for. Enter a Level Three region. Explore it properly. Find whatever the most valuable thing inside is."

Michael paused before emphasizing the next part.

"If it's too dangerous, forget it."

Lily nodded.

"I mean that."

"I know."

"If getting it requires you to gamble your life, leave."

"Okay."

"But if the danger is something you can actually handle…"

Michael's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Then make sure you take it."

Lily's lips slowly curved upward.

"Got it."

Lily's thoughts had already moved elsewhere. Hearing Michael's words made her remember the announcement from the previous Origin Battlefield opening.

Michael's name had been broadcast to every Awakener. She still didn't know the full significance of what he had done, but she remembered how unusual the announcement had been.

Perhaps this treasure was connected to that. Perhaps whatever Michael had found inside his own Level Three region was what caused the announcement.

Lily's eyes gradually brightened.

If that was true, would her name be announced too?

The thought sent another wave of excitement through her.

Michael noticed the change in her expression and, after a brief hesitation, decided to ignore it and move on to the next thing.

"Anyway, that's the first thing."

Lily nodded eagerly for him to continue.

Michael rested one arm against the back of the sofa.

"The second matter is actually related to Timi."

Lily's eyes immediately brightened.

"Timi?"

"Yes."

For some reason, Lily suddenly felt like several good things were happening today. First, Michael had actually given her something important to do in the Origin Battlefield. Now he was bringing up Timi on his own.

Lily leaned slightly closer.

"Do you want to help him?"

Michael looked at her.

"And his world," Lily quickly added. "They're really pitiful there."

Michael already knew some of what she was referring to from what Lily had told him previously. Humanity in Timi's world was surviving, but surviving was probably the most generous description one could use. People were still dying. A lot of them. Entire regions remained dangerous, resources were limited, and whatever disaster had transformed Timi's Earth was still far from resolved.

Lily continued.

"If you could help them somehow, maybe…"

Michael immediately interrupted her.

"Lily."

She stopped.

Michael gave her a strange look.

"What exactly do you think I am?"

Lily tilted her head in confusion.

Michael pointed toward himself.

"Do I look like some omnipotent supreme being?"

"No…"

"Because you're talking like I can casually save an entire world whenever I feel like it."

Lily's excitement weakened.

Michael leaned back against the sofa.

"I'm strong compared to many people around us, but I'm still human."

There were limits to what he could do.

Lily's shoulders lowered slightly.

"Oh."

Michael noticed her disappointment. He allowed it to remain for only a moment before continuing.

"That doesn't mean I can't do something else."

Lily's head immediately rose.

"What?"

Michael almost laughed at how quickly her expression changed. He raised two fingers.

"That's the second task."

Lily became attentive again.

"If you meet Timi this time, ask him something for me."

"What?"

Michael paused briefly before answering.

"Ask him to name ten popular countries from his Earth."

"…"

Michael waited.

Lily's expression gradually became confused.

"Countries?"

Michael nodded.

"The ones almost everyone there would know."
