Chapter 1214: Let’s Grab The Ghost First
Lily continued staring at him. Of all the things she had expected Michael to ask, that had been nowhere on the list.
"What for?"
"I need to confirm something."
Lily's curiosity only increased.
"Confirm what?"
Michael shook his head.
"I'll tell you after I know whether I'm right."
Lily narrowed her eyes at him, but Michael remained unmoved. Eventually, she gave up.
"Fine."
Michael nodded.
"Just remember them properly. Ten recognizable countries. Preferably spread across different parts of his world."
Lily committed the request to memory. She still had absolutely no idea what Michael intended to do with the information.
However, she had already pieced together one important thing. Whatever Michael was thinking about, the answer Timi gave might determine whether Michael could help his world. That alone was enough for her.
"I'll ask him."
"Good."
Lily nodded seriously.
"If I meet him, I'll make sure I get the names."
Michael relaxed slightly. That was all he needed for now.
Whether his suspicion was correct or not would depend entirely on Timi's answer.
Michael studied Lily for another moment before changing the subject.
"What level are your two classes now?"
Lily answered immediately.
"Level Ten."
That meant both classes had reached their current limit. Level Ten. She could already attempt her next Rank Advancement whenever she wanted, provided she fulfilled the necessary requirements.
Michael nodded slowly.
"Good. Do you remember what I told you about your Attribute Points?"
Lily rolled her eyes slightly.
"Yes."
"Tell me."
Lily sighed but still answered.
"If I can help it, I should keep them instead of immediately spending them. And if there's an emergency and I need the extra strength, I can use them."
"And if there isn't?"
"I should wait until just before I advance to the next Rank, then use them."
Michael looked satisfied.
"Why?"
Lily stared at him.
"You already know I know."
"I want to hear you say it."
Lily's lips twitched.
"Because improving your attributes naturally becomes harder the higher they get."
"Exactly."
Attribute Points were convenient. If you immediately dumped every Attribute Point you had into your stats, it would make your natural growth harder down the line.
Michael might not need this, thanks to his many advantages, but it was different for Lily. If possible, he wanted her foundation to be as strong as possible before each Rank.
Michael ignored the expression of annoyance on Lily's face.
"What was the other important thing I told you about Rank Advancement?"
"Don't rush."
Lily continued.
"If I can help it, I shouldn't complete my Rank Advancement Quest the moment I satisfy the minimum requirements. And I should try to surpass them as much as I reasonably can."
"Why?"
"So I'll be stronger than people at the same Rank."
Michael gestured for her to continue.
Lily sighed.
"If someone rushes through every advancement just because they can, they might level faster than me for a while."
"But?"
"But it doesn't matter."
Her expression gradually became more confident.
"If my foundation is better every time I advance, I'll catch up eventually."
Michael's lips curved slightly.
Lily continued.
"And when I do, I'll leave them in the dust."
Michael nodded with satisfaction.
Rank Advancement Quests weren't merely obstacles separating one Rank from another. They were opportunities. The minimum requirement represented what someone needed to advance. It didn't necessarily represent what they were capable of achieving before advancing.
Michael reached over and rubbed the top of Lily's head.
"Good. You're teachable."
Lily immediately tried moving away, but Michael's hand followed.
Lily's expression collapsed.
"Michael, I'm sixteen!"
Michael continued rubbing her head.
"Stop treating me like I'm six!"
"You're very teachable."
"Cousin!"
Lily slapped his hand away and hurriedly fixed her hair.
Michael leaned back with a faint smile.
Lily glared at him.
Michael's smile widened slightly.
"So dramatic."
"I'm not dramatic!"
Michael nodded solemnly.
"Teenage rebellion."
Lily stared at him in disbelief. Then she grabbed one of the cushions beside her and threw it directly at his face.
Unfortunately for Lily, the cushion hit something. It just wasn't Michael. The cushion passed through the space where his head had been a fraction of a second earlier and struck the back of the sofa.
Michael was already gone.
Several hundred kilometres away within the Mausoleum, space distorted. Michael appeared above an isolated plain.
The moment he arrived, his attention immediately settled on the figure standing below.
The female Demigod.
Just as Michael had expected, her evolution had already finished by the time he was done with Lily. The transformation from Human to High Human had never been particularly time-consuming compared to the absurd evolutions currently taking place elsewhere in the Mausoleum.
Michael descended slowly.
The woman stood silently where he had left her. At first glance, there wasn't an enormous change in her appearance. Her body remained almost identical.
However, Michael immediately felt the difference.
Her aura had become considerably stronger. Before the evolution, her presence had already been enough to make most Rank Four beings uncomfortable simply by existing nearby. Now the pressure had deepened. It was denser.
The Blood Sovereign Physique had already given her an abnormal physical foundation for a Human. Adding the natural advantages of a High Human on top of that foundation had produced exactly the result Michael hoped for.
This was a considerable improvement. Michael suspected she could probably fight the enhanced Undead High Drake directly and force the battle into a genuine stalemate.
Michael slowly circled her.
He briefly considered comparing her to the Demigod ghost, but this was considerably harder. The ghost was a Level 112, Three-Star Epic creature. Her race was already exceptional, and the amount of time she had spent accumulating her foundation inside the Netherworld was unknown.
The female Demigod had only just become Michael's undead. Even with the Blood Sovereign Physique and High Human race, Michael wasn't confident she had reached the ghost's level.
Perhaps she had. Perhaps she hadn't. There were too many differences between them to judge purely from aura.
Still, even if she didn't match the ghost now, she would when she evolved to True Human.
The temptation was strong. A True Human Demigod with the Blood Sovereign Physique. Michael didn't even need to imagine too deeply to know the result would be ridiculous.
Unfortunately, now wasn't the time. True Human evolution might still be relatively short compared to the massive transformations happening with Lucky and Spartan, but three days was still a considerable amount of time, since he wanted to enter Aurora before entering the Origin Battlefield to understand his situation better.
Michael stopped in front of her and observed her appearance for a while when a name surfaced in his mind.
"Valeria."
The undead's crimson eyes focused on him.
Michael repeated it.
"Your name is Valeria."
The Blood Sovereign Demigod lowered her head.
"Understood, Master."
Michael nodded.
Valeria. It suited her blooded appearance and abilities well enough.
"Let's go grab that ghost first."
