Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1220: Help Me

Chapter 1220: Help Me

Rumble!

Then the building itself began to rise.

Walls trembled as dust fell from countless cracks. The entire structure gradually separated from the ground, but Michael was careful about what he took.

Whether it was pipes, electricity, or other utilities connecting the building to the surrounding infrastructure, they were carefully severed rather than ripped apart.

Only the building and its foundation rose.

Michael looked around one final time.

"Good enough."

A second later, the entire building disappeared and entered the Mausoleum at once.

Where the apartment building had stood, only the exposed ground and disconnected utility points remained.

Michael disappeared immediately afterward.

What Michael hadn't particularly considered was how absurd everything had looked to everyone else.

Since he had deliberately concealed his presence the moment he entered the area, nobody saw Michael.

One woman walking along the street stopped when she saw an entire building floating in the air without support.

Her mouth opened.

"What…"

Several other people noticed as well.

"The building is flying!" someone screamed.

Then, before their increasingly terrified eyes, the entire building vanished.

Completely.

Silence lasted perhaps two seconds before the street erupted.

"DEMONS!"

"Run!"

"Call the authorities!"

People rushed away from the empty plot while others stared from windows farther down the street.

One couldn't exactly blame them for reaching that conclusion. Brightgate City had suffered far too much this year. The recent battle alone had left sections of the city looking like they had survived a natural disaster. At this point, whenever something spectacular and completely inexplicable happened, demons had become a perfectly reasonable first guess.

Fortunately for them, the culprit this time wasn't a demon.

As for Michael, he was already several streets away. He found the panic somewhat amusing, but he didn't have enough time to concern himself with this, as there was still something he wanted to do.

Michael's perception spread outward. Among the ordinary civilians fleeing the area were several people whose reactions were noticeably different.

Michael's eyes narrowed on them.

The Federation people, huh.

He wasn't surprised.

Michael's perception followed them and soon his attention settled on the strongest one. A middle-aged woman.

"Found you. You're perfect for now."

Her strength was comparable to a Rank Two Awakener and she could fly. With her ability to fly, she shot between buildings, already putting considerable distance between herself and the apartment.

Michael disappeared.

The woman had barely crossed another street when every instinct in her body screamed. Her head snapped around, but she found nothing, until she looked forward again and her pupils contracted.

Someone was floating directly in her path. Worse, she recognized who it was instantly.

"Michael Nor…"

Upon making eye contact with him, her body froze mid-air.

Michael drew closer.

The woman's terror became increasingly visible.

Michael reached forward and grabbed the cusp of her collar.

"I need to borrow you."

"What?!"

Space distorted, and the two disappeared.

* * *

The woman stumbled the instant solid ground returned beneath her feet.

Her eyes immediately swept across her surroundings.

"Is this a basement?"

Damaged stone covered the floor, while the remains of a complicated formation were still visible beneath them.

While she didn't recognize the place, Michael did, as he had returned to the assassins' basement.

Michael released the woman's collar. She immediately jumped backward. Energy surged through her body as her translucent wings expanded behind her.

"Don't."

Michael's voice stopped her.

The woman froze again as her senses came back. As someone in charge of monitoring Michael and his family, she of course had knowledge of him. While many argued the scariest thing about him was his undead, she knew their master was just as much of a monster as they were.

Her face visibly paled.

"Sir Norman."

"So you do know me."

The woman said nothing.

Michael wasn't particularly surprised.

The woman cautiously looked toward the only exit before returning her attention to Michael.

"What do you want?"

"Nothing complicated."

Michael smiled slightly.

"I've been away for a few days. And apparently, a lot happened while I was gone."

The woman swallowed.

Michael continued.

"So you're going to help me catch up."

Over the next few minutes, Michael controlled the woman and had her hand over her phone before logging into her account on the Supernatural Association forum.

As expected, he was immediately met with an enormous amount of information concerning everything that had happened during his absence. Fortunately, there was nothing particularly surprising.

Numerous foreign races had indeed entered Aurora over the past few days. Some were human civilizations from other realms, while others belonged to completely different races. Despite the sheer number of powerful outsiders arriving, however, there had been no major conflicts between them and Aurora's inhabitants so far.

Most people on the forum believed this was because the main target responsible for attracting them had yet to be found.

However, the situation surrounding him had changed considerably because of the information he had provided before disappearing. The possibility that Michael's mysterious treasure wasn't unique had spread among the outsiders. This revelation had significantly reduced the attention concentrated on him.

Several foreign groups had already left Aurora after confirming the information, apparently returning to their own worlds to prepare, while others remained within Aurora, either unwilling to abandon their original objective or waiting for further information.

This also explained the relative peace mentioned in the forum.

Michael continued going through the forum, searching for anything particularly relevant to himself, the Federation, or the events surrounding his disappearance.

Once Michael had gathered everything he considered important, he erased the woman's memories of their encounter before disappearing from the basement.

Several seconds passed before the woman's senses fully returned.

Confusion immediately appeared across her face as she examined her surroundings. She had no memory of entering the unfamiliar basement or any explanation for why she was standing there.

Her attention moved across the damaged floor and the remains of the destroyed formation.

She quickly checked herself for injuries before examining her belongings. Everything appeared normal.

However this only deepened her confusion.
