Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1312: Death Heir And Death Knight [1]

Chapter 1312: Death Heir And Death Knight [1]

The moment Timi stepped into the Fourth Layer of the Origin Battlefield, the first thing he noticed outside the enormous walls surrounding him was the mana density in the air.

Timi instinctively took a deeper breath.

If the mana density on Earth could be compared to moisture lingering in the air after a light drizzle, then the Zeroth Layer was like standing beside a wide river.

The Fourth Layer was closer to being dropped into the middle of an ocean.

Mana seemed to exist everywhere.

Almost subconsciously, Timi opened his Origin Battlefield panel.

Though Lily had told him they were going to another Layer, she hadn’t actually mentioned which one.

A familiar panel appeared before Timi’s eyes.

However, he quickly noticed something strange.

Everything related to the Zeroth Layer was gone.

The information he had previously been able to access couldn’t be found anywhere. Even the territory ranking he’d occasionally checked had completely changed.

It almost felt as though he’d switched servers in a game.

He could tell, aside from the mana density, that this layer had something the Zeroth Layer didn’t.

A combat ranking.

Timi didn’t immediately open it.

His attention first went toward the territory ranking.

The list appeared.

Timi’s eyes moved toward the very top.

Michael Norman.

The name was familiar.

Timi had never met the man, nor did he know what Michael Norman looked like.

But he’d heard that name before.

Twice, in fact.

Both times had come directly from what he still instinctively thought of as the System, although Lily insisted on calling it the Origin Will.

Universal announcements.

Even with how isolated and ignorant Timi was, he wasn’t stupid.

Getting your name announced to countless beings across the universe should be a very big deal.

Whoever Michael Norman was, he was clearly an expert.

Probably an absurdly powerful one.

Timi’s thoughts naturally drifted toward Lily’s mysterious cousin again.

Since he could see the name of this Michael Norman in this layer, it meant Lily’s cousin was also here. Perhaps Lily wasn’t lying, and her cousin was indeed powerful.

Still, surely Michael Norman was on another level entirely.

Someone whose name had already echoed across the universe twice and who currently occupied first place on the Fourth Layer’s territory ranking should naturally be more powerful than whoever Lily’s cousin was.

Unfortunately, the territory ranking gave him almost nothing else to work with.

It was similar to the Zeroth Layer’s ranking in that regard.

There was the territory name, its owner, and the realm the owner originated from, then nothing else.

The only thing worth noting was finding out that this Michael Norman also seemed to be from Lily’s home realm.

It was mildly surprising, but not particularly meaningful by itself. Timi had no idea how large Aurora was or how powerful it was.

Still, the coincidence caused him to compare Michael Norman with Lily’s cousin one more time before he moved on.

Since the territory ranking couldn’t satisfy his curiosity, he opened the other list instead.

[Fourth Layer Combat Power Ranking]

This one was immediately more interesting, as not only did it reveal the realm he was in, but it also revealed that there were level 100 Awakeners in this place!

He naturally found this out from looking at the person at the top of the list.

Though very ignorant about the world of supernaturals, thanks to Lily, Timi knew that after level 10, each rank had a range of 25 levels. A level 100 individual meant they were at the peak of Rank 4.

Timi had no concept of how powerful that could be, but he knew it should be immensely powerful.

Thinking of it this way, Lily’s cousin was indeed impressive to be in the Fourth Layer.

"I wonder if he’s also a level 100?"

Timi was just about to continue going down the list when a voice interrupted him.

"Lily!"

The voice finally brought Timi’s attention fully back to his surroundings.

Not that he had ever truly stopped paying attention to them.

From the moment he’d arrived, Timi had been acutely aware of everything around him.

The enormous walls alone were difficult to ignore. They towered so high that the structures he’d considered impressive in the Zeroth Layer suddenly seemed rather ordinary in comparison.

More uncomfortable, however, were the gazes.

Hundreds of them.

Perhaps even more.

From the camps spread throughout the surrounding area, countless pairs of eyes had turned toward the subsidiary station shortly after it activated.

Timi had noticed them immediately.

He had simply chosen to subconsciously ignore them.

After more than a year on Earth, being watched by strangers was rarely something he enjoyed. Hundreds of strangers watching him simultaneously was considerably worse.

Fortunately, most were far enough away that their attention felt somewhat distant.

Had they been closer, Timi might have experienced another shock entirely by seeing hundreds to thousands of people greeting a certain little princess.

Many of the native Awakeners currently occupying the camps already knew who she was.

Had she walked directly through the camps, greetings of Your Highness would probably have followed her from every direction.

Lily herself was far less impressed by everything around them.

Perhaps during her first few visits, the enormous walls, powerful creatures, and sheer scale of the Eternal Crown had been enough to constantly draw her attention.

After coming here repeatedly, much of that novelty had disappeared.

If anything, visiting the Eternal Crown lately brought with it a slightly unpleasant reminder of her future responsibilities.

Michael had no intention of dumping every newly awakened native onto Evergreen Haven or forcing Lily to personally manage tens of thousands of people.

But that didn’t mean she would be completely free of responsibility.

A hands-off boss was still a boss.

Many of the native Awakeners around them already understood at least that much, even if they didn’t yet know the full structure Michael intended to establish.

Timi’s black eyes moved away from the distant camps and settled on the source of the voice that had called Lily’s name.

A little boy stood in front of them.
