Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1345: Covering The Hole

Chapter 1345: Covering The Hole

The Life Worm immediately moved upon receiving Michael’s command.

She approached without hesitation, her green eyes briefly examining his injuries before a gentle green light emerged from her palms.

A powerful life aura spread through the surrounding darkness.

Michael immediately felt warmth enveloping his body.

It was extremely comfortable.

At least, compared to the terrible pain he had been enduring until now.

The green light gathered around his severed abdomen, gradually penetrating the thin layer of ice covering the wound.

Under the Life Worm’s control, the healing energy began repairing his damaged tissues.

However, the process wasn’t particularly smooth.

Traces of the strange devouring energy still lingered within his injuries, interfering with his regeneration.

As a True Human, Michael possessed an exceptionally powerful healing factor. Unfortunately, with his mana reserves nearly exhausted and foreign energy obstructing the process, his body couldn’t recover at its usual speed.

Fortunately, the Life Worm was there to help.

Under Michael’s observation, the green light spread through his remaining body, gradually separating the foreign energy from his damaged tissues.

Once the interference was removed, Michael actively urged his body to regenerate, cooperating with the Life Worm’s healing power.

The results were immediate.

His bones and flesh began regenerating rapidly, and before long, his missing lower body had been completely restored.

"Finally."

Michael couldn’t help sighing in relief.

Although he had been confident that his body could eventually recover, actually experiencing the destruction of half his body was another matter entirely.

I really need to be more careful with Divine Abilities.

He had learned a rather expensive lesson today.

Fortunately, the damage wasn’t permanent.

Michael circulated the small amount of mana that had recovered during the healing process and carefully examined his internal condition.

His flesh, bones, and organs had returned to normal, with no traces of the foreign energy remaining.

However, his mana reserves were still severely depleted.

Nevertheless, compared to his previous condition, this was hardly a problem. He just needed to meditate for a while, and he’d be as good as new.

"Good work."

Michael looked toward the Life Worm.

The beautiful undead nun bowed slightly, her expression remaining as cold as ever.

With a thought, he recalled her.

The young woman’s body gradually dissolved into ash, returning to Michael and disappearing into his body.

Once she was gone, Michael finally turned toward Lunara and handed her an Evolution Essence Crystal as thanks and hush money before she could start complaining.

Lunara narrowed her eyes.

"Only one?"

"..."

Michael’s expression stiffened.

Evolution Essence Crystals weren’t ordinary resources, and the one Michael had handed her was even Epic grade. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t have had the chance to so much as smell one.

He took a deep breath.

"Do you want it or not?"

Lunara immediately reached forward.

"Of course!"

The crystal disappeared into her hand. She examined it with obvious satisfaction before devouring its essence, causing her aura to grow a little stronger again.

Before the ghost could think of anything else, Michael urged her back into his body and changed into a fresh set of clothes.

Afterward, he examined himself briefly. Apart from his severely depleted mana reserves, there was nothing particularly wrong with him anymore.

However, he wasn’t exactly in a condition to face the commotion waiting above.

I should recover first.

With that thought, Michael returned to the Mausoleum.

Compared to the ruined palace, the Mausoleum was a much better place to recover. After finding a suitable location, Michael sat cross-legged and began meditating, absorbing the surrounding energy to replenish his reserves.

Time passed.

By the time he opened his eyes again, a considerable portion of his mana had recovered.

Without wasting any more time, Michael returned to the Land of Origin and reappeared within the enormous hole beneath the imperial palace.

Looking at the destruction surrounding him, Michael sighed.

What a mess.

Fortunately, repairing the damage wasn’t particularly difficult for someone like him. The only troublesome part was explaining what had happened, though he had no intention of doing that.

Power really did change people.

Michael hadn’t understood that feeling in his previous life or before his awakening.

To put it simply, it was wrong if he wasn’t involved but wasn’t when he was.

Michael circulated his mana and flew upward. Within moments, he emerged from the darkness.

"His Majesty?!"

One of the supernaturals immediately noticed him. The shout attracted the attention of everyone nearby.

"Your Majesty!"

"His Majesty is alive!"

"Thank goodness!"

The dozens of supernaturals hovering above the hole hurriedly approached him. Some looked genuinely relieved, while others appeared to have finally put down an enormous burden.

"Your Majesty, what happened here?"

"Was there an attack?"

"Did you encounter an enemy?"

Questions came from every direction.

Michael raised his hand.

"Enough. I’m fine."

The surrounding supernaturals immediately fell silent. Seeing that their Emperor appeared completely unharmed, their expressions relaxed considerably.

"As for what happened here, there’s no need for you to concern yourselves with it for now."

Michael glanced toward the city.

"I understand there have been some disturbances throughout the capital. Focus on restoring order and ensuring that no innocent citizens are harmed."

The elderly Great Mage hesitated.

"Your Majesty, what about the palace?"

"I’ll handle it."

"..."

Although the people around him were curious, none dared question him further. After receiving their orders, they bowed and hurriedly departed.

Michael watched them leave before turning his attention toward the enormous hole.

Once the surrounding area was clear, he raised his hand. A faint fluctuation spread through the air, and within moments, an enormous illusion barrier appeared, completely concealing the damaged section of the palace from outside observation.

Satisfied, Michael summoned two hundred undead from his Mausoleum.

They were not chosen at random, as all of them possessed earth-related abilities. Although their individual strengths weren’t particularly impressive compared to Michael’s more powerful undead, they were more than sufficient for construction work.

"Let’s fill the hole and stabilize the surrounding ground," Michael ordered.

The undead immediately began working. Rumbling sounds spread throughout the area as enormous quantities of earth and stone moved under their control.

The walls of the hole gradually collapsed inward, while layers of soil and rock rose from beneath the ground to fill the missing sections.

Michael also assisted occasionally, using his own abilities to stabilize the terrain and accelerate the process.

With two hundred earth-attribute undead working simultaneously, the enormous hole began disappearing at a visible rate.

Meanwhile, back in Aurora, Michael stared at the dark clouds with a helpless look on his face.

"It truly is a heavenly tribulation."
