Chapter 1346: Idea To Create A Body
Chapter 1346: Idea To Create A Body
A few minutes earlier, Brian had barely managed to thank Michael, tears gathering in his eyes, before he was forced to concentrate on his advancement.
Although Michael had long acknowledged that extraordinary individuals existed in this world, witnessing one advance from Rank 3 to Rank 4 after barely a year still left him feeling somewhat bitter.
Michael sighed, suddenly understanding why some of the seniors he had encountered always emphasized his age with a somewhat bitter tone whenever they spoke to him.
Of course, Michael wasn’t genuinely jealous of Brian. He was happy for him. Brian’s successful advancement was a good thing, and Michael hoped he could overcome the heavenly tribulation without any problems.
He was just a little salty since his own advancement to Rank 4 wasn’t anywhere in sight.
Sigh. Forget it. Everyone has their own path.
With that thought, Michael turned his attention toward Brian.
The man was seated cross-legged on the ground a considerable distance away from him and Isabella. His eyes were closed, and his expression was solemn as he concentrated entirely on his advancement.
Above him, the dark clouds continued gathering.
Michael could already sense several powerful gazes directed toward their location, and the number was gradually increasing.
Michael started considering what precautions to take, knowing that Brian’s current situation was similar to Lily’s.
The tribulation wasn’t likely to begin anytime soon, perhaps not until a day later, due to reasons only Brian himself might understand.
Regardless of how long it took, Michael couldn’t simply leave him alone.
Just as he was contemplating his next move, a voice sounded beside him.
"Senior."
Michael turned to look at the skeleton beside him before suddenly smiling.
"You know, there’s actually no need for you to keep calling me Senior."
Isabella tilted her skull slightly.
"Hm?"
"I’m only nineteen years old."
"..."
For a moment, Isabella didn’t react. However, despite her current appearance as a skeleton, Michael could immediately sense the overwhelming disbelief coming from her.
It was almost amusing.
After all, he had only told her his age. Was that really so difficult to believe?
Of course, Michael understood why she was surprised. Considering the strength he had displayed and the things he had accomplished, anyone would naturally assume he was much older.
Even among supernaturals, reaching his level at nineteen was practically unheard of.
"Y-you..."
Isabella finally managed to speak.
"S-Senior, you must be jesting!"
Her voice carried such disbelief that Michael couldn’t help chuckling. Unfortunately, he had no intention of explaining himself.
Whether she believed him or not was her business.
"I’m serious, but you don’t have to believe me."
He smiled before adding,
"In any case, just call me Michael from now on."
"..."
Isabella fell silent. Although she still found his claim almost impossible to believe, she didn’t dare question him further.
As for calling him by his name, she didn’t have the bones of steel yet.
Michael shook his head at her reaction.
It wasn’t that he was hiding his identity from Isabella. Due to the strange relationship between her and Brian, Michael hadn’t had much to do with her except to return her to her father when he had the time.
Subconsciously, having treated her as just one of the many undead around him, he hadn’t bothered much with how she addressed him or with cultivating a relationship with her.
Of course, the situation was a bit different now since he had confirmed she was indeed Brian’s daughter.
A little more goodwill now wasn’t bad, even if they would probably start seeing each other even less.
"By the way, what was it you wanted to talk about?" Michael reminded Isabella.
"It was actually nothing important, Se... Sir... Mr. Michael."
Isabella hesitated slightly before continuing.
"I just wanted to know what your plans are for the current situation, if you don’t mind telling me."
Michael glanced toward Brian.
"What else? Your father is advancing to Rank 4. Naturally, I can’t just leave him here without protection."
He paused before adding,
"Unfortunately, I also have several things to take care of, so I can’t remain here the entire time. I’ll leave some of my undead to guard this place and return occasionally to check on his progress."
Isabella nodded, feeling a bit relieved.
It couldn’t be helped. Her death had been related to an advancement to a major rank, and the experience had left a lasting scar on her.
Michael noticed her reaction and became curious.
"Why? Did you think I was planning to take you back with me?"
"N-no!"
Isabella immediately shook her head.
"That wasn’t what I meant!"
Michael couldn’t help finding it amusing.
However, just as he was about to dismiss the matter, a thought suddenly occurred to him. He looked at the skeleton beside him again.
Actually...
Taking her back might not be such a bad idea.
Michael’s gaze lingered on Isabella for several seconds, making the latter somewhat uncomfortable.
"Se... Sir?"
"Hm?"
"Is something wrong?"
"No. I was just thinking about something."
Michael smiled faintly.
"Actually, perhaps taking you back with me wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all."
"..."
Isabella fell silent.
What is worth doing should be done well, Michael thought.
Considering everything that had happened, Michael felt that he had already done quite a good deed. However, looking at Isabella’s skeletal appearance, he suddenly felt that the matter wasn’t quite complete.
Since I’ve already come this far, I might as well give it a proper ending.
And what better way to conclude the matter than to give Isabella a new body?
Of course, Michael wasn’t planning to create the same kind of clone body that Jester and Arianne possessed.
Those bodies were rather special, and recreating them wasn’t something he intended to do casually.
Fortunately, he had other options. Although he hadn’t originally collected them with Isabella in mind, finding one compatible with her shouldn’t be too difficult.
As for transforming such a body into something she could use, Michael wasn’t particularly worried.
After all, he had already gained valuable experience when creating Arianne’s body.
