Chapter 501: We need you

Chapter 501: We need you

"...the chances of a possible conflict between the three forces arising during that time is high and could possibly lead to a large-scale guild war" Layfun added.

"Yeah, and it's something to look forward to"

Just imagining that chaotic scene of high testosterone where arrows and skills are flying randomly in all directions with monsters amongst the fray and causing chaos within the human ranks made Tierra giddy with excitement!

Looking at his sister, Layfun lightly shook his head and thought, 'This is bad. I need to make sure I can restrain her during that time since I have no doubt that she'll be the one who will throw down the gauntlet first, possibly leading to the worst case scenario"

"Why am I even troubled by this? It's not like it would be her first time doing something stupid at the wrong place, at the wrong time" In the end, Layfun just shrugged his shoulders as he knew that anything he does to prevent his sister would all just end up in the drain.

"What's taking you so long? Hurry up!"

"C-coming!"

Jolted awake from his thoughts, Layfun yelped in surprise and hurriedly chased after Tierra.

Meanwhile, back to Solitary Tempest.

The woman was able to get past the hurdle since the monster horde didn't find her.

No, I think it was more appropriate to say that even though most of the monsters didn't find her, but a few of the powerful ones did sense where she was hiding but didn't bother to trouble her since she's only considered an ant in their eyes.

That also goes the same for the Snow Village, the monster horde just ignored them and circled around them like they were poop stuck in the middle of the road.

"It seems the protection that Sonya left still works" she murmured with a sigh of relief after receiving a report that the village had managed to remain safe in the middle of this calamity.

"Now then, it seems there needs to be a change of plans since most monster in the region had left their homes to join the horde"

With the horde bringing most monsters along with it, the chances of her dying this time has been greatly reduced and finding rare items would also become easier since the security around those treasures would certainly become lax.

"Does this mean I can just waltz through that mountain road?" while walking, she couldn't help but had the idea of just taking the path through the mountain pass since most monsters in the region had significantly lessened.

"Hmmm…the worst that can happen is that I unluckily meet a formidable monster and die" with that decision in mind, Solitary Tempest steadily made her way towards the mountain pass while she battled through the cold weather, alongside the difficulty of moving forward because of the decades of piled up snow.

Where she's not even sure if she's really stepping on hard ground or just snow that has hardened through the passing of time.

"I really wonder how those Orcs had survived these kinds of conditions while wearing clothes that barely covered anything?" Because of her hiding under a pile of snow earlier for a prolonged period of time to avoid detection, this had slightly compromised her ability to regulate her body temperature since the attire she's wearing had become slightly wet and this could also lead to a somewhat dangerous situation since this would certainly hinder her movements once it becomes hard.

"Let's just get done with this as quickly as possible"

Solitary Tempest continued on the road while murmuring under her breath.

On the other hand, Michael had left his house and headed towards his friend's place, Dylan.

Around 20 minutes later, Michael was nearing his destination and he immediately spotted Dylan, where he saw him standing in front of their house by the side of the road.

"Mike, over here!" Dylan started walking towards the car as he yelled while waving at him.

"Good day, Ms. G!"

Ignoring his friend, Michael first greeted Dylan's mother, Adalind Mcgrier, whom he hadn't seen in a long while.

"Good day to you too, Mike. I haven't seen you around lately, what have you been up to?" she asked, approaching them slowly while she watered the plants in their front yard.

"Been busy here and there. By the way, how's Tina?" Michael asked while his eyes started exploring around her.

"Dude, stop checking out my mom" Dylan lightly punched his shoulder when he noticed what Michael was doing.

Rolling her eyes, Adalind replied; "Uggh! Don't even get me started with her! Ever since you bought her that gaming helmet, all she has been doing is lying around on her bed almost every day, addicted to that game you're all playing ever since. I should be mad, but this at least reassures me knowing that she's not out there in the streets and possibly get herself into trouble"

"Anyway, we'll be off now, Ms. G!"

"Alright, be careful on the road"

"Bye mom! We'll be back before dinner!"

Michael wanted to talk more, but he noticed Dylan motioning him from the passenger side to get a move on with the talk. So with no other choice, he quickly ended their conversation and slowly drove off.

"Stop checking out my mom man, she's off limits"

"Can't, it is human nature to admire beautiful things"

"Shut up, stop being a creep. You already have a girlfriend"

"Pot calling the kettle black"

"Uggh! I hate you man"

****

"So why did you call me?"

Five minutes down the road, Michael finally addressed the elephant in the room.

"What do you mean?" acting confused, Dylan replied.

"Come on, we've known each other for years. Do you think I haven't yet learned that you only ask me to hang out when you have something to ask or wanted something from me? Besides, I've always been the one who always asks you to hang out, not the other way around my friend" Michael answered with a laugh and made a turn at the junction.

"Fine, but first, why don't we go for a drive-thru while we talk?" Dylan said while motioning towards a building with a large bee in red and yellow stripes at the front.

Michael nodded as he was also feeling slightly hungry after his short workout before this.

"Anyway, where are you right now in the game? Are you finished with your matters at Neverwinter?" Dylan said while looking at something on his phone.

Michael looked at him from the other corner of his eye and answered, "Not yet, I got captured by a powerful monster which delayed my progress"

"Damn, how unlucky of you" Dylan tried comforting him, but couldn't hide the sneaky grin on his face, seeming pleased at his friend's unlucky encounter.

'It's something you doesn't hear everyday'

"Though how long before you can escape from that monster?"

"I'm not sure, but I have a hunch that I would probably barely finish it. So I'd probably be delayed a lot from my initial plan" Michael answered with a shrug as it made him annoyed when he remembered how she hanged him upside down for hours and made him unable to log out because of it.

"That can't happen! We..no, the guild needs your help! I mean, the entirety of the Revenant Guild!" Dylan panicked when he heard his words and quickly blurted his purpose of asking him to hang out.

Michael threw him a quick glance before shifting his attention on the road and joined the line on the drive-thru.

"Just talk man, stop wasting our time"

"Fine" Dylan answered, then with a sigh, he continued;

"We..the guild stumbled on a Unique Quest and we need the assistance of your guild!"

"..."

"What? You're kidding"
