Chapter 503: Can I ride it?
Chapter 503: Can I ride it?
"I knew you had a motive on insisting that I stay for dinner"
Michael laughed after listening to what Tina had said.
"Oh come on, can I borrow your car, please?" Tina said with puppy dog eyes.
"Why do you need to borrow mine when you can just borrow your mom's or Dylan's?" Michael was torn between letting her borrow it or not since a good car is like having a girlfriend that is always up for a ride.
No man, in their right minds, would let someone else ride it, much less lend it to them!
"But yours is an Urus, and theirs is just a common seen car. It's like comparing a supermodel to an average girl in the streets!" Tina replied with a shrug.
"Hey! Next time, you're not ever going to borrow mine, you can go buy your own car!" Dylan yelled in annoyance at his sister after hearing her whining.
"Yours is a damn Honda, you can't pick up pretty chicks in that" Tina snorted.
"It's a Toyota! And only gold diggers go for the nice looking cars" Dylan was on the verge of smacking the back of his sister's head.
"I know, but women are vain. They won't say anything, but deep inside, who wouldn't want to sit inside a luxury car?" Tina snickered with her arms crossed.
Hearing her words, Michael couldn't also help but feel that she does make a point with her words, though only slightly.
"You know, but Urus is also pretty common. Besides, you still haven't told us why you kept insisting on borrowing mine when your household has two cars to pick from" Michael said with a snicker as he also couldn't help but laugh at that comparison between the two cars.
Startled like cat, Tina's eyes darted around for a moment before timidly saying, "Uhhh, actually, I'm attending a girl's night today and obviously, I want to attend it in a car better than ours"
Surprised, Dylan couldn't help but raise his voice, "A girl's night out?! Have you told mom about this?"
Tina glared at her brother and replied, "If I didn't, would I have been pestering Michael like this?"
Petrified, Dylan didn't have a rebuttal on that one if their mother had already given her permission.
With a sigh, Michael asked, "Why a girls night? Isn't the Flame Rose Guild preparing for that Unique Quest? Is it really okay for you to do this when your guild is busy?"
She turned to Michael and said, "Ohhh, about that, since the quest would happen only on the day after tomorrow. The girls in the guild decided to meet up and have a get together since we don't know long the Unique Quest will last. So everyone wanted to have fun before all of that since we won't have a lot of free time soon"
"How come I wasn't informed about that? Does Allison know about this?" Dylan asked, a little envious inside since it had been a while when he had a night out with their friends.
Rolling her eyes at him, "And why should we tell you? It's only for the girls, and yes, Allison already knows and she's also coming"
Turning to Michael, Dylan said, "Should we also have a boys night with the others?"
Michael just shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. All I know is that I'm going to receive an earful from Amanda later"
"So can I borrow it then?" Tina still tried to act cute while her brother looked at her with a disgusted look on his face.
He just let out a sigh, "Fine, but if you even put a scratch or dent on my car, you'll be paying for its repairs, got it?"
Happy, Tinna replied cheerfully, "Don't worry! I received a perfect score during my driver's test!"
Hearing her words, regret suddenly welled up inside him and he wanted to take back his words.
But as a man of his word, he just shut his mouth.
'Oh well, it's not like I can't afford it if she really does get it scratched or dented'
"Anyway, I still need the car to go to Jenny's house. So you have to come with me, only then can you take the car back with you after you drop me there" Michael said, and with a helpless gait, he boarded his car with Tina who cheerfully sat in the passenger side.
'He's screwed' Dylan thought as he watched them drive away. Even he couldn't trust his sister to drive his car all by herself and that he should always be present whenever she tries to even sit behind the wheel.
He didn't want to take any chances.
"I should go back inside the game and prepare for the subjugation" Dylan muttered under his breath before making his way back inside their house.
Shua!
Arriving inside his room, Dylan immediately entered the game and appeared beside the large fountain in the middle of the city square, and like him, there are also players entering the game and emerging around the vicinity of the fountain.
Cereal Killer quickly opened his Guild Interface and immediately noticed that almost half of the guild is offline.
"Including me, there's only two officers currently online?" he suddenly felt empty while looking at the list of grayed names.
[Anyone want to team up with me to grind?] Cereal Killer constructed and sent it to the guild channel.
Gojojo: [We're planning on raiding the local dungeon in the city and we are currently missing a Main Damage Dealer, do you want to come with us?]
[Party Leader - Gojojo has invited you to join their party]
[Accept] [Decline]
Not even a few seconds had passed when someone immediately replied to him and even sent a Party Invitation.
[You have joined a party]
[Where should we meet?]
Cereal Killer didn't even hesitate and quickly accepted the invitation.
Gojojo: [We are currently in the shopping street across the City Lord's residence. We're stocking up potions and other necessities for the dungeon dive]
Cereal Killer: [Okay, I'll meet you there]
Closing the party channel, Dylan started moving towards the direction of the City Lord's residence.
Along the way, Cereal Killer noticed that there was an increase of soldiers patrolling the streets of the city.
"Did the news of the monster horde finally reach here?" he muttered under his breath while watching a group of soldiers walk past him.
'I hope this won't affect the upcoming quest' Cereal Killer thought with a frown.
