Chapter 508: Meeting the Red Baron

Chapter 508: Meeting the Red Baron

"Shut up, I knew coming with you was a bad idea"

"What's done is done. You're already entangled in this mess" Genesis just shrugged his shoulders towards his complaints.

Monk just helplessly sighed before saying, "You know that what we're doing would cause a huge storm that might cause tensions to rise between nations, right? And if we're unlucky, then another war between the giants will happen, and at that time, we'll be at the center of this storm. This will also implicate the others, you better think this through"

"You're telling me this now? Shouldn't you have told me those things before we embarked on this?" Genesis said with a laugh.

Monk smirked and with a shrugged of his shoulders, he replied, "Well…it sounded fun"

With a chuckle, Genesis said, "Right, about the others getting implicated. If they were really scared and worried about ti, they would have stopped us the first time I brought up this idea to them"

"I know, I was just casually saying those in passing. I know those guys were even more eager about coming with you than me" Monk said with a shrug, he's just that kind of guy, someone who just goes with the flow of things.

"Anyway, enough about us, but I've always been curious. What do you think about that guy so far after knowing him?" Genesis said, his expression hinting at a specific someone.

Monk raised quite an eyebrow at his friend's question, he thought for a few seconds before saying, "Hmm…talented, cunning? And sneaky too, money grubber and probably add horny on the list too? Ohh, he sometimes doesn't return things he borrowed, and that annoys me the most!"

"And he's a great fighter, he would almost beat Rammus everytime they both spar against each other" Genesis added while Monk also nodded in agreement and by Rammus, it's what they call Chakram, his real name.

Three hours later, a plane landed at one of the airports in Zubr Nation, just west of the Federation of the City States, whose people are famous for being close to Bears.

On the other hand, Monk and Genesis had just exited the gate and hailed a cab.

"Where to sirs?" asked the cab driver in English with a thick slavic accent.

Genesis double checked his phone to look at something before replying, "Red's Fishing and Tackle"

"Alright, I know that place. Sit tight" the cap driver replied and turned his body forward before driving off.

"Hey, did that guy really open a fishing store?"

Monk and Genesis are currently standing before a two story building, with the lower floor surrounded by glass windows where anyone can see most of the wares sold inside while the upper floor obviously looks like the residential part of the building since everyone can clearly see clothes hanging to dry by the balcony.

"Don't ask me, I've also just come to know about it when he sent me a text message earlier"

A sudden realization dawned on him and Monk said, "Now that I think about it, I think he mentioned about opening a store related to his hobby, and this is it, its just weird that-"

"Oh my~ didn't you know that talking about people behind their backs is bad? How rude of you sir"

Monk was talking when both men were suddenly interrupted by a voice that was in between feminine and masculine, and it sounded grating to their ears. Similar to hearing nails scratching along a chalkboard or a sharpie against a paper.

They simultaneously turned their bodies around and their eyes immediately laid on the figure standing a couple of meters from them.

He stands at six feet tall, with his long white hair tied into a ponytail and dressed in a similar fashion like Vladimir of Noxus with that knee-high boots, vertically striped pants, and a slim overcoat with a massive, regal collar.

Worthy of the name..

"Red Baron, are you cosplaying or what?" Monk asked, with eyes seemingly hurt looking at the man's outfit.

Red Baron sneered at him with his arms crossed, "Says the guy who looks like a beggar"

His face scrunched looked at his outfit, "I'm wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, how the heck does that make me a beggar?"

"No s-"

"Enough, arguing with each other like kids, are the two of you not embarrassed? Anyway, it is good to see you Benny, how about we take this inside? People are staring because of you two"

Genesis quickly butted in as he was afraid that their childish argument might escalate into a brawl.

'Why do men act like kids the older they get?' he thought while he gave Benny a quick hug.

"It has been a while, Genesis. I wouldn't have recognized you if you never opened your mouth with that face mask you're wearing" Ignoring Monk who is glaring at him, Benny turned his attention to his old friend.

"Come on, let's take this talk at the back"

***

"Boss"

Leading the way, Benny brought them into the room behind the register with the employee manning it politely greeting them and Benny just answered him with a nod.

Inside, Benny gestured for them to stay put as he walked over before a shelf of books and started pulling multiple books out, just tilting outward.

Click. Click. Clack!

Soon, the sound of gears softly sounded from behind the bookshelf and the furniture itself slightly lifted off from the floor and slid to the side like a sliding door.

The lights turned on revealing an elevator with a classic design like those elevators made from around the 20th century.

"Let's go"

The two and a half men silently entered the elevator and the machine slowly brought them underground amidst the deafening silence between them.

"Welcome to the Bat Cave!" Benny grandly introduced the place with his arms spread wide open, looking incredibly proud!

"More like a storage unit" Monk gave a chuckle as he looked around the place that looked incredibly gloomy because of the lightning in place.

The underground space is incredibly spacious, and with Genesis's estimate, it might be around 500 to 600 square meters and like Monk had said, the place looks more like a storage unit than a so-called bat cave since most of the space is occupied by weapons.

Genny just ignored him and walked towards a long table in the middle of the spacious room.

On the table, there's different kinds of weapons on display, from rifles to the smallest knife.

"So, why did you come all the way here from the other side of the planet? I know for sure that you didn't come here just to visit me, right?"

Benny said while eyeing Genesis who's currently moving about and inspecting the weapons stored around the space.
