Chapter 512: Possible TVA?

"Are you two hiding something from me? If you do, then just fess up. It won't do us any good!"

Amanda glared at them, and Michael just calmly shook his head and replied, "I really don't know anything. If I did, I wouldn't have mind sharing it with you"

"Same goes for me, and I told you before. Ever since I told my father that I wouldn't join the succession race, a lot of privileges I had as the eldest child disappeared. Before, I had my own security detail, now I only two security assigned to look after my safety"

'Not including the gang members loyal to you though' Amanda added in her mind and gave her best friend an eye roll for lying through her teeth.

"Right! I almost forgot! Have you two already heard what happened to Jin?" Jenny snapped her fingers and quickly sat up from the sofa.

"Why..what happened to that guy?" Amanda asked, curious, while Michael just looked at Jenny, quietly waiting for what she's about to say since he's also curious as he had stopped paying attention to the guy starting from their last encounter with each other.

Jenny with a nonchalant look on her face and with a shrugged, she said, "Well, someone crippled him bad"

Hearing it, Amanda also shrugged her shoulders, "Well, that jerk deserves it after all of the dirty things he did"

"So, who's the one who crippled that crybaby?" On the other hand, Michael was more curious about the person who dared to do it.

With a sip of her cup, Jenny calmly replied, "It's the mayor's son"

"Who?!" Amanda felt like she didn't hear her right and asked again to make sure.

"You know, it's that kid who always comes to your coffee shop before dusk," Jenny explained and had a chuckle when she saw her reaction to the news.

"I know, I just had to ask again to make sure I was hearing it right" Amanda said as she couldn't hide the shock on her face, while Michael on the other hand was genuinely confused and at the same time wasn't surprised that the timeline had branched out again due to his interference multiple times.

'I wonder if, like in the movies, this universe also has its own TVA?' Michael thought, genuinely curious and also a little scared at the possibility.

'What if they do exist and they're the reason for my current situation?' Michael immediately sat up as such absurd thoughts made him shiver and he couldn't help but suddenly think that everything that's been happening to him is being observed.

"What's wrong?" Amanda asked when she noticed Michael's actions like a startled rabbit.

"Nothing, I just need to go to the bathroom" Michael quickly came up with an excuse and got up from the sofa and headed towards the bathroom under the gaze of the two women.

"Alright, continue to what you were saying earlier" Amanda said as she turned her attention back to her friend.

On the other hand, Michael arrived at the bathroom and he's currently standing before the mirror while leaning against the sink.

"Damn, I suddenly can't get rid of that idea inside my head" Michael complained as the thought of someone spying on him the entire time was somewhat making him uncomfortable.

"I just hope some god was behind this instead of an advanced human organization. Uggh, and just the thought of someone spying on us while we're doing the deed is making me annoyed and extremely uncomfortable" Michael voiced out his thoughts in a small voice while he kept touching the back of his neck.

Now that thought will never easily leave him.

He'll keep thinking about it until the last days.

Michael took a deep breath then exhaled, he looked at the time on his phone and saw that it was just past 9 AM.

"I think I'll just distract myself with cooking lunch since I don't really have any expectations of either of those two if they cook. It's hard to pretend that the food tastes good" Michael muttered with a shiver before leaving the bathroom.

Trillions of light years away, an unknown light coming from an unknown direction suddenly appeared and started blinking at the same beat of that of a heartbeat, before disappearing a few seconds later.

In a room somewhere inside the headquarters of Mine Tech. Industries.

"Those two will sooner or later get themselves into trouble if they keep making such a ruckus!" a deep and authoritative voice of a man echoed inside the room, it was mixed with helplessness and anger.

"We already talked to them, but nothing's stopping them this time. Besides, doesn't this also benefit us since those people that fell under them had been a huge thorn in our side? Isn't that the reason why you've sent the "cleaners" to clean up their mess?" Another voice also emerged, this time it was a woman's voice that also carried authority mixed with playfulness.

Bang!

"It does benefit us one way or another, but it's hard to clean up their mess since we're moving a lot of resources and people. Let's also not forget that those people would now think that it's actually us who are behind all of this mess!"

The sound of something slamming at a table rang, followed by the man yelling in anger.

"This is trouble I tell you! We're walking on thin ice with this one. I can only hope that none of them gets killed or captured since this would certainly be traced back to us due to our relation with each other" said the man with a sigh.

Snort!

Hearing his words, the woman couldn't help but let out a combination of a chuckle and snort, "Captured? Killed? Those two? Among those old fools, those two are the most slippery among them. Even Zero had to ask us for assistance when he was looking for them, especially that bastard Genesis, he's always ten steps ahead of his plans.

If only the organization was as capable today, then some of those people might have already been standing shoulder to shoulder with Zero. Unfortunately, a few of them are already old while some are already tired of that life and just wanted to get away with it. One of them is even living with a woman and her kids now.
