Chapter 519: Title Unidentified
As soon as the agreement came into effect, the gears of fate started moving again.
Storm Moonlight, Viper, Ripley and the others immediately made their preparations upon receiving the news from Michael. All of them quickly finished what they were doing and hastily made their way to the nearest port on the back of their uniquely shaped mounts.
Storm Moonlight and Ripley are currently traveling together along a trodden path where they are surrounded by a sea of trees.
"Are we heading in the right direction?" Storm Moonlight turned to her friend and asked.
Ripley gave a quick glance on the mini map before replying, "Don't worry, I've visited this place a couple of times already"
"Ohhh, but are you sure the others know the way here?" Storm Moonlight brought up another question.
"Viper knows this place, but we'll have to pick up Black Sparrow and Chakram along the way since they don't know this place and are too far from this place" Ripley patiently answered her inquiries.
"That's good then. On a side note, I've still not gotten used to using our in-game names and if you have noticed, I still tend to call you guys in your in-game names" Storm Moonlight shared.
"That's normal. I was also like that during the first couple of weeks when we started playing this game" Ripley replied.
"Anyway, I didn't expect that Shadow actually managed to make the Flame Rose Guild cough up 30% of the profits that will be gained during the Main Quest. My initial expectation was only 20% since there were also other guilds who will be joining us" Storm Moonlight said with a quick tilt of her head, amazement written on her face.
"..."
"If we had more members, then maybe taking half of the profits wouldn't have been impossible," Storm Moonlight added after a short silence.
Listening to her, Ripley slightly tilted her head to the side as a sign of disagreement, "I doubt that would be even possible. Thirty percent of the profits was already stretching it, and anything more than that would only cause a strain between our relationship with them. Most especially the two best friends, Shadow and Cereal Killer.
Those two would certainly be caught in between a rock and a hard place. Too much greed does not bring anything good and it's what also almost got you killed a few years back if Viper didn't saved you"
"Tsk!"
Storm Moonlight just clicked her tongue in annoyance as she didn't have any word to reply to that.
Moments later and out of curiosity, Storm Moonlight couldn't help but open her mouth once again and asked, "By the way, why are we taking our sweet time? Shouldn't we rush over there?"
"Viper is still on his way here so we can take our time and enjoy the scenery around us" Ripley replied.
Rattle!
It wasn't even a minute when the two women had distracted themselves into the world of fashion when they heard the rattling sound of a cart ahead of them, and they were just in time to see a carriage emerging from the downward slope ahead of them.
"Seems like someone important is coming" Ripley said the moment she saw the group of knights escorting the carriage along with whoever's house coat of arms flying above their heads.
"It's a Baron"
Storm Moonlight made some guesses when she saw that there were only about a dozen of knights escorting the carriage at the forefront, and trailing behind them are three roofed wagons with a platoon of soldiers escorting them on both sides.
The two had already seen noble convoys far more grandiose than the one ahead of them. Those nobles had a multitude of knights escorting them with a contingent of soldiers at their disposal. Most of those nobles were at the upper echelons of the nobility, like Earls, Marquises and above.
"Could be, just don't do anything suspicious since we'll die if they attack us" Ripley warned since there were already a lot of times that they had an altercation with the nobles of this world. The end result was always the same, they would flee and would have to lie low for a while as some nobles would place bounties on their heads.
The two groups peacefully passed by each other under the close watch of the Knights, but Storm Moonlight, due to her itching curiosity couldn't help but take a quick glance towards the carriage and immediately noticed the cute blue haired little girl around 6 or 7 years old staring at them with an animated expression from the window.
"I told you to stop looking outside Patricia"
"But mom, those were Hell Horse they were riding on, right?!"
"Be quiet, those people are dangerous people, Patricia. You must, in any circumstances in the future, never associate with those kinds of people, understood?"
"But mother-"
"No buts, are my instructions clear?"
"Yes mother"
When she noticed Storm Moonlight looking at her, she smiled and was about to just wave at her when someone abruptly closed the curtain in front of her. The distance between the groups was just convienient enough for Ripley and Storm Moonlight to hear the conversation taking place inside the carriage.
As the little girl named Patricia had mentioned, the two women are currently riding on a mount called Hell Horse. It was something they had gotten during the Undead Horde event and from killing the high ranking Undead, Death Knights.
It bears close similarities to a black Evony horse, but these ones have hooves covered in green flames that would scorch the ground it steps on and with their tails partially covered in flames, but its most noticeable features are the green soul fires inside their eye sockets.
The two women looked at each other, then glanced down at their mounts.
"I guess we do look dangerous riding them," Ripley said with a chuckle, not bothered by what the noble woman had said about them.
"Exactly! Aren't they cute too?"
"Err.."
Storm Moonlight voiced out in agreement, but the latter part of her words made Ripley speechless.
'She's hopeless, this trait of hers that finds unusual things cute is what turns off the people who wanted to pursue her before. I guess, she'd be single for a little while longer' shamelessly thought of the woman who was also single for years now.
