Chapter 531: Tricking The Dragons

Thud! Thud! Thud!

"Bloody bastards! What the heck are you f*ckers doing?!"

Suddenly, a portal covered in magical inscriptions appeared at the edge of Mount Rasborg and the familiar figure of Shadow was thrown out from it as he rolled on the snow covered ground and angrily yelled at the figures exiting the portal.

"Leave, and don't ever come back. The next time you do, we will take your head"

The centaur from earlier who convinced the woman to let Shadow go walked out from the portal with two more centaurs in tow and gave Shadow an ultimatum.

"You don't have to be so rough. Is this really how you treat a guest?" Shadow calmed down and started dusting off the snow on his clothes.

"It's because you don't listen, human" the centaur argued back.

"Tch, what about my Drake Egg? Are you just using the excuse of kicking me out and actually wanting to steal it from me?" Shadow clicked his tongue and out of worry inquired about the Drake Egg he had left behind, or more specifically, taken from him…forcefully!

"Hmmp!"

The centaur couldn't help but let out a snort after hearing such words, even his two minions behind him couldn't control themselves and sneered at such absurd notions!

"Please don't lump us together with you humans who doesn't know how to keep their words" the centaur said, then he added, "Do not worry about your Drake Egg, we will deliver it to you in a special container before it hatches"

"Now leave, Sage Laura's disciple. We do not want your presence here"

"Wait! What's your name?"

"I'm Harley, the Chief of the Centaurs!"

After saying what he wanted to say, Harley, Centaur Chief turned around and was about to return to the portal when Shadow suddenly yelled asking for his name, he stopped for a moment and told him his name before disappearing into the portal.

"Hey Adventurer! Make sure to remember us too! I'm David and this is my little brother, Sun! Mark my words, if you ever try to come here again, your head shall be mine to take!" David yelled while pointing his halberd towards Shadow and he sounded incredibly righteous for someone talking about taking someone's life.

"I'm looking forward to the day you return here. I've never taken down a Sage disciple before, just thinking about it is already making me shiver in excitement!" Sun said as his body suddenly started shaking and that crazed look on his face even disgusted both Shadow and his brother.

"Shut it! Just go brother before father scolds us" David said and urged his brother to return as they both disappeared into the portal and it slowly closed behind them.

Shadow was left there scratching the back of his head in confusion.

"Do I actually have the face of a villain? Why are those two suddenly announcing that they want to kill me when we were just meeting each other the first time? Do they have a screw loose in their head?"

"And who's so mad to actually name those father and sons, Harley, David and Sun? Crazy bastard!" Shadow let out a chuckle while thinking about their names.

"Achoo! I think someone is talking bad behind my back" somewhere inside Mine Tech. Industries, an unknown figure let out an earth shattering sneeze before he went back to his work while mumbling to himself.

"I guess, this mission was a success huh? Hahaha!"

Shadow flopped down on the snowy ground and let out a jubilant laugher!

"Man~ I didn't expect that it would actually work. Here I thought Master was just messing around. Though being a Sage disciple was a major help since they didn't kill me on the get go since they would immediately kill me outright if I didn't carry such status.

Fortunately, I didn't get trapped there for a very long time, or else Master had to actually come and rescue me" Master smiled as he let out a chuckle while reminiscing about the day when he went back to visit Sage Laura days after he acquired the mutated Drake Egg.

"What do you think, master?" Shadow inquired while watching his master inspect the Drake Egg in her hands.

Sage Laura scrutinized the egg with curiosity, "Interesting, it has been a while since I've seen an Egg produced from the union of two opposing elements"

"I've been finding ways to hatch it, but there has been no progress so far master" Shadow explained.

"Yes, that's why you came to me, understandable. After all, hatching a mutated drake egg is not the same as hatching a normal one. You can only hatch this one if you follow the process on how dragon eggs are hatched" Sage Laura explained and threw the egg back to Shadow who hastily caught it and sent it back to his Pet Space.

"So what is this process, master?" Shadow immediately followed behind her and quickly served her tea when she sat down by her window.

"First and probably the "easiest", you can go and visit Hiccup and ask for his help in hatching that egg since he's in possession of an item called Pearl of the Ocean. That item creates an unadulterated environment of water energy, which is one half of your Drake Egg. Unfortunately, Hiccup and I are currently not on good terms so we can cross that out" Sage Laura said.

'Then why bother to even mention it!' Shadow screamed inside.

"So what's another method master?"

Sage Laura looked at her impatient disciple with a smile and he didn't know why, but it sent a shiver down his spine.

"The other option and the only one left, this is a tricky one. You need to go to Mount Rasborg, it's a large volcano teetering between an inactive or an active one. You can reach that place after a treacherous journey through Neverwinter. Now, here's what you need to do…"

Sage Laura explained the idea she had while Shadow listened carefully and remembered every word by heart.

"I thought it wouldn't work since they never once appeared even after I had carried that egg on my back for days, but I guess they were just busy with the Monster Horde and didn't have time for me, though before I knew it, the egg was already missing and I was tied upside down. It wasn't a very pleasant experience at all!"

The trick Sage Laura proposed was for Shadow to actually carry the egg out in the open since the Mutated Drake Egg actually emits the same energy as a Dragon Egg and the Dragons would certainly notice it the moment he enters their territory and would certainly seek him out since they are very protective of their species due to their low numbers.

She even went as far as placing a spell on the Egg that restricted the usage of the Pet Space or any related Spatial type of magic.

Though Shadow didn't expect that it would actually take days for them to look for him!

All because of the sudden variable, the Monster Horde!

"Now, I can finally head back and start grinding for real" Shadow slowly stood up and started stretching his body.

"Right, I should let Solitary Tempest and the others know that I'm already out of Mount Rasborg" Shadow said to himself as he quickly contacted his partner.
