Chapter 530: He's Still Hanging

Chapter 530: He's Still Hanging

When the Colonel saw the contents of the letter, he couldn't help but close his eyes as the hand holding the letter lightly shook.

"How is it?"

Watching the Colonel who suddenly grew silent with untold emotions, the old general finally couldn't reign in his curiosity and asked.

With his eyes closed, the corner of his lips slowly curved upwards and his eyes slowly opened as he looked towards the old general and said, "It seems everyone…is on board, General"

"What?! Impossible! Give me that!"

The old general abruptly stood up and hurriedly walked over and snatched the letter from the Colonel and read it.

"Ha..ha…hahaha!"

Reading the coded names listed on the leader, the old general let out a hollow laugh which slowly turned into a craze laughter later at the end.

"So it was this old man holding them back huh?" the old general softly muttered while looking at the letter in his hand.

"They respect you, General, that's why" the colonel replied.

On the other hand, the soldier who delivered the letter was feeling awkward and slowly scuttled to the corner and just quietly listened and waited for new orders.

"Sigh~"

The old general let out a sigh and slowly walked back to his desk and sat in silence, and it lasted for almost a minute as he tried to rearrange his thoughts.

"I didn't expect everyone would actually agree. Inform our people, tell them that Operation Dawn is commencing!" the old general ordered while looking at the soldier from earlier.

His expression has turned resolute at the face of an imminent chaos that would soon engulf the entire nation!

"Yes sir!" the soldier replied and took out a pager from inside his uniform and started distributing the order to all of his contacts!

[Operation Dawn is commencing…get ready!]

Commissioned and Non-commissioned Officers, soldiers stationed in different bases around the country and busy in their tasks simultaneously received the message, the message that would result in either hope for the future or destruction to their Motherland!

"So it truly begins" softly muttered a Series Commander overseeing the training of the recruits and with that, he turned around and slowly went back to his officer, his steps firm and resolute.

"Seems like everyone finally couldn't hold it in" a colonel in the Border Guard and assigned in a sector along the border chuckled.

Everyone just had one thought during this time.

'Vengeance!'

Present Time.

"Nothing much has changed huh? This nation is really lagging behind. I just hope that after this, those people would still remember what they were fighting for"

After walking around through three neighborhoods, Genesis was disappointed to see that nothing much had changed since the last time he was here.

People are still poor, infrastructure still hasn't improved, the potholes on the road years ago are still there, even the schools who were supposed to be the backbone for the future of this nation didn't have much change except probably the new paint on the school buildings, but even with that, it still looked almost dilapidated.

Looking at the people in the streets peacefully and calmly moving about in their day to day lives, Genesis thought, 'Seems like Benny's claws ran quite deep, the atmosphere here makes it looks like that there's no ongoing civil unrest in this country'

Such a deep contrast compared to the noises coming from the direction of the city center just a couple of miles away from the suburbs where they are at.

"A few more days and we're going back since we still need to finish that Quest that the Flame Rose Guild has proposed to us" Genesis softly muttered, flicked his half finished cigarette to the ground, trampled on it and started making his way back.

Meanwhile,

"Hey!!! Let me go, dammit! It's been days since I've been tied up! It's already a miracle that I'm still alive! At least tell me what you want! Hey!

Arrrgh! This b*tch!"

Annoyed, frustrated, Shadow, who had been tied up for days in the game had been on a roller coaster of mixed emotions!

And right now, he could only let out crazed laughter which sounded eerily similar to that famous comic villain that looks like a clown and loves to play around with that creepy billionaire vigilante.

[Warning! The use of Skills and Inventory are currently unavailable!]

'This stupid game! I would have been able to escape long ago if only the use of Items or skills weren't restricted!' Shadow screamed inside while watching the throng of warning messages popping up in front of him as he stubbornly tried to use his Skills or open his Inventory.

In all of the years he has lived, Shadow swore that his current circumstance is probably one of the most frustrating events in his life!

"Oh come on!"

From a considerable distance, the familiar green haired beautiful woman from before is just calmly watching Shadow trying to break free while screaming at her, which just amuses her.

Rustle! Rustle!

Suddenly, the sound of rustling leaves along with the sound of footsteps coming from the thick vegetation behind her was heard.

"My liege, it's already the sixth day. Are you still not gonna release him?"

The creature that walked out of the treeline was a very familiar and famous monster, a Centaur.

With a lower half that of a horse and a hairy upper half that of a human except for the ears, the centaur trotted over just an arms length away from the woman.

The newcomer stood at a height of 7 feet tall with a pair of long swords strapped on both of his sides and for a centaur, he was actually quite handsome in human standards.

"..."

"My liege, are you listening? That man is a disciple of Sage Laura, if she catches wind that you kidnapped her disciple, the alliance that was just recently renewed among the races would immediately crumble" the centaur voiced his worries towards the woman who, in the end, just completely ignored him.

"My liege.."

He was about to say something again when his liege raised her right hand like she was about to take an oath, but in this case, she just wanted for the centaur to shut up!

"Hey, Mr. Centaur! You're back! Can you once again ask that master of yours what she really plans to do to me?!" Shadow yelled, but the centaur just ignored him as his attention was placed on the woman.

"These Adventurers, they are really a fine specimen. No wonder that old hag finally accepted another disciple after a century" the woman finally opened her mouth and it sounded melodious and full of charm.

"Indeed, since they don't really die and would just come back to life like nothing happened after a few days. This Shadow, if he was a normal human then he would have died by now after getting hanged upside down for days" the centaur replied.

"But…are you still not gonna let him go?" the centaur quickly added, and the woman only let out a sigh with a smirk and a raised eyebrow altogether.

"If the news that you kidnapped him really reaches her ears…you know how unreasonable she is" the centaur said, almost pleading. He's really worried, he still hasn't forgotten that fight that his liege and Sage Laura had in the past, had once chipped off a large part of the continent.

Where those remaining bits and pieces of lands that managed to survive that battle had now produced tens of island nations.

"I guess leisure time is over, but first interrogate him, ask him what was his purpose of coming here then throw him out after that"

"Yes, my liege!"
