Mother Bai glared at her coldly, “Go to the hospital and check if you’re really pregnant.”

Mother Bai startled, turned to look.

She saw Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyebrows furrowing, a hint of worry in her voice.

It seemed something had happened.

She stood there listening for a minute, not entirely clear on the issue, but one point was clear enough.

Bai Xiaoxiao finished her call and walked over to Mother Bai.

Bai Xiaoxiao followed Mother Bai upstairs to her parents’ bedroom.

Mr. Bai wasn’t in the bedroom but in the study.

Bai Xiaoxiao asked her mom to go to bed first, then she went to the study to find her dad.

“Xiaoxiao, done talking with your mom?”

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao push the door open and enter, Mr. Bai smiled and waved at her.

Bai Xiaoxiao came to the desk, and Mr. Bai finally noticed something was off, assuming she had another contention with her mom.

“Did your mom scold you?”

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded and shook her head, “Dad, my mother did scold me, but I’m here for another reason.”

“Just now, I received a call from Jian Yiwei saying something happened in D Country, and I need to go over there tomorrow.”

“What happened?”

Upon hearing that something happened to the company, Mr. Bai’s expression immediately turned serious.

Bai Xiaoxiao recounted to Mr. Bai what Jian Yiwei just said on the phone.

After hearing her out, Mr. Bai’s brows knit tightly, “How could such a thing happen? Even if you go yourself, it’s still difficult to manage.”

“Dad, it’s okay. They only want to extort some money. Conversely, as long as we find the evidence, we can take them to court.”

“Why can’t you be obedient even once?”

Though Mother Bai was angry her daughter got pregnant with Luo Haofeng’s child, her concern for her daughter remains.

She’s in early pregnancy now and can’t just run around recklessly.

“Mom, I know you’re worried about me, but my dad really isn’t familiar with the situation over there. I have some connections that make handling things easier. The quicker I resolve it, the better for us.”

Mother Bai is ultimately aware that matters abroad are generally handled by Xiaoxiao.
