After Mother Bai left, Bai Xiaoxiao lay on the bed and dialed Luo Haofeng’s number.

The phone rang twice before Luo Haofeng’s voice came through, carrying a hint of gentleness in the night air.

“Hey, Xiaoxiao.”

“Are you home yet?”

Bai Xiaoxiao picked up the pillow beside her and stuffed it behind her back, grabbing a stuffed toy to hug, she asked softly.

In her ear, Luo Haofeng’s laughter came through, “I got home a while ago, I’ve been waiting for your call. So, did Auntie really forgive you?”

At the mention of her mom, Bai Xiaoxiao sighed softly.

Over the phone, Luo Haofeng asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Did Auntie still not forgive you?”

“I think I did something silly.”
