Chapter 2302: Chapter 106: Do You Really Want to Kneel on the Keyboard?
Qin Qingqing found out after all.
When Qin Mu returned home, she and Mo Ziye were waiting in the living room.
Hearing his footsteps come in, Qin Qingqing immediately stood up from the sofa, and Mo Ziye beside her gently called out, “Qingqing.”
He also stood up to greet him.
At the entrance, Qin Mu’s eyes flickered briefly.
Looking at Qingqing approaching quickly, a kind smile appeared on his brow, “Qingqing, why did you come back so late?”
“Dad, you know it’s late too?”
Qin Qingqing pouted, her delicate and fair face showing distress, “Couldn’t you visit mom during the day? It’s the middle of the night, it’s so cold, and you’re still injured. What if you catch a cold?”
“My health isn’t that fragile.”
Qin Mu shook his head with a smile.
But Qin Qingqing didn’t see it that way, “Anyway, you’re not allowed to go to the cemetery in the middle of the night anymore. If you really miss mom a lot, take me with you instead.”
“Dad, I agree with what Qingqing said.”
Standing a few steps away, Mo Ziye’s refined silhouette stood there, looking elegant and gentle, with a noble demeanor.
As soon as he spoke, Qingqing lifted her chin a bit, “Dad, you must promise me.”
“Fine, I promise you, I’ll visit your mother during the daytime from now on.” Qin Mu agreed reluctantly.
He looked at Mo Ziye, “Ziye, it’s very late now, you and Qingqing should go back to rest.”
“Alright.”
Mo Ziye nodded with a smile, walked over, and pulled Qingqing into his arms, “Dad, you should rest early too. We’ll come by in the morning for breakfast.”
“No need to come over for breakfast. Just give me a call when you’re heading out, or honk the horn at the gate.”
“Okay, we’ll come by to pick you up in the morning then.”
Mo Ziye and Qin Qingqing walked hand in hand out of the villa, strolling home.
Meanwhile, in the master bedroom on the second floor of the Mo Family Villa.
Mo Xiuchen confessed in detail to Wen Ran about how he got injured.
With an earnest and serious expression, he promised, “Ranran, I promise I won’t hide anything from you again. Please don’t be mad at me, okay?”
“Hmph.”
Wen Ran glared at him in displeasure.
Mo Xiuchen smiled apologetically, “Ranran, you go to sleep first. I’ll go to the study and kneel on the keyboard for two hours before coming out.”
After saying that, he really turned around to leave.
“Mo Xiuchen.”
Behind him, Wen Ran called out in a tone both amused and exasperated.
Mo Xiuchen turned his head, looking at her with a smile, “Ranran, anything else you want to say?”
“Do you really want to kneel on the keyboard?”
“Not really.”
“Then what’s with the act? Come here.”
“Ranran, are you not angry anymore?”
Mo Xiuchen returned to Wen Ran’s side.
Wen Ran looked at his smiling eyes and sighed lightly.
Her gaze fell on his injured arm, and she pursed her lips, reaching to roll up the sleeve of his pajamas.
This time, Mo Xiuchen didn’t dare to move.
Instead, he reassured her, “Ranran, the wound is really almost healed.”
The pajama sleeve was easy to roll up, revealing his wound under the soft, warm crystal light, falling into Wen Ran’s sight.
A layer of concern clouded her gentle eyes as her fingers lightly touched the edge of the wound, “Such a long wound, and you call it a minor injury.”
“Ranran, it doesn’t hurt.”
“What about Ah Mu’s injury?”
While feeling sorry for Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran thought about Qin Mu also being injured, and her brow furrowed tightly again.
“Ah Mu’s injury is not as deep as mine, Ranran. Both Ah Mu and I were injured, but we avenged An Lin. It was worth it. All these years, we’ve neglected training, which is why even when Ah Mu and I teamed up, we couldn’t defeat a sniper.”
“There are always people better than you, especially those who do this for a living. It’s normal that you couldn’t beat him. Fortunately, you only got minor injuries.”
Wen Ran released Mo Xiuchen’s arm and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Burying her face in his chest, she spoke softly, “Xiuchen, I’m not angry because you got hurt; I’m upset that you hid it from me. We’re not young anymore; don’t treat me like a child and keep things from me.”
“Alright, I’ll definitely change that bad habit.”
Mo Xiuchen admitted his mistake quite readily.
“Did you manage to wash properly with just one hand?”
“No, Ranran, could you help me wash again?”
“No.”
Wen Ran let go of him and stood up, “I’ll help you wash properly tomorrow.”
“Hmm, okay.” Mo Xiuchen agreed with a smile, “I haven’t held you while sleeping for so many days. I miss you a lot. Let’s go to sleep now.”
As he finished speaking, his phone rang.
Wen Ran chuckled softly, “Answer the call first.”
“It’s Ah Jin.”
“My brother is calling so late; he must have something to say.”
Mo Xiuchen smiled and answered the call, then lifted the blanket, gesturing for Wen Ran to get into bed.
Wen Ran sat on the bed, and he followed suit, listening as Wen Jin’s voice came through, “Xiuchen, are you asleep?”
“About to sleep. Are you home?”
“Yes, Ah Mu has also returned… Xiuchen, Ah Mu asked me a question tonight. Has he ever mentioned anything about clairvoyance to you?”
“Clairvoyance?”
A trace of contemplation flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, and his voice was slightly hesitant as he spoke. Without Wen Jin saying more, he had already guessed Qin Mu’s intentions.
“Does Ah Mu want to find a medium?”
“Ah Mu said he wants to give it a try.”
“Since Ah Mu has thought of this, let’s try it. For years, he hasn’t been able to let go of An Lin. If there’s truly a way for him to see An Lin once again, it would be good.”
Mo Xiuchen spoke while pondering.
“I’ve only seen mediums help the living meet the dead in TV shows and novels,” said Wen Jin skeptically over the phone.
Mo Xiuchen grasped Wen Ran’s hand, holding it in his palm, and said softly, “I’ve heard about it from people before. Regardless of its authenticity, since Ah Mu has this idea, let’s give it a try. Otherwise, he’ll keep thinking about it.”
“Alright, we’ll try to find someone like that. Later, tell Ah Kai and Ah Feng to help. More hands, more power.”
“Yes, I’ll tell them.”
After finishing the call with Wen Jin, Mo Xiuchen saw Wen Ran slightly frowning. He smiled and smoothed her forehead with his hand, “Ranran, are you worried about Ah Mu?”
Wen Ran shook her head, “Maybe I’m overthinking. Even if Ah Mu can’t let go of An Lin, it doesn’t mean he’ll do something foolish.”
“Without those four elders, he might have done something foolish, but now, he won’t,” Mo Xiuchen affirmed confidently.
“Xiuchen, actually, what my brother mentioned to you about mediums, I’ve been meaning to discuss with you. But firstly, it seems unrealistic, and secondly, I feared disappointing Ah Mu.”
“Ranran, do you happen to know any mediums?”
Mo Xiuchen smiled as he looked at Wen Ran.
“I can try reaching out,” Wen Ran said uncertainly.
Mo Xiuchen set down his phone and pulled her to lie down on the bed, “Before contacting someone, don’t mention it to Ah Mu.”
Wen Ran nodded with a smile, “I know. Even after contacting someone, we should verify their authenticity before telling Ah Mu.”
