Chapter 1494: Second Floor Rewards (1)
Nosphaleen blinked as she realized Sylas was staring at her. She looked down at herself but only smiled and looked back up.
"Let's go," Sylas said, reaching out a hand toward her.
Nosphaleen obliged, and the two set off again, runes flashing across her body until she was coated in an armor of silvery rainbow scales.
This only lasted a moment, though, before her body became a ray of flashing lights. Pillars of sky blue, bright pink, and delicate lavenders were painted across the skies until it swirled into the form of a large, snaking creature in the skies.
Sylas took a step and landed on Nosphaleen's head.
In a flash, she activated [Wings of Rhyme] and crossed the distance to the barrier of the world in a single flap of her wings.
...
Sylas began to collect one treasure after another, cutting through the worlds with a great amount of speed. It was even easier with Nosphaleen now-not because he needed her strength, but because of her speed.
Plus, as they worked together like this, Sylas was able to pass along his comprehensions of her Gene Beast Forms, allowing her to grow to the point she was already at Bronze Mastery by the time they cleared two territories, and entered Silver Mastery by the time they finished four.
In what felt like the blink of an eye, they cleared seven territories, and she reached Gold Mastery in them all, her power blooming more and more with every step.
By the time they were entering the eighth territory, her stats almost felt empty... but for a completely different reason.
While Sylas had felt empty because his stats were far greater than the strength he could muster, for Nosphaleen it was the exact opposite.
Sylas felt that the current her could run circles around an E-tier with stats around double her own with ease and that was before she reached Legendary Mastery herself.
In fact... Sylas was fairly certain that with enough time, he could even help Nosphaleen progress to Progenitor Mastery, a stage even most Sacred Beasts might not reach.
After all... Sylas' scope of understanding of her abilities wasn't limited to what would normally be considered their peak, but he could see how they could synergize, coming together to form stronger techniques or methods that could catch opponents off guard.
Every time Sylas directed Nosphaleen to attack, she consumed and comprehended these insights swiftly. Nosphaleen had always been intelligent, and now that she had awakened to her Mesmeryx Lineage completely, her bloodline was beginning to supplement her own intelligence as well.
When these two came together with Sylas' guidance...
She improved at a shocking pace. If there were Mesmeryx still located somewhere in the universe, Nosphaleen would almost certainly be the number one F-tier Talent among them all.
'It's here.'
After clearing eleven territories, Sylas "finally" found the staircase down.
This time, he couldn't rely on his sense for Gogo's evolution to guide him, so he hadn't known exactly where the staircase was. But if he had felt like it, he knew that he could have certainly acted on his own to find it.
His Luck was great enough now that he could easily map out far more than just one territory at a time. It was just that it would be a waste of his Wisdom, so he didn't.
He was so much further ahead than everyone else, not to mention the fact he wanted the individual rewards from these territories as well.
How could he give up a chance to gather Legendary Genes?
Unfortunately, Sylas had only found three Legendary Genes among the eleven territories he had gone through.
Still, thanks to that, his Dexterity, Constitution, and Strength had all been raised to a completely different level.
The other eight rewards he received were quite good as well.
Two of them were new 100 Foundation Runes. Now, he had three. One was related to Sand and Time, another was related to Fire and Waves, and the last was tied to Lightning and Solids.
Of them all, the one that fascinated Sylas the most was definitely the last. Solidifying lightning and concentrating all of its explosive power into a form that could make it easier to wield... that was truly fascinating.
Lightning Aether was especially unwieldy. Sylas often had to use the glass aspects of his Glassvolt Aether to direct it properly. In fact, it was those principles that allowed him to defeat a certain City Lord so long ago.
However, even now, Lightning was very difficult for him to handle.
But now...
Sylas casually drew a finger across the skies, and a javelin landed in his palm, perfectly smooth from end to end. It radiated a steely green color, and one would never guess it was lightning at all-if not for the fact all the hairs on Sylas' arm were at attention right now.
As for the Fire and Wave Rune, Sylas was entirely uninterested. He chose to just casually study it in case it came in handy, but he would use it to give someone else a 100 Foundation Aether when the time came. Of course, he would do the same for the other two 100 Foundation Aethers he had on hand now.
The next three treasures were all Legendary Path Treasures. Unfortunately, these were three treasures Sylas couldn't use. There was an inner armor, a pair of boots, and a pair of wings.
Sylas planned to give all three to Cassarae. He couldn't personally use them, and he didn't care enough about Alex or Jala to give them to them.
The inner armor would protect her; the boots came with an odd domain that could both work with the inner armor to dispel attacks, but were also capable of storing strength to increase momentum, while the wings were a shocking quick escape and maneuvering method.
Of course, though Sylas was summarizing this simply in his mind, in practice, each one of these treasures was no less shocking than his Morphic Silver Bearings.
Even so, Sylas was more fond of the final three rewards.
