Chapter 1561: Threats (2)

Chapter 1561: Threats (2)

The words immediately caught Sylas' attention. His reaction didn't change much, but Kael had already grasped onto the exact point he wanted to get at.

"The first is the threat of chaos. This is the one you care the least about, but if you would like Earth to be capable of holding its own in the future, it is imperative that you take this more seriously."

Thorne nearly passed out. Wasn't this supposed to be a meeting of submission? Why was Kael suddenly lecturing Sylas as though he couldn't take both their heads off in an instant?

In a lot of ways, Sylas' lack of care for the state of Earth anywhere but Castle Main made sense.

He had just taken out a City Stele Trial alone that the whole of Earth collectively couldn't have possibly done anything about. It could be said that if Sylas was really hell-bent on genociding entire populations, there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. Even if he told them they were coming, the best they could do was hide and hope that his shocking visualization scope and range couldn't find them.

But even that was little more than a childish dream. Who could possibly hide from a Progenitor if he wanted to find you?

Telling Sylas to take the growth of Earth more seriously was akin to basically lambasting him about not sharing his resources and intelligence with everyone else, and that was about as good as signing your death warrant.

However, neither Kael nor Sylas seemed to react to this. Kael only continued to speak, and Sylas only continued to listen.

"The Terranova Government was wiped out by yourself. The Eurpeian Empire lost its head and has fractured into many groups. The Africor Empire lost their three Monarchs and each ruling party has fragmented, forming seventeen factions across the continent when I last checked. Legacy has been uprooted by you, and a path toward knowledge for many has been wiped out. It could be said that the only power left standing is the Celestial Republic.

"The rest of Earth is essentially small pockets of powers that believe they still represent the governments of old, but do not. The only reason world wars haven't broken out already is because many are still hyper-focused on accelerated growth during this period. But as soon as leveling and treasures are no longer coming as easily, they will turn on one another, and Earth will find itself powerless to face what's to come."

Kael let the words sit for a while before he continued when it was clear that Sylas had nothing to add.

"The second problem Earth faces is that of Demons. There is a particularly large presence of Demonic Aether in the Africor Continent that has been impossible to investigate for a long time. I'm sure you're familiar with the area, as it was once your territory."

Kael's words didn't seem to imply much, and yet implied everything all at once.

There had been a System-Wide Announcement when Sylas became the Warlord of said territory, but now it was teeming with Demon activity, and Sylas had suddenly become the most powerful person on Earth by a long shot.

The implication of the words was clear enough without Kael having to spell out every little detail.

But once again, Sylas didn't even react. It was hard to say if he was even listening to what Kael was saying in the first place. It almost felt as though the sky could be falling and he wouldn't react at all.

"The third problem Earth faces is more amorphous. It's hard to grasp, so I can only explain what I've observed. There are many third parties who have taken an interest in the people of Earth. Some of those parties are past Overlord Races, and some are people who have never been of Earth in the first place. These influences are an underwater, undetectable current that can burst into either a geyser or a whirlpool at any moment, and it's hard to say when this will give first.

"I've seen signs of broken organizations from the past; there are still some remnants and smaller footholds of Legacy. As far as I can tell, the Clypsians have a very large influence on the Celestial Republic, the one remaining government stronghold we have. There are more, smaller pockets of Demonic energy outside of Woodland Territory.

"There are some tribes of people who've broken off from what's left of modern society and are living quite similarly to the Dogons of old, and they seem to be evolving down a path away from humanity and closer to said Dogons. It's very likely that there are still some remnants of the Dogons hiding in these corners as well, even if the strongest of them have been wiped out.

"These factions are even more splintered, and what makes them such a danger is that the moment Earth completes its evolution, the faint connection these factions have to the outside world will solidify again, and they'll explode.

"Earth is a ticking time bomb that will cause us a great deal of issues unless we can fix it all before then.

"I did not have the strength, so I could only sit on this information. But I have gathered a great deal of intel across the continents and have a strong understanding of about seventy percent of the threats Earth faces. With your strength, I believe that these threats can be easily wiped out in the remaining two months that remain. Even though a large portion will still be there, Earth will be more stable.

"If we can get collaboration from some other organizations with the same mind and heart, it's possible to increase this number from seventy percent to about eighty-five percent, giving us an even better chance.

"I don't think it'll ever be truly one hundred percent, but it is better we do something than wait for this matter to blow up in our faces. I believe this is in the best interest of everyone."

Kael stopped talking, waiting for Sylas' reply.
