Chapter 2201: Whore

Chapter 2201: Whore

Three warriors blazed through the wall.

Three skeletons came out.

By the time they hit the ground, they were nothing but ash.

Sylas raised an eyebrow. Those Runes… were far more powerful than they should have been.

'That wasn't all me.' Sylas thought, his eyes narrowed.

The truth of the matter was that the world itself was involved. Those Runes weren't perfect. At best, they were probably drawn to around Essence Mastery.

Of course, this was ridiculous for Runes Sylas had never personally drawn before. However, for Sylas, this was little more than a test round. He was a Rune Creator, he had long stopped caring about anything drawn beneath Spark Mastery.

But the way the world reacted just now, it was like he had drawn it to Spark Mastery. Not only that, but it fueled the Runes a lot more than it would have too.

Sylas couldn't help but smile.

It seemed that his sister hadn't picked this world because there was some great secret. No, maybe there was one. But he had a feeling that this was the real reason.

She knew that he could take advantage of this world.

The World Spirit hated the Race that had taken it over, and because of that, should one have the skill, it would do its utmost to help.

What was all the more amusing was just how much Elara understood her elder brother.

The World Spirit could only help this much because Sylas had used Death Runes. This was because at this point, that was the only energy it had left.

Elara would have had to know that Sylas would be in such an experimental mood the moment he came to the Demi-God Plane. She had truly done a great job in laying out a path for them.

If the World Spirit was going to help this much despite Sylas not being its Progenitor…

He might as well be its Progenitor in name.

But this might also be another interesting opportunity.

'The way you think is truly interesting, Elara.'

Sylas clenched his fists, cyclones of death energy rotating around his wrists and spontaneously forming Runes in a cascade of unbridled violence.

He could hear the emotion of the World Spirit in ways that he had almost never heard Earth's before. It was howling with maddening fury. Realizing that it was on its last legs, it wanted nothing more than to wipe out those that had done this to it.

And Sylas didn't mind obliging.

Elara exhaled a breath, taking a bite out of a large leg of meat larger than even her body. There was a slight look of annoyance in her eyes. Usually, food could make her feel better.

This time, though, it wasn't.

"Is this what they do to you the moment you grow a pair of tits? If I was really an asshole, I'd tell my brother about this." She grumbled, looking down and to the side at a notification that had popped up.

The way that she thought was, indeed, different from her elder brother. For one, she was far more integrated with the system than Sylas had ever been.

Sylas was naturally wary of such things and liked to control every little aspect of everything as best he could. As such, even when he gained benefits from the system, he tended to not only think outside of the box, but also put a great deal of effort into trying to understand how to rely on it as little as possible.

But because of that, Sylas also missed out on a ton of super important things.

For example, back on Earth, cities could connect through hubs known as a Nexus. There were many points in time where Sylas used Cassarae's City Stele to check, buy, and exchange for things in them.

Nexuses weren't unique to Summoned Worlds. In fact, it could be argued that Nexuses were highly limited in Summoned Worlds compared to ones that had already passed these trials.

And they were a lot more flexible.

If Sylas had cared, he would have probably realized there was a huge hub that connected the entire universe. Well, at least an entire Heaven. There might have been some higher Nexus that interconnected Heavens as well, but this was the highest order one Elara had found.

These Nexuses could be integrated into your system and further used to keep tabs on things, trade for things, and exchange things.

Funny enough, Sylas had used this in part. But he only used it to send and read Cassarae's messages.

If he had tapped into the Skai Heaven's Nexus—or more accurately, paid the obscene price it cost to do so—then he would have realized just how much chatter there was about him.

In fact, if you tracked Nexus activity over the course of the last year or so, you could see mention of Sylas steadily tick upward until it was practically all anyone talked about… Especially after he just casually showed up, ended a war, and then left like nothing happened.

Watching people crash out about her brother on the Nexus was one of Elara's guilty pleasures. That, unfortunately, wasn't what she was doing right now, though. Instead, she was reading some very nasty things about herself.

Well, if Elara was fair, this was partially her fault.

She miiiiight have agreed to marry someone and then vanished before the wedding after taking just a small little betrothal gift. Nothing big… just about enough to buy the entire Skai Heaven Mortal Plane 10x over.

As far as she was concerned, that wasn't nearly enough to buy her love and loyalty. Did they know how much the Grimblade family bloodline was worth? Did this womb look like it was available for just anybody?

Well, she also might have made them make a mortal enemy of a pretty powerful clan just for her hand too… but that was beside the point.

What happened to chivalry and dying on a sword for your wife?

Elara scoffed. "And you wanted me to marry you?"
