Chapter 1330 - 22: The Dance of the Century

Chapter 1330: Chapter 22: The Dance of the Century

Gulp, gulp, gulp.

CC sat on a chair at the edge of the dance floor, holding a glass of red wine, gulping it down.

She had lost track of how many glasses she had...

Not because the wine was particularly good.

It was just that she felt, having paid such an expensive entrance fee, it would be a waste not to eat and drink her money’s worth!

She had already eaten a lot of snacks and fruits.

But when she calculated it, compared to the ticket price, it was like comparing clouds to mud, even if she ate until her stomach burst, she wouldn’t break even.

Instead, the high-end red wine here looked quite pricey, if she finished a whole bottle... she’d definitely get her money’s worth back.

I really don’t know what’s so great about this stuff...

CC felt her cheeks were getting a bit warm.

In any case.

It’s not as good as Coke.

She turned her head, looking at the corner of the hall where Lin Xian, wearing a King Kong headpiece, was chatting with Einstein.

The two seemed to be getting along well, gesturing as they talked, and Einstein was very interested in what King Kong was saying, listening intently like a primary school student, nodding from time to time.

"That’s so funny."

CC was amused by this comical scene, her dimpled smile revealed her cute little fangs; combined with the rosy flush of her cheeks under the colorful laser lights, she looked exceptionally charming.

At this time.

A handsome man dressed as a werewolf came over, slightly bowing to CC who was holding a glass of red wine, and politely greeted:

"Beautiful vampire lady, may I invite you for a dance?"

The music in the dance floor was loud and intense, filled with exhilarating hormones.

However...

CC immediately pressed her lips and shook her head:

"Sorry, I don’t want to dance."

CC had never attended a dance party before, so she naturally didn’t know the polite ways to refuse at such events, she just straightforwardly voiced her inner thoughts.

"Oh, okay."

The werewolf was also a gentleman, even though CC’s response was indeed a bit blunt, but he did not complain and stepped back to his companion.

His companion, a chubby mummy wrapped in bandages, was quite surprised:

"I can’t believe you got rejected, I’m really surprised, this must be the first time you’ve been turned down at a party, right?"

The werewolf nodded.

This was the most upscale dance party venue in Manhattan, his being here naturally meant his conditions were not bad, appearance-wise, he was a certified handsome man, not inferior to models and actors at all.

Being directly refused this time, he was indeed quite surprised:

"That vampire lady said she didn’t want to dance."

"Hahaha, how is that possible!"

The chubby mummy hugged the werewolf’s shoulder, laughing:

"This is a Halloween dance party! Would someone who didn’t want to dance come here? Those who don’t want to dance would have stayed at home watching TV and eating cake... would they really come here in such intricate makeup just to watch?"

"Then why?"

The werewolf tilted his head:

"Then why did she say she didn’t want to dance."

"Heh heh."

The chubby mummy chuckled:

"Isn’t the answer obvious? Let’s not bother her, let’s go find other dance partners. Clearly..."

"[She just doesn’t want to dance with you, to be precise, she doesn’t want to dance with anyone else. That vampire lady only wants to dance with one person, she’s waiting for him.]"

...

In the corner of the venue.

Einstein was dragged away by a kaleidoscope guy, submerged into the dance floor.

Lin Xian stared at the address on the piece of paper.

It looked like the location was Einstein’s private farm, in the Brooklyn Suburbs, even further west than the orphanage where CC grew up.

Perhaps, within it lied the secrets and truths that he was desperately wanting to know!

November 5th.

Lin Xian folded the piece of paper once more and put it into his coat pocket.

Einstein had just mentioned that he would be at this farm on November 5th, waiting for him all day long.

Today was the evening of October 31st.

Counting down, in five days, he would meet Einstein again for deeper communication.

Could this farm be the original meeting place for the Genius Club?

Lin Xian was somewhat expectant.

Straightening his clothes, patting off the chalk dust on him, adjusting the King Kong headpiece on his head, he looked towards the crazy and noisy dance floor.

Hundreds of monsters were grotesquely writhing there.

Even though Lin Xian had danced so many ballroom dances, he couldn’t make out what type of dance these monsters were dancing.

Today was his first time attending a Halloween dance party, it was indeed an eye-opener for him.

"Let’s go find CC first, she’s probably eaten her fill."

Squeezing through the crowd.

Returning to the buffet table area.

Lin Xian saw from afar that CC was sitting there alone, holding a glass of red wine, gulping it down.

?

A question mark popped up above Lin Xian’s head.

Hey, big sister.

That’s wine! Not Coke!

People sip red wine, but she was drinking it like it was water... even though the alcohol content of red wine isn’t that high, quantity surely leads to a change in quality.

CC was only a 19-year-old girl, how could she drink like this.

He quickly walked over, took the wine glass from CC’s hand, and placed it on the white tablecloth:

"I leave you alone for a moment and you drink so much, were you starved in a past life or something."

"No way."

CC giggled with her flushed cheeks, showing her little fangs and dimpled smile:

"I was just waiting here for you."

For a moment.

The alcohol’s blush and the swirling lights from the dance floor made this pale-faced, blood-stained vampire look quite charming.

"You really drank too much."

Lin Xian was a bit worried:

"Can you still dance?"

"Of course I can!"

CC stood up from her seat, spun around on the spot three times, and then steadily stood upright:
