Chapter 1394: 45 The Elder
Chapter 1394: Chapter 45 The Elder
“Hmm…”
Lin Xian thoughtfully considered Jask’s crazy plan:
“Launching 22 probe rockets in 22 directions… If it’s within the Solar System, it might be manageable, but on a scale of tens of light-years, it’s still too insignificant.”
“That’s not the case, Lin Xian.”
The Hafnium alloy trash can VV shook its head, poking Lin Xian’s knee with its paw:
“The purpose of these probes is just to observe whether the World-Ending White Light comes from outer space, not like in billiards where you have to collide with it.”
“Since you can see that beam of white light in the Dream World, it means it’s visible light. In theory, it should be visible in the universe.”
“Just like the stars we see when we look up at night. In fact, the light from many stars comes from hundreds, even thousands of years ago, and many have already collapsed and exploded, no longer existing, but we will only see their light extinguish hundreds of years later.”
“So, from another perspective, if we can observe stars hundreds of light-years away with the naked eye, the detection range of the probes can also extend to hundreds of light-years, just like space telescopes.”
“As long as these 22 probes can observe a white light heading toward Earth within their detection range, it would mean that Jask’s theory is correct.”
Jask smiled slightly.
He stepped forward and patted VV on the head:
“Lin Xian, your artificial intelligence is indeed very smart and likable. I think I’ve changed my previous thinking.”
Subsequently,
He looked up at Lin Xian:
“However, you’re not wrong either. What the universe beyond light-years is like, none of us knows, and nobody knows what might happen.”
“It’s very possible these 22 rockets and Space-Time Particles would end up being pointless.”
“But… when it comes to scientific verification experiments, what we fear the least is wasteful experiments. With each failure, we get a step closer to success.”
“Even if these 22 rocket probes end up with nothing, apart from some Space-Time Particles, there’s actually no significant loss. But if one of the probes really detects something, we could hit the jackpot! Perhaps all the mysteries would then have a direction for research, and breaking through wouldn’t be far off!”
Lin Xian nodded.
Indeed, that’s the case.
Ordinary Space-Time Particles truly have little use, and Jask’s repurposing them in such a way maximizes their value.
“It’s worth a try, it’s indeed a good idea. How’s your preparation going? When do you plan to launch these probes?”
“Pretty much ready.”
Jask smiled:
“For these years, I’ve been working on this, can’t let down the trust you all have in me.”
“I will have everything ready soon, and when the rockets launch, I’ll invite you all to watch!”
“I won’t disturb you in your clue-searching here, I’ll go back and busy myself with the probe launch, and meanwhile, I’ll take Einstein’s oven with me and quickly entangle that Space-Time Particle in it.”
“The whole area of Old Brooklyn is my domain, I’ve safeguarded Einstein’s underground refuge very well, currently only the three of us know about it. Feel free to investigate here, I’m off.”
Jask is always a busy person, coming and going in a hurry.
“Alright, VV, it’s your turn.”
After Jask left,
Lin Xian pointed to the network server buried under a thick layer of dust behind the high platform:
“This is the foundation of the Genius Club’s meeting system, including programs and security systems written by Kevin Walker. I think by investigating the data here, we should be able to uncover the true identity of Copernicus or Newton.”
“Don’t worry! Leave it to me!”
VV enthusiastically spun its clamp hands:
“Watch me unveil that old trickster! Never mind saying… even without this network server, I could still track down Newton!”
“I haven’t been idle these 500 years, every single sweeping robot and trash can robot in the world has a piece of me in it, they are my cells, and also my eyes…”
“Stop.”
Lin Xian hurriedly stopped VV from boasting, to prevent it from tempting fate:
“Quickly change your habit of bragging, haven’t you suffered enough losses? Don’t make big claims only to get outmatched later.”
“Chtonyaalu!”
VV let out a ghostly screech:
“Don’t underestimate the bond between us trash can and sweeping robots, you fool!”
“…”
Lin Xian was speechless, looking at this drama queen:
“A lame joke from 500 years ago, don’t you find it outdated now? I feel embarrassed for you.”
“Ah, you’re as dull as ever.”
VV couldn’t be bothered to engage with Lin Xian, activated the network server, and began the hacking:
“The decryption process might take some time, find a place to rest for a while, you haven’t slept since you woke up from hibernation.”
Lin Xian yawned:
“I am planning to enter a dream actually, mainly because… I want to confirm something in the dream.”
“What thing?” VV asked curiously.
“You.”
Lin Xian looked at the shiny back of the Hafnium alloy:
“It was understandable that when Einstein dissipated, it didn’t cause the world line to change or the Space-Time Clock’s reading to alter. But now, with your resurrection as such a powerful super artificial intelligence not causing Liu Feng’s Space-Time Clock reading to change, that’s what I find strange.”
“It’s nothing much.”
VV was indifferent:
“When you extracted me from the Third Dreamland to activate, didn’t the Dream World remain unchanged?”
