Chapter 1443: Chapter 9: Piling_2

“These are the four questions.”

Liu Feng dusts off the chalk from his hands and points to the first question:

“I thought about this question last night. Is it possible that your dreams are inherently connected to the Millennium Stakes?”

“Actually, this is an old question we’ve discussed for hundreds of years. Since that space-time particle first went through your ear and then hit CC, you two inexplicably ‘connected’ or ‘entangled’ together.”

“Thus, your ability to dream of the future world 600 years later is essentially rooted in your entangled connection with the Millennium Stakes. And now… no matter what the reason is, this connection between you two has broken, causing both your loss of dream ability and CC’s dreams to return to normal.”

Lin Xian nods:

“There’s that possibility.”

He thinks for a moment and adds:

“I proposed this hypothesis hundreds of years ago. After all, before the Millennium Stakes were initiated, I didn’t have the ability to dream of the future.”

“If all reasons boil down to that space-time particle that struck CC, the logic of the matter indeed becomes clear. ‘Entangled’… hmm, this description seems mystical but fitting.”

“CC and I are indeed entangled in many ways, like dreams, memory fragments, and the countless casual encounters which always happen in a closed loop.”

“Everything begins in 1952 and ends in 2624. This is the destiny of the Millennium Stakes, and essentially the entangled story between CC and me.”

“But the problem is, why did this ability suddenly fail? Did the failure start from 2504, or from 2600, or perhaps from the birth of CC in 2604?”

The aging Liu Feng coughs twice and spreads his hands:

“That’s unclear, it can’t be verified at all. Cough cough… let’s not dwell on the cause now. Anyway, this is the result. Let’s move on to the second question.”

As he speaks, Liu Feng points to the second question on the blackboard:

“Jask is bold and skilled, acting with rough but remarkably effective methods. His 22 space-time particle detection rockets shot into the deep space of the universe really managed to capture the World-Ending White Light.”

“One of the rockets aimed at the outskirts of the Milky Way Galaxy, in the direction of the Andromeda Galaxy, caught trace of the World-Ending White Light 20 years ago. Its trajectory was completely straight, unaffected by any gravitational forces, headed directly towards the position Earth would reach 20 years later.”

“The scope of that white light is much larger than you think, spanning a full 0.001 light years… Although this area is not vast in the universe, within our Solar System it is much further than the distance from Earth to the Keppler Belt.”

Lin Xian listens, calculating silently in his mind.

0.001 light years…

It doesn’t sound far, but when converted, it’s a full 10 billion kilometers.

“The distance from the Sun to Neptune is approximately 4.5 billion kilometers—it’s generally considered the radius of the nine planets of the Solar System.”

As he calculates, Lin Xian says:

“So, this looming white light, when it arrives at the Solar System in 2624, doesn’t just destroy Earth… it even evaporates the Sun and the nine planets of the Solar System together.”

At this point, Lin Xian thinks of Jask:

“No wonder it didn’t help when Jask fled to Mars; the range of the World-Ending White Light is too vast. Unless you can leave the Solar System, it’s all death, all evaporation.”

He closes his eyes.

Leaning back against the chair, he imagines the horrific scenes in the universe.

A straight white light from hundreds of light-years away;

No rise, no fluctuations, no bends, directly shooting into a void;

Still, Earth orbits the Sun and races through the universe under the pull of the Milky Way’s central black hole;

Looking superficial and without intersection, Earth and the white light coincidentally meet in the universe on the first second of 00:42 on August 29, 2624;

Everything is burned to nothingness.

The disdain of destruction with cold contempt, icy and arrogant.

“The enemy is too strong.”

Lin Xian slowly opens his eyes:

“Not only do they possess light-speed weapons, but they can also accurately predict Earth’s trajectory centuries in advance for precise assaults.”

“I can’t believe it; what kind of advanced civilization can achieve this? No wonder they can toy with human history and the future using just two space-time particles. They simply don’t care how we struggle.”

“Because… under such a vast and daunting power disparity, any struggle is meaningless; just like ants to humans, ants can never defeat humans.”

Liu Feng breathes out through his nose:

“The enemy is indeed powerful, unimaginably, incomprehensibly powerful.”

“Therefore, I propose to name our ultimate enemy, the mastermind behind all these events, the mysterious extraterrestrial cosmic civilization—”

“[Piling Civilization!]”

Liu Feng picks up the chalk, writes the four words heavily on the blackboard, and draws a circle around them.

“Alright.”

Lin Xian feels it doesn’t matter what it’s called:

“I have no objections, since it’s just a name.”

“Moreover, compared to the Piling Civilization, we are indeed too weak. We don’t know where they are, what they look like. Despite being utterly clueless… a light-speed weapon spanning 0.001 light years thrown casually by them is enough to obliterate Earth’s billion-year civilization history.”

“With that said, here’s the problem.”

Lin Xian raises his hand, pointing to the third question on the blackboard:

“Such a mighty and fierce super civilization, Piling Civilization… the Millennium Stakes they created can only be used for 600 years? Isn’t this quite illogical?”
