Chapter 342: A Mythic-Ranked Treasure
Chapter 342: A Mythic-Ranked Treasure
This was the part Gabriel was looking forward to throughout their exchange, but he still kept his excitement masked under his calm exterior.
In truth, he was very pleased. Not only had he gotten himself a powerful ally, but now he was about to receive a reward. By reaching Floor One Hundred, he had killed two birds with one stone.
Under his watchful eyes, the vampire queen waved her hand, and a small silver ring appeared in her grasp.
He narrowed his eyes. The silvery ring had runic engravings etched on it. He stared for a long time, trying to decrypt it, but it was to no avail.
In the end, he simply gave up.
The queen smirked.
"Thought you would keep on trying."
She flicked the ring toward him.
He caught it effortlessly, then looked at it closely, eyes narrowed in concentration.
It was easy to tell that this was his reward, but what it actually did was something he was still trying to figure out.
Normally, whenever you held a treasure, a screen with the treasure’s rank and description would willingly pop out.
A frown slowly crept across his face. He was beginning to think he had been scammed when a familiar notification rang in his head.
Ding.
[You have obtained Ring of the First Conqueror (Mythic Rank) LV.1]
"M-my-Mythic?"
The moment he saw this, the normally composed Gabriel, who was rarely shocked by anything, found his mouth wide open and his eyes widened in disbelief.
The queen’s smile deepened ever so slightly.
She liked this. She liked seeing the usually unshaken Gabriel rattled. It was entertaining to her in a way she had not expected.
’Mythic... it is the second strongest rank, just below Divine treasure.’ he thought inwardly.
In Realm of Ascendency, treasures were not merely items. They were symbols of status for adventurers. They were either dropped by bosses or crafted by blacksmiths and mechanics.
And Mythic?
Mythic was something players drooled over. Entire guilds went to war for the chance to get one.
A single Mythic treasure could push a guild into the top ranks overnight.
Most players would never even see one in their entire lives.
Even in his past life, Gabriel had only witnessed two Mythic treasures. Not obtained, witnessed.
Just seeing them was already considered a miracle.
And now?
He held one in his hand.
A ring so plain looking it almost felt like an insult.
He swallowed lightly. In Realm of Ascendency, the treasure ranking was as follows:
Iron
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Epic
Mythic
Divine
His best treasure before now was Gold Rank. Even that was already rare, expensive, and something many adventurers might never own in their entire lifetime.
The queen observed the storm raging behind his eyes with pure satisfaction.
’Good thing she cut off the surveillance.’ he thought. He could not even begin to imagine what would have happened if everyone had seen this treasure rank.
It would not only be guilds that came for him. Kingdoms and major organizations would wage war to obtain it.
Sucking in a deep breath, he viewed the rest of the description.
[Ring of the First Conqueror (Mythic Rank)]
[Description: A Pocket Mini Tower sealed inside a Mythic ring. When worn, you can summon a small Demonic Tower anywhere in the world. The tower starts with 20 floors but can grow stronger as the ring levels up.
LV1 Features:
• Respawn Monsters
• Difficulty Adjustment
• Tower levels up through usage.]
Looking at the description, it might appear simple at first glance... but his breath caught. His eyes moved over each line again, slower this time, as if his brain needed a moment to accept what he was seeing.
A portable tower.
A mini tower he could summon anywhere.
A Mythic treasure that essentially broke every rule he knew.
He exhaled shakily. A tower, especially one that could generate demonic monsters, reset floors, and adjust difficulty, was not some random item. It was infrastructure. A long term power source.
And now it belonged to him.
He clenched the ring lightly, as if afraid it might vanish.
’A tower... even a small one... this alone can change everything for the guild.’
He knew exactly how precious this was.
This tower system could become the backbone of Broken Dawn. It could be used for training, EXP farming, resource grinding, and even skill evolution. Just having access to it would cause his guild’s strength to skyrocket compared to everyone else.
He could make them train anytime. No travel. No competition with other guilds. No fighting for dungeon territories or wilderness regions.
Moreover, he controlled everything inside.
The difficulty.
The monster types.
The number of floors.
The respawn rate.
It was basically a private leveling machine.
He rubbed his forehead, unable to hide the faint smile tugging at his lips.
’Long term... this alone can carry Broken Dawn beyond top 10... maybe even top 2.’
This was not a treasure.
This was a foundation.
A growth engine.
A guaranteed path to making his guild undefeatable in the coming years.
Even Mythic weapons could not compare. A weapon boosted one person.
But a tower?
A tower built entire armies.
He let out a breath he did not realize he had been holding.
’I cannot believe she gave me this.’
The queen chuckled softly, her eyes half lidded as she watched him absorb the reality of his reward.
"Well, you earned it," she said. "Since I am bonding with you, it is only right that you are well equipped."
He did not answer right away. His mind was running in circles, simulating possibilities, future plans, and growth routes. His strategic side was already rewriting his entire guild progression path around this ring.
Finally, he raised his head and met her gaze.
"This... is far more than I expected."
Her smile sharpened with amusement. "A conqueror deserves the tools to conquer."
Her voice echoed faintly in the vast chamber, sending a slight chill through the air.
"Now that we are done," she breathed, stepping forward, "come show me the world. The air inside this tower is still stuffy."
---
The rest of the Broken Dawn members waited on the other side of the blood wall. Some leaned on pillars, others stood with arms crossed or weapons in hand.
Sophie stood closest to the shimmering barrier, her gaze fixed as if she could somehow see through to the other side. Anxiety was written all over her face.
Suddenly, the entire one hundredth floor rumbled. The blood wall began to sink back into the ground, revealing Gabriel’s broad back.
"Phew." Sophie exhaled in relief, and several others did the same.
He slowly turned, slipped the silver ring onto his finger, and began approaching the group, walking past her.
Sophie blinked, confused.
"Where is the queen?"
"She is somewhere safe," he replied without slowing his steps.
Then added, "Everyone prepare. We are exiting the tower."
---
Meanwhile, back at the Broken Dawn camp...
SniperBowLegend did not move or back down, even though he had seen firsthand what the human giant was capable of.
He stood firm, bow hanging loosely at his side, eyes calm, voice steady, even though his heartbeat hammered like a war drum.
"This is Lord Gabriel Reyes’ jurisdiction," he said quietly. "No one enters unless he approves."
Geoffrey slowly exhaled. "Very well. If it is a show of force you want... then it is a show of force you will receive."
SniperBowLegend did not need anyone to explain what that sentence meant. It was a declaration.
They were not here to negotiate.
They were here to recapture the camp.
Dante finally lifted his head fully, his bored eyes gaining a faint light for the first time since he arrived.
"So," he muttered, licking the last trace of smoke off his lips, "do you have more of that stuff?"
Nobody answered. Even if they wanted to, they could not.
He shook his head in disappointment when he did not get any reply.
"Tsk, I will just have to force you guys."
Those simple words sent a cold chill through every spine on the wall.
SniperBowLegend felt the fine hairs on his arms stand. His fingers tightened around the bowstring until it creaked.
"Hold positions," he shouted, forcing calm into his tone. "Nobody fires without my command."
On the wall, some players almost protested.
"You kidding me? We just..."
"Shut up and listen to the commander," Damien snapped, surprising even himself. "You want to piss that thing off more than this?"
Logan remained silent, adjusting his glasses with shaky hands. He did not trust his voice not to crack.
Down below, Geoffrey adjusted his tie slowly, his expression stuck between frustration and resignation.
"Master Dante," he said quietly, "those walls look peculiar. If it is possible, can you go easy on them... I need those walls to remain intact."
Dante tilted his head as if thinking deeply.
"Hmmm."
For a brief second, hope rose in everyone’s chest. Maybe he would listen. Maybe he would be lenient.
Maybe...
"I will try," Dante said, and then he moved.
SniperBowLegend’s eyes shrank. The human giant moved too fast for anyone to follow.
FWOOOSH.
A moment later he appeared at the base of the wooden walls.
He placed his palm flat on the wooden logs, fingers spread lazily as if touching a door.
He did not even pull his arm back for momentum.
He just pushed.
The sound that followed did not belong to wood.
It was more like a mountain groaning.
CRRRRRAAAAAACK.
The logs bulged inward.
Several snapped like twigs, shooting splinters into the air. The massive gate structure shuddered; several support beams split, raining dust and debris down.
The wall did not collapse completely, but a terrifying dent appeared right where his hand was, forming a deep bowl shaped crater in the wood.
Under the stunned gaze of everyone, he took a step forward into the Broken Dawn camp.
