Chapter 346: Hopeless Situation
Chapter 346: Hopeless Situation
From the gaps of their homes, the refugees of the Broken Dawn camp watched with horror on their faces.
Outside, the battle was still raging fiercely. Players were spawning and turning into data fragments at a rapid pace, while the blood of the natives slowly pooled across the ground.
The air was thick with the scent of metal. Battle cries and screams of pain echoed across the camp, accompanied by the sound of magical clashes and steel colliding.
’I can’t believe a single man is capable of this damage!’ a player complained as he conjured a spinning water ball and sent it toward Dante.
The attack slammed into Dante and evaporated instantly. It was so insignificant in the flurry of attacks that the human giant did not even feel anything.
Dante ignored the barrage and focused only on those he deemed powerful. His eyes scanned his surroundings, and they settled on armored vehicles with mana guns mounted on them.
After seeing that the Hellfire turret was ineffective against him, the gunslingers returned to their normal mana guns.
They had noticed how Dante reacted when they fired these guns. He summoned earth walls to block them whenever they hit, letting out a hiss of annoyance.
This was all they needed to go all out.
Even with all this, the losing party was still undoubtedly the Broken Dawn camp. The reason was simple. Most of the core members were not currently present.
The elites were gone. Heavy hitters like Ragharaor99 were not around, and neither were Sophie and her deadly Vines.
But most important, the lord of the camp itself.
The only person who seemed to hold Dante back was Sniperbowlegend thanks to his deadly precision. But even the experienced archer was beginning to grow tired, and his arrows were starting to go haywire.
Dante rolled his shoulders as mana bolts slammed into his body like annoying raindrops.
He did not even flinch.
He did not even blink.
In fact... he looked bored.
On the walls, watching the carnage unfold, a deep frown was etched on Damian’s face.
"From the few exchanges, without a doubt that giant is a tank," he pointed out. "But he is not just any type of tank... an offensive tank."
LegendaryLogan raised a brow, confused. All his years of gaming, this was the first time he had heard the term offensive tank.
"What does that mean?"
With a serious expression, Damian explained.
"Just like the name sounds, they are a versatile type of tank. They do not just defend... they hit back harder than most frontline warriors. They take damage, convert that irritation into strength, and then return it tenfold."
LegendaryLogan blinked. "So basically... he is like a combination of a warrior and a tank?"
"That is one way to put it," Damian muttered, narrowing his eyes.
In truth, even he was not sure what the human giant’s exact class was. In this world, you could not magically know a person’s class. You could only judge from their fighting style.
’In a way he is just like Gabriel.’
Gabriel was another person whose class he could never determine. He was a mixture of tank, mage, and warrior.
A very deadly combination.
"Fuck, if only he was here, things would not be looking this bleak."
They all turned their attention back to Dante, who was shrugging off another barrage of attacks as if brushing dust from his shoulders.
Dante’s eyes shifted slightly, but the entire battlefield froze for half a heartbeat.
He finally noticed the armored vehicles.
Two massive steel bodied mana carriers stationed at the western barricade. Both were equipped with mounted mana guns. The barrels hummed with a faint blue glow of compressed energy.
Dante’s lips curled.
"Now that is more like it."
The gunners opened fire instantly.
PWWWWAAAAAAM
PWWWWAAAAAAM
Two concentrated beams of mana shot across the battlefield, slicing through tents, walls, and unfortunate players who did not respawn quickly enough.
Dante reacted fast for someone his size. He slammed both palms against the ground.
BOOM
A thick earthen wall rose in front of him, tall enough to block the beams completely. The mana blasts exploded against the surface, shaking dust everywhere.
Dante hissed in visible annoyance.
"That thing again... irritating."
One of the gunners gulped and steadied his weapon. "He does not like this mana gun. Everyone, keep firing! Do not stop! Do not let him get close!"
But that was exactly the mistake.
Dante’s eyes sharpened with interest.
"Oh?" he murmured. "So you guys noticed."
His left foot stepped forward.
BOOM
The earth cracked beneath his weight. Dust shot upward. The shockwave knocked nearby players flat on their backs.
"Stop him! Stop him!!" someone screamed.
But Dante was already gone.
Before the gunners could even process what was happening, a monstrous shadow loomed over them.
One of the gunners gulped and slowly looked up.
Dante was standing directly in front of the first armored vehicle.
The soldiers froze mid breath.
Dante grinned down at the steel machine.
"You thought this thing would save you?"
His fingers dug into the front plating, the sound of metal groaning loudly.
The thick armor, reinforced with mana coated Stellarium plates, bent like warm butter.
The refugees watching through the cracks of their shacks held their breath as Dante ripped the entire front section of the vehicle apart with his bare hands.
RRRRRIIIIIPPPPPP
One of the gunners inside screamed, "Retreat! RETRE—"
Too late.
Dante grabbed the mounted mana gun, yanked it free with one hand, and tossed it behind him like trash.
The weapon skidded across the battlefield, crushing two players who spawned at the wrong moment.
"Trash," Dante muttered.
The entire front half of the armored vehicle collapsed, smoke spilling from the exposed engine core.
The refugees inside the camp screamed in horror.
"HE RIPPED IT LIKE PAPER!"
"That is impossible!"
"What kind of stats does he have!?"
Before their shock could settle, Dante was already turning toward the second armored vehicle.
The gunners panicked.
"FIRE EVERYTHING!!"
Mana beams shot out wildly.
Dante did not dodge.
He did not even raise a wall this time. He simply walked through the beams, his skin glowing faintly as if absorbing the mana.
He looked... irritated.
When he reached the second armored vehicle, he did not bother tearing it apart piece by piece.
He simply grabbed the entire machine by its side, one hand gripping the steel while his feet dug into the earth, and lifted.
Everyone watching felt their souls leave their bodies.
"He is lifting it..."
"That weighs like thirty tons!!"
"This guy... there is no way he is human..."
Dante shifted his stance, inhaled slightly, then—
WHOOM
He hurled the armored vehicle across the battlefield like a toy.
It spun through the air, smashing into a group of players with a colossal explosion.
BOOOOOOM
A mushroom cloud of dust and metal fragments shot upward as data fragments filled the sky.
Several players screamed and ran back toward the inner camp. Others fired spells in panic. NPC guards retreated behind broken walls, shaking in fear.
The refugees watching from their homes had gone completely pale.
"This is hopeless..."
"We cannot stop him..." "Where are the others!?"
Dante ignored their panic and shifted his gaze to the one person who had been a headache throughout this battle.
Sniperbowlegend gulped, saliva sliding noisily down his throat. His mana was nearly depleted, and he was terrible in close range combat.
’I guess I will have to suffer my first in game death,’ he thought bitterly. He had kept the streak for a long time. The game had rankings for players with the least deaths, and Sniperbowlegend had been topping it for a long while now.
However, this was the least of his concerns. His real worry was the state of the camp. Many had already lost their lives. If he died here as well, he was certain the others would surrender, and the eastern camp would take over.
Dante Ironheart took a step forward, ready to crush the archer, but before his foot could land, he sensed several powerful auras and killing intent behind him.
