Chapter 352: Aftermath and Impending War

Chapter 352: Aftermath and Impending War

There was silence for a moment. Everyone simply stood where they were, too stunned to react.

It felt like a dream to the onlookers that the powerful human giant who had wiped out several players and NPCs alike was lying there unconscious.

Eventually, the silence was broken by Geoffrey.

"Nooooooooo... it can’t be," he muttered aloud.

"It’s reality. Face it, your mighty master has fallen," Alice said, not missing an opportunity to tease the older man.

"How did he... how did he do it? A level 50 existence killing a Hero Rank, this is unbelievable," the butler began to speak uncontrollably, like a broken tape.

With a soft smile on her face, Anna, who had been quietly observing everything, finally spoke. "Master and logic do not fit in the same sentence."

Those who heard this thought about it briefly and could not help but agree.

In a way, it was a coping mechanism, because Geoffrey knew very well that now that Dante had fallen, he was next.

He could not even begin to imagine the cruel fate that awaited him.

"Long live Lord Gabriel!"

No one knew who started it, but people began to shout one after the other as they all came out from their hiding places.

"Long live Sir Broken!"

"Long live Sir Broken!"

"Long live Lord Gabriel!"

The players who had respawned after being killed did not need to know what happened. Merely seeing Gabriel standing and Dante lying unconscious made everything clear.

They joined the others without hesitation.

Gradually, it turned into a chant.

The normally composed Sniperbowlegend lifted a clenched fist and echoed along with the others.

"Long live Sir Broken!"

Why wouldn’t he be excited? Just moments ago, he would have lost his life if not for the timely intervention of Broken Heaven.

Gabriel felt the weight of the crowd, which included both children and adults, and something welled up within him. He struggled to maintain his signature stoic expression.

Overwhelmed, a small smile slowly appeared on his face. It was not the fake smile that never reached his eyes, the one he usually displayed. This one was genuine.

Seeing this, the chanting increased and could be heard from over a great distance.

While all this was going on, on a distant mountain not too far from the Broken Dawn camp, Ares Dunhold stood calmly alongside Jack and Aria.

The guild master had just watched everything play out right in front of him.

"Impressive. It is so unfortunate that his attitude is trash," Aria spoke, her expression unreadable.

"Understandable," Jack nodded with distaste. "He is just a troublemaker. Even with his strength, he will die a dog’s death later in the future."

"Furthermore, now that he has killed Dante, a brutal three way war is on its way," he added. "The eastern and northern camps will overwhelm him, and that will be his death."

"You are mistaken," Ares suddenly spoke.

"Mistaken?"

"You omitted the Voss sisters," Ares said, his gaze fixated on Scarlet’s back.

"The Adventurer Guild would definitely stand by them. Even that madman Voss was present, he would have joined as well. He would never say no to a war."

"So it is four ways."

"Could be more," Aria chimed in. "I have been doing a little research on Gabriel. What I discovered is that he has already made powerful enemies."

"One of them being the Tempest family, the Holy Church, and the Graves family. I am sure the Graves have already sent assassins after him. I trust them that much," she smirked.

"We could have been a shield. Maybe negotiate with the others to let him go if he did not offend Master. However, because he disrespected you in front of the entire kingdom, Olympus will no longer see eye to eye with Broken Dawn."

Jack placed emphasis on the words disrespected and entire kingdom. It was a clever attempt to stir his master’s emotions into hating Gabriel even further.

Naturally, Ares saw through him, but it was unnecessary. Broken Dawn had already entered his blacklist, and he would make sure they had a difficult time.

Until Gabriel submitted and apologized on his knees in front of the entire world, he would not let this go so easily.

They did not spend too much time on the mountain and vanished one after the other.

Below, Scarlet turned her back and looked in that direction for a moment before shifting her attention back to the front.

Gabriel raised his hand, and the chanting came to a halt. He then turned his attention to Sophie, a wry expression on his face.

"Sophie, how can we clean this up?" he asked, pointing at the craters that had appeared as a result of their fight.

Sophie bit her lips together, feeling conflicted.

Eventually, she sighed. "I will handle it along with the buildings. Next time, lure the enemy outside," she said, sounding slightly irritated.

"Sure, I will do that," Gabriel replied with a smile.

That smile seemed to melt all her composure, and her cheeks flushed red. She quickly adjusted her veil, afraid that someone might notice her reaction.

"Anna."

At Gabriel’s call, Anna appeared swiftly beside him.

"Take him away."

Anna, who knew about her master’s talent, gave a knowing smile. She did not ask any questions and immediately carried out the order.

Lilly, alongside the other healers who had gone into hiding, rushed forward even without being told what to do.

Afterward, Sniperbowlegend and Amelia approached Gabriel. The two gave a detailed breakdown of everything that had happened leading up to the fight.

"You did a good job," Gabriel praised.

Though he felt a sting in his heart as he learned of the NPC deaths, he was not too affected by the players since they could recover their levels.

However, the same could not be said for the natives of this world.

There was one more piece of information Gabriel learned. Dante had not attacked any civilians and had only focused on fighters.

At this, he did not know how to feel, but he definitely did not regret killing him. If he had not acted, he would have been the one lying unconscious.

While everyone ensured everything was in order, Gabriel calmly approached the butler, Geoffrey.

Geoffrey gulped loudly. A wet patch appeared on his pants, and his body trembled visibly.

Gabriel stopped in front of him, his shadow falling over Geoffrey completely, and for the first time that day, the butler realized that Dante’s fall had not been the end—but the beginning.
