Chapter 419: Henry Finally Joins the Battle

Chapter 419: Henry Finally Joins the Battle

"Still not interfering?" asked Dominic’s personal henchman. The two were still atop the building, watching the one sided slaughter called a battlefield.

Dominic did not reply immediately, his gaze still focused on the battlefield.

His henchman frowned slightly, shifting his focus back to the scene below as he spoke. "Right now, there are still a few soldiers left, but with the way things are proceeding, all our forces will be wiped away if Henry does not make a move."

Still silence. There was no reply. The henchman’s lips pressed into a thin line. His master wanted to take over the camp, but a camp was nothing without its people. Was he really just going to stand there and watch while more people died?

"This is the only chance we have," Dominic finally spoke. "To be frank, I do not like seeing them die either, but sometimes little sacrifices have to be made."

Little sacrifices?

The henchman facepalmed internally. These deaths were in no way little, yet his master somehow believed they were. That thought sent a chill down his spine. If his master considered these deaths small sacrifices, then what exactly did he consider a big one?

The next words snapped him out of his spiraling thoughts.

"Besides, that weakling will soon make a move. I can feel it." Dominic smiled faintly. "Even though he is a coward, just like every man, there is that innate ego and false belief."

He paused, then added, "Unfortunately for him, the outcome is already predetermined."

Dominic was right.

As if responding to those words, Henry had finally reached his limit. His expression twisted with rage, so intense that his aura billowed outward uncontrollably, forcing IceQueen to step back.

Henry’s eyes were bloodshot. With every passing second, he watched more of his men fall despite their initial numerical advantage.

And now, as everything continued to spiral out of control, he finally realized something.

He realized his mistake.

Throughout his reign as lord of the eastern camp, he had focused only on gathering refugees without caring about their skills. All he wanted was to increase his personal influence and strength.

The enemy, on the other hand, had recruited selectively. Not only was their force made up mostly of those annoying otherworlders who did not truly die, but they were also well trained and coordinated.

At that moment, he could not help but think back to a phrase his brother used to say.

"Greater numbers do not win wars. Skill and conviction do."

On this battlefield, it was painfully clear that his side lacked both. Their morale had already shattered.

In fact, the entire battlefront had become a roller coaster of fear, panic, and despair.

"I have to step in myself. Maybe it will boost their morale," he muttered in a low tone, one that still somehow reached IceQueen and the nearby officials.

IceQueen’s gaze shifted between Henry and the battlefield. She clenched her jaw, clearly wanting to say something, but held back.

After several failed attempts, she finally spoke. "I have a question. Why is Dominic not joining the fight yet?"

It was something that had been troubling her for a while. She had kept dismissing it, but she could no longer ignore it.

Henry gritted his teeth. With everything happening so fast, he had completely forgotten about Dominic.

"Perhaps it is precisely for the same reason as you, Lord Henry," one of the officers spoke up. "He believes the troops can deal with these bandits, which is why he remains in his mansion."

"Hmph." Henry snorted as he stepped forward. "I do not need his help to defeat these bandits. I will do it on my own and show him that with or without him, the eastern camp will continue to prosper."

IceQueen clearly wanted to protest. To be honest, she did not think Henry was strong enough to defeat Broken Heaven.

At least, not anymore.

At first, she might have believed so, but after watching Gabriel defeat two hero ranks so easily without even exerting himself, her view had changed. She believed Henry would have better chances if he teamed up with Dominic.

Ego. Pride.

She shook her head slightly, irritation flickering across her face as she remembered that she had once been the same.

Henry stopped at the edge of the building and snapped his fingers.

An intricate silver chest plate appeared over his torso.

It locked into place with a dull metallic thud. Heavy and imposing, it was forged for endurance and defense, and it was by far the most impressive armor IceQueen had seen in the entire game.

The surface was matte silver, reinforced with dull gold veins that ran across it like rising lines. Next came the pauldrons, broad and angular, fully covering his shoulders.

Thick forearm guards snapped into place with muted clacks, locking over his arms as if they had always belonged there. One after another, the remaining pieces followed until Henry stood fully armored, resembling a knight from a medieval age rather than someone from a post apocalyptic world.

Last but not least, a long spear appeared in his grasp, its tip gleaming faintly.

"All gold rank... is his entire armor gold ranked?" IceQueen gasped, feeling the aura radiating from the armor that hugged Henry’s frame.

Even from a distance, she could sense it. Every single piece of armor Henry wore was gold rank.

To acquire something like this, one would either need to defeat an extremely powerful monster or spend an astronomical sum to have it crafted.

Henry exhaled slowly as his aura rolled outward in a visible wave, causing several nearby officers to stiffen instinctively.

IceQueen narrowed her eyes, a mix of awe and greed surfacing as she stared at the armored figure.

Without another word, Henry stepped off the edge and plunged downward, spear in hand.

Bang!

The ground cracked as he landed, dust and shattered concrete exploding outward in a rough circle. Nearby fighters, enemy and ally alike, were forced to stagger back.

The sudden impact drew Gabriel’s attention, a smile spreading across his face.

"Guess he finally decided to step in."
