Chapter 478: Seraphina’s Replica
Chapter 478: Seraphina’s Replica
Inside the final floor, Gabriel stood with his arms folded as he looked at the figure waiting at the center.
It was Seraphina.
Or rather, a replica of her.
When he first met the real Seraphina back in the tower, things had not turned into a proper fight. Because of that, even now, he still did not know exactly how strong the original Seraphina really was when she was serious.
But this one was different.
This was only a copy created by the mini tower.
And Gabriel could already tell it was weaker.
The pressure was there, but not enough. The presence looked similar, the blood aura was similar, even the face and posture were the same, yet the quality behind it was lacking. It was enough to trouble strong fighters in New Dawn, but not enough to truly stand beside someone like him or the core members of the Broken Dawn.
That made it useful.
If this fake Seraphina was weaker, then it was the perfect chance to let his summons fight her and see how they handled an opponent who relied heavily on blood skills.
Gabriel raised a hand slightly as he commanded, "Grizzlenaught. Healing Slime. Come forth."
The ground near him rippled at once.
A massive red spectral bear rose from below as if phasing through the floor itself. Its large body emerged fully in only a moment, electric blue eyes glowing as it turned its head toward Gabriel. Beside it, a round blue slime popped out of the ground with a soft bounce, its body wobbling excitedly as it landed.
Grizzlenaught let out a low growl, as if asking why it had been called.
The Healing Slime bounced twice in place, almost cheerful.
Gabriel glanced at the slime briefly. It had been a while since he last used it outside. Not because he forgot about it, but because he simply had not needed it. The little creature’s greatest value was its healing bubbles. It could spit out condensed healing spheres that restored injuries and kept him going during dangerous fights. But lately, Gabriel had not been pushed into any truly desperate condition.
So the slime had stayed idle.
Now, however, it had a use again.
Gabriel looked toward the replica at the center of the room.
"Fight."
That was all the order they needed.
The fake Seraphina moved first.
Blood shot out from around her body in several sharp strands, slicing forward with speed. Grizzlenaught immediately roared and lunged ahead instead of retreating. One giant spectral claw smashed into the first blood strand, knocking it aside, while another cut through a second one. The impact sent red sparks flying through the air.
The replica’s eyes narrowed.
More blood gathered around her hands and turned into several long spikes that shot at the bear from different angles. Grizzlenaught twisted its body and took one across the shoulder, but before the wound could matter, the Healing Slime bounced closer and spat out a small glowing bubble.
The bubble landed on Grizzlenaught and burst.
The torn spectral flesh began restoring almost immediately.
The slime bounced once behind the bear again as if cheering it on.
Gabriel watched with a faintly amused look.
Grizzlenaught pushed forward with another growl, its massive paw slamming down hard enough to crack the floor. The fake Seraphina leaped back and formed a blood whip that lashed toward its face. The bear took the hit, then answered with a sweeping claw skill that released several red spectral arcs in front of it.
The arcs tore through the blood whip and forced the replica to dodge sideways.
Then Grizzlenaught closed the distance.
Its close combat was brutal. Heavy paws, crushing swipes, and shoulder charges. The fake Seraphina’s blood skills were dangerous and flexible, but the bear kept forcing her into tighter movements. Every time she opened a wound or landed a clean hit, the Healing Slime spat another bubble from behind.
Pop.
The wound closed, and the torn area recovered again.
The slime bounced in place after each support action, almost like it was proud of itself.
Gabriel stood still and observed. He watched how the fake Seraphina used her blood. He watched how Grizzlenaught adapted to the rhythm. He watched how often the Healing Slime needed to intervene. The entire fight gave him useful information.
At one point, the replica formed a blood spear and drove it straight through Grizzlenaught’s side. The bear roared loudly, but instead of backing away, it grabbed the opening and slammed one huge claw into her torso. The fake Seraphina was sent skidding across the ground.
Another healing bubble landed on the bear a moment later.
Outside the tower, Sarah looked at Sophie with that same small smile.
"You ask a lot at once," she said.
"You can answer in order," Sophie replied in a calm tone.
Sarah’s eyes lingered on her for a second before she finally answered.
"I have known Gabriel for a long time. Long enough to know him better than most people ever will."
Something in the way she said it made Sophie’s chest tighten slightly.
"As for who I am..." Sarah stepped a little closer, still relaxed. "Someone important to him."
Sophie kept her posture steady, but her fingers tightened slightly beneath her sleeves.
Sarah’s smile turned faintly playful again.
"We share a bond far deeper than anyone else."
That line caused Sophie’s eyes to raise slightly.
For the first time since Sarah appeared, her calm almost slipped.
A bond far deeper than anyone else?
The words repeated in her head at once, and with them came a feeling she did not like. Hurt. Unease. Fear.
Was this woman his lover?
The thought appeared so quickly that Sophie almost hated herself for it.
At the same time, something else followed right behind it.
A strange sense of betrayal.
She did not even know why she felt that way. Gabriel had never promised her anything. He had never acted as if he belonged to her. And yet hearing another woman say such things with that kind of confidence made her feel shaken.
Sarah noticed the shift in her eyes but did not comment. Of course, what she meant by a deep bond was their partnership.
Sophie forced herself to remain composed as she asked,
"What do you mean by that?"
Sarah only smiled. Before she could say anything else, movement came from the tower entrance.
