Chapter 477: Sarah’s Identity
Chapter 477: Sarah’s Identity
Gabriel stepped through the tower entrance without hesitation.
The inside had already reset. The corridors were the same as before, and the monsters on the lower floors had fully respawned. The moment he appeared, several creatures rushed toward him from the shadows. Their growls echoed through the narrow space, but he did not even slow down.
His sword flashed through the air as heads flew, creating arcs of blood.
He stepped forward again, dodged a claw, and drove his blade through another monster’s throat before kicking the corpse aside. More came at him, but the result stayed the same. In only a short time, the floor was littered with bodies.
System prompts appeared one after another, but the experience points they granted were so pitiful that he did not bother looking at them twice.
These monsters were useful for training ordinary troops and even stronger captains, but for him they were barely worth noticing anymore. The gap between his current level and the tower’s lower floors was too wide. Even when he cleared an entire section quickly, the gain was almost nothing.
Still, he kept moving.
His blade cut through another pair of monsters, and as their bodies dropped, his mind shifted elsewhere.
The first tournament of Realm of Ascendency was close.
That thought surfaced suddenly as he stepped over a corpse and moved toward the next group of enemies. The timing felt right. In his previous life, the first major tournament had come not long after the blood tower event.
And the person who won it...
His expression did not change, but the name surfaced clearly.
Valery.
He cut down another monster with a clean horizontal slash and kept walking.
If the timeline had not changed too much, then that meant she was already in the game. Somewhere out there, she had already started moving. Maybe quietly. Maybe under a different identity. But she had to be here.
He frowned slightly.
He had searched before.
More than once, he had gone through forum discussions and even player rankings that were starting to gain attention. He had looked for the alias she once used, the name that later became famous across the entire server.
However, he found nothing.
At first, he thought she simply had not entered the game yet, but that theory no longer felt right. The tournament was too close. If his memory was accurate, then she had already been active for some time before taking first place.
Which meant only one thing.
In this life, she was probably using another name.
He killed another monster and watched the body fall before moving again. That conclusion made the most sense. People changed names all the time in Realm of Ascendency. Some did it to hide. Some did it for convenience. Others just felt like it. If she had picked something different in this timeline, then his search would have been pointless from the start.
He clicked his tongue softly, annoyed.
Still, there was nothing he could do about it right now. He could not waste time chasing shadows across thousands of players with no clear lead. For now, the tournament mattered more than finding her. If she really was in the game, then she would eventually appear on her own.
"Convincing her to join the guild, however, would be very difficult," he thought as he sat down on a pile of monster corpses. "It has always been hard to have a conversation with her. She is also someone who likes to be in control, which means she will not settle for being just a normal recruit."
A moment later, he pushed himself up and continued deeper into the tower. When he reached the final floor, he saw a replica of Seraphina standing at the center, acting as the boss.
For this fight, he did not participate. Instead, he called out,
"Grizzlenaught, Healing Slime, come forth!"

Meanwhile, outside the tower, the tension between the two women had not eased at all.
Sophie stood with her usual composed posture, but her attention remained on Sarah. The red haired woman looked relaxed, almost amused, as if she could feel every glance sent her way and found it entertaining.
Neither of them spoke at first.
The silence stretched as more recruits entered and left the tower in the distance. Orders were still being shouted around the training grounds, but between the two women, there was only quiet.
Sophie’s thoughts were still unsettled.
At that moment, Sarah finally turned her head and looked directly at her.
"How long do you plan to keep watching me?" she asked. Her tone was light, but the faint smile on her lips made the words feel sharper.
Sophie did not look away. "I was not aware that looking in your direction required permission."
Sarah gave a soft laugh. "It does not. But if you keep doing it like that, people might think you are interested."
Sophie’s veil hid most of her reaction, but her eyes cooled slightly. "You seem very comfortable making assumptions."
Sarah stepped a little closer, still relaxed. "And you seem very curious."
Sophie remained silent for a brief moment.
That only made Sarah’s smile deepen.
"You have been trying to figure me out since I arrived," Sarah said. "You are not subtle."
Sophie answered in the same calm tone. "You appeared without warning, and you were placed in a high position immediately. Curiosity is natural."
"Natural," Sarah repeated, amused.
Sophie finally decided not to circle around the matter anymore. She had watched enough. The uncertainty was beginning to annoy her, and Sarah clearly had no intention of making things easier unless asked directly.
So she did.
She straightened slightly and faced the red haired woman fully.
"How long have you known Gabriel?" Sophie asked. "Who are you, and where did you come from?"
