Chapter 531: Seraphina’s Visit

Chapter 531: Seraphina’s Visit

The meeting was held not long after. By the time everyone gathered, the room already felt heavier than usual. Sophie stood near the front with the token still in her hand, while the others took their places one after another.

There was Ragnarok99, Sniperbowlegend, Samantha, then the necromancers Arnold, Casie, and Bunny, alongside all the captains of the three divisions. Sarah sat on the other end with one leg over the other, looking lazy as if none of this concerned her. Even so, the moment Sophie began speaking, every eye in the room turned toward her.

"A visitor came from Tianlan," Sophie said, raising the token slightly so they could all see it. "It was Evelyn, the second in command under Liang from Martial Palace. She came alone, and she brought this with her. It is an invitation token for something called the Buried God’s Tomb. According to her, there are only ten invitation slots, and Martial Palace secured two. One of those is being given to us."

Hearing this, everyone sat up straighter, clearly interested.

Sophie continued in the same calm tone.

"The mission concerns Tianlan, and the invitation is real. I accepted it on Gabriel’s behalf because I know he would have done the same. But that does not mean we move immediately. The final decision still belongs to him."

A small silence followed. It was not disagreement. It was simply the fact that everyone in the room already understood the value of something like this. Just hearing the words Buried God’s Tomb was enough to set their thoughts moving. If the place really involved only ten slots and came through people like Martial Palace, then the opportunity was far too valuable to ignore.

Sarah, who had remained quiet all this time, finally spoke.

"If Gabriel were here, he would go," she said. Her voice was calm, but there was not a trace of doubt in it. "He would be pissed if you all let something like this pass because you were too scared to decide."

That made a few of them look at her. Ragnarok99 slowly nodded. "She’s not wrong."

Arnold sighed and rubbed his chin once before speaking. "It’s mixed. I understand why Vice Leader Sophie wants to hear from him first, but a place like that... even entering it could bring rewards most people wouldn’t see in a lifetime."

Bunny folded her arms, though the excitement on her face was clear. "Exactly. If we miss it, he’ll definitely be angry later."

Sophie stayed quiet for a moment. She did not like that Sarah made sense, and judging from the way her gaze lingered on her for half a breath longer than needed, that feeling had not gone away. Even so, she was not foolish enough to reject good reasoning just because it came from someone she did not get along with.

A second later, something clicked in her mind.

"The best person to reach Gabriel quickly might actually be Scarlet," Sophie said. "If he is still in Stellar City, she—"

Sarah stood up before she could finish.

"I have a better way," she cut in, brushing a strand of hair back with one hand. "You all keep talking. I’ll go find him myself."

Her tone carried that same relaxed confidence that always seemed to make Sophie’s patience thinner. Before anyone else could ask what she meant, Sarah had already turned and started walking toward the door.

Sophie’s eyes followed her.

The room stayed quiet for a second longer, but Sarah did not explain further. She simply left, and the door shut behind her with a soft sound that somehow felt more annoying than it should have.

...

Far away from New Dawn, Gabriel had already changed his focus. His first plan had been to head back after settling things in Stellar City, but the moment the Buried God’s Tomb came up, that plan shifted. If something like that was opening soon, it made more sense to stay locked onto it. To do that properly, he needed to send word to his camp and make it clear that he might be away longer than expected.

He was still thinking along those lines when a strong gust of wind moved through the room.

The curtains lifted sharply. The air changed. A familiar presence appeared so suddenly that even Gabriel’s eyes shifted at once toward the source.

Seraphina stood there in her full vampire form.

Her red eyes were clearer like this, her presence darker, and the shift from air to body had happened cleanly enough that it looked as though she had stepped out from the wind itself.

Gabriel was actually a little surprised, and before he realized it, he blurted out,

"How did you find me?"

Seraphina gave a faint smile and folded her arms under her chest. "Of course I did. We have a bond. No matter where you go, I can find you."

Gabriel looked at her for a second.

He was not sure if that was comforting or troubling. A part of him liked the convenience. Another part quietly noted how dangerous that could become depending on the situation.

Seraphina seemed to notice the look in his eyes and snorted softly. "Don’t make that face. I came because your guild just got invited to something interesting."

"My guild?" he repeated.

She nodded once and walked farther in. "Buried God’s Tomb. One of the big guilds from Tianlan brought the invitation. Your people held a meeting over it a few hours ago."

Gabriel’s eyes narrowed slightly.

’So Broken Dawn got invited too.’

That complicated things.

For a moment, the room went quiet while the details settled in his head. He could go back, join his own guild for the mission, and keep everything cleaner from one angle. Or he could stay with ChaosKnight, use that connection to get closer to IceQueen, and at the same time still head toward the same tomb. He could kill two birds with one stone.

In the end, because of his pragmatic nature, he made a decision.

"Tell them to proceed without me. I’ll join them there when the time comes," he said.

Sarah hesitated for a moment, then nodded before reluctantly leaving, even though she wanted to spend more time with him.

"Well, there’s still a few days left before the journey to Tianlan. I might as well use the opportunity to check out the orb," he thought, bringing out the memory fragments he had extracted from Torin Blackstar.
